they've called three times this week early in the morning. I haven't answered yet and they leave no message.

I had this number on my caller ID on my cell. I looked it up and found it was a "mortgage" collection agency. I returned the call and was immediately asked for a ss#. I refused to give this out and she looked up my name in the system. THere was nothing. I would be very careful since they first ask for a ss#.

I had this number as a missed call on my cell phone from Virginia, and I've also been getting spam phone calls from numbers in Canada, New York, and Florida

Didn't anwer the call; was on the answering machine.

I received a call from this number.  The fellow was looking for a "James Williams", someone I've never heard of.  Very mysterious!

They called at 8:15 on Sat wanting information on my father. Told me they had his phone number, but wanted more information. I asked how they got my number, And was told I was used as a credit reference

These guys just called & I didn't recognize the number. So, I googled the number while the phone was ringing to learn who the caller was. Thanks to all for making this info possible.

Can't figure out why they'd be calling me; I don't owe anyone. But, from reading through your comments, they'll call looking for people who used to have the phone number...and won't stop even when they learn the truth.

Whoa...here comes another call from them---and it's only been a few minutes since the first call!

This company repeatedly called me trying to find the person who previously had my phone number more than 3 years ago. Any company who pays this dumb company money to find debitors is wasting their money. If this company had even googled my phone number they would see it didnt belong to the person they were looking for. This company is stupid stupid stupid. I even called them I told I had had the number for at least 3 years and they didnt stop calling me. These companies are parasites no better than the people they are looking for.

Received the call at 11:27 on my cell - which I never put the number for on anything.  No message.  
Called and got a recording to press this or that, but no way to get to a real person

I received a call from this number at 11:44 am on 5/14/09 on my mobile.  I did not answer and no message was left.

Received call from HSBC - Beneficial Finance, who was bought a few years ago by Household Bank. They were calling about a delinquent account. Have been civil but want a "consent judgment" if they do a payment plan, which is not necessarily in anyone's best interest but I do know they will send the account on to a local law firm and sue you, as I have colleague who experienced same, yet they never actually got to court.

got call from this number 757-368-1000 i picked it up and they would not say anything.don't know who it is.

Caller asked for unknown name. I told them they had a wrong number.

I don't understand. They must be getting paid for the number of calls "made" not actual money or information collected.  There will be a special little corner of hell reserved for the genius who implemented this system of "carpet calling"  Do not attempt to make contact with anyone of authority as he/she will a) Be as hard-headed as the computer calling you.  b) Be at a first grade English level (on a good day)  c) Tell you I "apologize for that sir/maam and proceed to call you right back.  or  d) All of the above.  HSBC is among the many banks that just got like 700 Billion dollars, they are not lending it, so why sont they use it to payoff DEBTS?????

purchased a digitone privacy call blocker.  Enter the numbers you want to block, the phone rings once and the numbers go off to lala land.  next best thing is contact you phone company and put phone block on you line.  In my case you enter the number can only list up to 10numbers and the call does not even ring.  These scum bag telephone callers know what they are doing is harassment and they know it is against the law they also know that the chance of them getting caught and paying a fine is slim to none.  Simply bock the calls.

(757) 368-1000:  on 8/28/08, 71 calls in less than 15 minutes -- no message of any sort left; I hung up immediately almost every time.  Calls stopped only after spouse called back, talked to tele-flunky and informed the cretin that it's HARRASSMENT.  (This is the second such mega-call incident within 30 days.)

Whom ever keeps calling for James Price.....my father's name is James Price. Different middle intial. These callers are looking for
James "R" Price. They have been informed serveral times that they have the wrong James Price & number. Same city. They have been notified by mail also. They have been very rude to my elderly mother. This needs to stop now.

They left a message. This is Household Beneficial and they will keep calling back to back. How they got my cell phone number I don't know.

I got the same missed call and no message. When i called back I couldnt understand the company name but there was something about debt collection. and no way to get through to an operator or real person....I'm chalking it up as more telephone spam...

I received a call on my cell at 7:50 AM on a Saturday morning! Since I didn't recognize the number, and I have only had this number for a year now, I didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message.

I just received a call from this number no message and when i calld back no one was there.. is ths real?

called from this number and left an 800 number to return the call.  said they were some mortgage company.
