I got a call last night at 2:45 am from this number. I called back this morning at 6 am and after two rings there was static and odd noises. What I don't understand is that I am not from the 757 area I only moved her recently. My area code is not 757, where on earth did this person get my phone number?

Caller id said its from Virginia Beach Correctional facility, I didn't answer

This is a call from the Virginia Beach City Jail.  Someone is attempting to get a message to you.

Called at 9:45 and 9:46 p.m. last night on my cell phone.  Did not answer.  Will block this phone number from now on.  When googleing it said it was a "Verizon - land line".  Makes sense it is from the jail as "427" is down by the city courthouse in Virginia Beach.

I recieved a call from that phone number as well, I didnt answer and I tried to text back. After 10 seconds it sent me a text back saying this is a call from a lan line and said it was either a facsimile or a computer.

This is a collect call from someone in the VB Jail.

757-427-1632 called my cell number yet refused to identify him/herself after I said "hello" twice. For starters, I answered the phone with "hello" and the caller was silent. The line was open as I waited a few moments before saying "hello" again; dead silence. After, waiting 15-20 seconds there was a faint click to disconnect the line after a total online time of 29 seconds. Within a few seconds the caller called back and repeated the same game. After answering "hello" the two if us sat in silence for the duration of the remainder of the call which lasted a total of 34 seconds. There were no background noises - total silence from my phantom caller. The two calls were deliberate from the standpoint he/she called twice. Had it been an accident why sit by in silence waiting for 'me' to hang up? This phone number, 757-427-1632, is a land line as I'm familiar with the prefix - its coming from my home town and from an area near where I was raised. The BIG question is WHO the caller is and if he/she dialed a wrong number WHY not simply say so instead of sitting me out in silence? No, this was deliberate. But, the VICTOR here was NOT 757-427-1632 rather it was the receiver who patiently waited while the caller tired of him or herself.
