Calls constantly!! Automatic Computer voice message

I have been contacted by this number twice. It states in the recording that it is Sentara billing. I called both the hospital and family provider billing departments by calling the numbers on their website and was told I have a $0 balance. Based on that information and the other comments left here, I'd say it is a scam. If you are worried you have a bill, call the official numbers posted on Sentara's website.

These clowns called me today & once last week.  Since I don't answer any number I don't recognize they left a (sounded recorded) message.  Said to call regarding billing issues.  I never heard of Sentara Healthcare, but I know Potomac Hospital -- which, BTW, they never mentioned in the message; I only know of the connection from reading this website.  I have not been to  that hospital in years & can't imagine why I'd owe them anything.  It may be a "legit" company & a "legit" number on my caller ID, but scummers have been known to use real names/numbers to work their game.  If I owe a legitimate bill let Potomac Hospital or Sentara send it to me by mail.  They'll get nothing from me over the phone.  DOWN WITH TELEMARKETERS!  FEDERAL BAN ON TELEMARKETING NOW!

The call is Legit   The 2779872 is a computer generated call center. You won't get an answer. You need to call the number they leave you, in my case it was 757-233-4850  It's the Sentara hospital billing dept.

They call me and I have not been to the er but when I call back to clarify its the wrong number, it just hangs up

I work for Sentara Healthcare and this is a legit call from thier billing department and they do own Potomic Hospital als. So answer the phone and make payment arrangements to pay your bills folks and they will stop calling.

Got a call from 7572779872. This is NOT a scam. This is part of Potomac Hospital in woodbridge, VA. If they call you and you know you have no business with them, just block their number. Thats all.

Sentara Healthcare is a legitimate company, but I SERIOUSLY doubt that this call is really from them. First, the calls come to my cell phone number (which I do NOT give out) despite the fact that I have a listed, published home number. Second the call is from an unpublished number.  Third, the call does NOT specify whom it is asking for (a ploy by someone sending out thousands of calls to see which ones come back). Fourth, and MOST telling, the number the recording tells you to call is unpublished and does NOT match the official number that Sentara gives on its website.

Most likely, this is an attempt at identity theft. They get people to give out social security numbers and other personal information to straighten out the "mixup"

I got a call from this number today too, 9/12/11.  An automated message was left saying that they are Sentara Healthcare and to call back at 877-768-3993.  I see the above posts are saying this is Potomac Hospital.  I did recently go to Potomac Hospital.  Well if they are, they need to call me from a local 703 number and have a real person on the phone that I can call back because there are too many scams now and days and I just don't trust these random non-local numbers and automated voicemails.  If I owe Potomac a payment, they should send me a bill in the mail like other companies do and I'll write them a check.  I will not be dealing with some Sentara folks who I've never heard of.  In fact, I think I'll block this number.

It is not a scam. Sentera is a hospital affiliation. Part of the affiliation is Potomac Hospital. It is like MedStar and Georgetown Hospital.

Hah!  I just got a call from this number ... when i called back it says this number has been disconnected. but was able to left me a voice mail? It's from SENTARA BILLING DEPT. (toll free #  877 87683993) ... Is this still a scam?? LOL

It is Sentara billing.  They leave messages to call them back.  If you have any outstanding balances they will call.

I have been getting them as well, but now My father is getting them cause he is my emergency contact. Its freaking irritating!!!!!

An automated message from Sentara's billing department requesting a call-back.  I didn't call the number, but since I have had no business with them, it's got to be fishy.  Be warned!
