I received a few calls from this number for my wife, and I ask if I can take a message, and they tell me "no thats okay, this is just a courtesy call"....

I received a call today saying they were american mortgage? I told them not to call back she said she will call back to speak with my husband, That's who she asked for anyway.  I said no you won's she hung up on me

747 is one of the area codes for LA.

same as above  repeated calls to my cell  always a hang up.. but I still get charged..  how do you block these SOBs???

Just received the latest of many calls from 747-525-0031, all of which end by the party on the calling end hanging up when I take the call.

Keep getting calls from 747-525-0031 day or night as late as 11PM. Anything that can be done about these people? This is an ongoing problem dating back to Feb /07

They called again today.I guess reporting to FTC twice
won't stop them.What does FTC DO anyway? Nothing? Are they a Joke?
I didn't answer.I am going to get an answering machine that says
"If you know the extension you are calling, please dial it now,
if not, then please hold".
Maybe that annoying message will stop them.
Or "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number
and try your call again". I may tape that for them to hear every time they call.

Very persistant annoying calls from this number. Hang-ups galore! Also they want to refinance but will only speak to my husband. We do not buy anything from phone solicitors PERIOD!

Called my cell phone but never left a message

After I reported them to the FTC twice, they have Not called back.
Good so far.

Received 4 calls (July 2007) from this number, no message was left. One of the calls was received on Sunday morning at 10:15am. Why are they calling my number if it is on the No-Call List for solicitation? I didn't request their service!

several calls in the past week, voice mail is a ringing phone, and no one there when I did finally get to answer it. ANNOYING IN THE EXTREME!

They called me twice today and I just reported them to FCC,
my state attorney general and FTC, do not call registry.
I will report each and every phone call one by one.
So if these people call me 30 times a day,
they will be REPORTED 30 times a day to FCC, my attorney general,
FTC,and the do not call registry.

I just researched international area code 747.
It comes from Brazil. There are also new ways of making caller ID
say whatever you want.Some company was advertising this.
I forget the name.Either way the call is most likely Not Valid,
Not important,proably some Scam.

They called me this morning for the First time.
I did not answer.After reading these posts,I'm keeping a record
of their calls. They call some up to 30 times a day...crazy!
On another site, someone said there is No 747 area code in the
United States. They said it was coming from Russia.

Could be a scam from "Asset care" junk debt buyer in Michigan,
where some drunken voice claims you owe money and claims he is
in New Jersey. They are proably trying to Get your Information
so they can Scam you out of money. Don't be fooled or tricked
by some stranger on the phone.Your Info is None of Their business.

For the ones who "claim to already Know your info"
they just want to "verify" it. Don't be fooled by this either.
You don't have to verify anything to anyone.

This number 747-525-0031 have been calling me for the past week but nobody answers from the other end.  It's really annoying.

Called again today (these folk are on several forums like this one). Everyone agrees that it is American Data.

FILE a complaint with the FCC, as I have done https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/consumer.do
Fillout the form and select the
"Abandoned call" or "War dialing" option

If enough of us do this, they MUST put a stop to it.
Additionally, I would speculate the 'Officer Grant' actually works for American Data and NOT the FBI. The FBI would DO something, and do it quietly, not post it here.

Calls Monday - Friday, asks for spouse then hangs up.  The voice is the same male voice each time.

Number left on caller ID.  California Call.

Same thing is happening. They call two or three times a day and I am unable to call back or answer in time.

I get calls from this number every day 3 times a day. It's getting annoying. I too am on the "do not call" list. What gives??

I just reported a different number and my phone rings, the same situation, (506-637-6059) I picked up the phone say hello 2-3 times, here nothing and hang up. I put a block on the 506 number; however I cannot block this number. Any suggestions.

Like everyone else, I receive 2-3 calls a day from this number, and calling American Date accomplished nothing.
