I keep getting the same call on a daily basis.  I just let it ring cause I don't recognize the area code.  The Caller-ID says it's from Citizens National Bank.  Did an area code lookup and see that it's in the Chesapeake, VA area.  I've never done any business with a bank anywhere except here in Omaha, so they can kiss where I can't...

Got a call from (757) 242-3996 this morning. Tried calling back, and it cannot be completed as dialed because it's having "equipment problems"

I got a missed call from this number and returned it.  This is the automated message I heard: "We're sorry, due to equipment problems your call cannot be completed at this time. Please try your call again later." and then it disconnects.  I searched for this number and found this thread and have now added this number to the growing list of Telemarketers that routinely dial my cell phone.  I have that "contact" set to go straight to voicemail so that I'll never even know they've called me again.  Works like a charm.

This number 757-242-3996 is in use as of April 3, 2014 and Caller ID lists CItizen's Nat Bk, so it is still spoofing your number and name. I'd think you would be upset about how it makes you look to be tied to a co. that sends automated calls to people who have no mortgages. At the end of the message, there is an option to dial 2 to be removed from the calling list, but it sounds like all it does is disconnect the call. It goes to a fast busy after a few seconds.

If your name appears on my Caller ID, I am going to assume that you don't mind. Why spoofed numbers are allowed to begin with is beyond my comprehension. Their only purpose is to allow dishonesty.

I have been storing the numbers under a contact on my cell phone called, DO NOT ANSWER SCAM, so I know not to answer any second calls I get from those numbers.  I don't even answer my home phone number any more, because 95% of the calls I get are sales or scams such as these.  I am also on the DNC registry, but it makes no difference!  What a hassle.

Just called me (10/03/13, 10:33am EST). I think I'm on the DNC list. So annoying.

The caller ID DOES NOT represent the true caller's number; just like a caller can block the caller ID the caller ID can be spoofed if the call is generated from say an IP source. Being on the DNC list will not prevent calls coming into either your homes or cell phones. The DNC only allows for the prosecution of offenders,  not the filtering of phone calls to your DNC number.

Received a call today. Do not answer calls unless  I know the person calling. I also do not have a mortgage. Tired of getting these calls. Also on DNC list?????????????

I reported this nuisance call which I have been receiving on my cell from 757-242-3996 to FTC @ 877-382-4357 the number which was given to me by Citizen's National Bank who I called @ 757-242-4422. They told me at Citizen's that they used to have the 757-242-3996 phone number.

What a world we live in. Back in the days when there was no caller ID and you just might get a busy signal or be on a party line and hear other people talking it didn't seem like there was so much SCUM Of THE EARTH intruding and doing whatever they are doing to disrupt people's lives. Would someone tell me the purpose of these uninvited calls from machines. What do they want anyway? I hang up so don't hear the whole pitch. From now on I will not answer my phone ...but hey, it's MY phone.

I got a call from this number, I asked for the company name and was told:Real Estate Hardship Services. When I asked for their phone number, they refused to give it, when I asked if you refused to give me your phone number, why are you calling to bother me ? The caller got RUDE, refused to give any other information, I asked to be put on their do-not-call list and was hung up on !

When asked to be taken off the list of automated calls .. I was hung up on.

CITIZENS BANK IS LYING.. The number is still working and they are responsible for the calls.. Report them as often as you can.

Just got a call from this number and I pressed one to talk to a person. Told her I dont own a home and remove me from their caller's list. She said she would. Time will tell on that one.
