I just got a call from 757-336-8065 and no one came on the line. I was curious so I googled the number and this site came up. Fortunately they never came on the line and we were disconnected. Probably something wrong with their telemarking dialer- fortunate for me

Got a call from them number and it was CRA Recovery. They said i failed to report extra income to the IRS.....i told they were mistaken and Heidi got pissed and hung up. its funny how you call there bluff and they get frustrated. i never agreed to anything so they pretty much have no leg to stand on.

They called me left this message saying I better get in touch with them etc. I could not care less if they are legit or not they wont get me to answer the phone.

I got a call from this number today, and as I never answer if I don't recognize the name or number, I didn't answer.  They did not leave a message.  The caller ID said "CHINCOTEGU VA" - I've never heard of this place.

I just got a call from this number at my work to my direct line. I am wondering how they got this number. I didn't say who I was and they kept asking to speak to me and said that they had this number as the place she works. I thought it was illegal to call ones place of employment. I did not give them any information.

Recieved a call from 757-336-8065.  I just didn't answer didn't know who it was and decided to goole this number and I see all of these post.  Won't answer in the future either.  Clearly it is some kind of scam!!

I was contacted by this number, saying they represented Check into Cash.  I have never had a payday loan and when I requested "proof of the validity" of the debt I was told "Well I want a million dollars but I am not going to get it am I".  I am a law student and tried to explain to the gentleman that by law they have 30 does to give me such information.  The call seemed phony so I called Check into Cash Corp. Headquarters and they explained to me they handle all collections internally and do not out source their accounts, but ran my name through their computer to find out that I in fact had never dealt with them or any other pay day company within this state.  In SC the payday companies have a computer system that shows all clients and all they loans they have or have had.  This company is a scam.  They are trying to find people that will not ask questions. I have notified our local authorities, and they have said a detective will  be calling me.  This is the law:  Collection agents are not allowed to make threats of what they will do to you, they have to supply "validity of debt" within 30 days, and they have to use professional language and tell you up front, "This is a debt, any information obtained will be used for such purposes".  My advice when a debt collection agency calls you, call the original holder of the debt.  It is their debt and the debt collection agency makes money ONLY if THEY collect.  The original holder of the debt will normally settle with you for a fraction of the debt, because then they will not have to pay extra fees to a collection agency.  Also they original debt holder can usually work out a payment plan with you.

I just received a call from this phone number stating they were a credit collecting agency buty could not hear the same as they were talking so fast. The addressed me by name and the last four numbers of my social secutiry number. When I asked what was this call about they mentioned a "supposed" credit card from 2003. I told them not to call me and I did not know what credit card debt they were talking about. I requested their mailing address and the employee number of the person I was on they phone with as I would only accept communication by mail. The person on the phone knew they were wrong so she laughed and said they would never call me again. This was a total scam to get information. If they call you always ask for their employee number, business name and address if they are legit they will give it to you - if not they will hang up.

Received a call from this # and was asked to "Please hold, your call is very important to us", like I was calling on some phone tree system.  The # identified itself as having originated in Chincoteague, VA. This came after I was phoned by "Premier Services" earlier from # 601 501-4105 with an actual person on the line who wanted to give me a $200 gift card for being identified as a "Master Card holder who was eligible for Premier Status".  The latter # has been identified as a scam by several people when I checked it here.

These people called my cell phone and then my home phone. Neither time did they leave a message. I put them on call block.

I recieved a call from a lady she asked if it was me an I said yes an was saying I owed debt an I Said I dont have any money she then went on an said that I owed checks mart an another one, an when I said I wanted proof by mail she said Ill just put a refusal to pay since you said that first, I said twice if you need to send me proof of my debt an just kept avoiding it saying they will just right it of as refusal.  I also said ok you can say i refused but your recording of this message will state that i didnt refuse ive asked for proof an by law you have to prove it an send me documentation. I ended up hanging up on her an i try to call back to speak to someone else an the phone number is no longer in service wow.. SCAM

received a call on my government phone from a lady - she was asking for a man name i beleived was jason - told her she may have a wrong # - she inquired if i don't know thta person - told her no - said is this a business - told her no - it's the us government - she hung up - I called the # back and a recording said this # is not in service -

wrong they were trying to say they were going to file a 1099-c which is for cancellation of debt, when debt is forgiven it is taxable income unless it is excluded by statute it is not illegal for them to tell yoiu this but i believe only the original creditor can file the form

B***S***.  A LEGITIMATE COMPANY WOULD FOLLOW THE FAIR DEBT COLLECTION PRACTICES ACT AND NOT BE CALLING RELATIVES.  IRONIC THAT YOU START CALLING WITHIN 2 HOURS OF WHEN I HAD MY DEBIT CARD CANCELLED FOR FRAUD!

I didn't give my number to whom ever is callling my phone. I don't know what they want from me because I don't give out my number.

I had pretty much this same experience today.  They called to say I owed almost $1,000 from 10 years ago.  She said she was "getting ready to make a decision on this today" whatever that means.  I asked for proof that it was my debt.  She said she's not required to give me any!  Like stated above, she started talking over me and I hung up on her.

CRA is a debt collector that purchases old debts from collection companies. I have never returned their call. I have heard that they threaten the people they call. Sometimes the debts have even been paid and they still try to collect.

The company is a "legitimate" collection agency. They probably have old accounts but they are EXTREMELY rude. I have been receiving calls from this company for the past month or so looking someone I don't know. I actually received a call from an attorneys office six months ago looking for the same person but I have had my number for over a year. I assume the attorneys office hired them and gave them bad information. I have told them they have the wrong number everytime they call but they continue calling. Very rude just for the heads up.

Report any scams to your State's Attorney General's Office!!!  They will investigate these scams IF they get enough people complaining about them!!!

well I sent a decist letter and the calls stopped until last week, now what I am doing one ring pick up hang up......put it in writing....i wish our government would make it illegal for phone calls from collection agencies and require written documentation only....HAHA  the bottom feeders would go out of business.....I sent certified letter....ignore it and call with a diff # I think not...LOSERS, you are rude, ignorant and you will not see a dime from me until we go to cour oops yeah I forgot your co cant provide any documentation...oops Im bad.

Ha, glad I Googled this... I just got the same call. Oddly I was sitting right next to the phone and it didn't ring. Just sent them to voice mail... huh? I saw the missed call and instantly Googled it.

I also got a call from this number and I can tell you all that it is completely BOGUS!  How do I know for sure?  Well, because I received a notification on my Text Plus App on my iPhone that they had called.  That number is a texting only number and isn't even specifically registered to me, just my App.  This is a phishing scam... BEWARE... don't answer any of their questions!!!

im wondering if this has anything to do with craigslist also. I applied for a job earlier today and just now got a phone call from the CRA place. If so this needs to stop becuase thats an illegal way to obtain a persons phone number.
