I hate people who think th ey know everything and you don't know what the hell you're talking about. They have their own lawyers. They've been running a business since I was a child and they know what they're doing.

Because they also sell advertising. They have a donations department as well as an advertising department you're probably getting calls from two different departments 42 completely different reasons. Not everyone is out to get you

Only thing is, is that they are legitimate. It's a call center & they can't leave a number because they are constantly on the phone trying to sell advertisement. It's just easier for both parties for them to talk to someone. It is a legitimate business with a legitimate item for sale, online advertising in 3rd party format that goes on a recommendation page for city guides. Check out all the "hello" sites, you'll see.

Business owners know where to go if they want to advertise they dont need these people repeatedly calling them. "DUH" and your full of crap too. They keep saying theyre a charity you scumbag a** kisser

I fully agree that these people are scammers. You should totally not deal with them in any respect. The unfortunate thing about the DO NOT CALL list is that there is no restriction on charitable organizations.

If they are registered as a charity then these scammers can call you even if you are on the DNC list.

I know it sucks but this is the way that the DNC system is setup.

Called them back after five calls all morning, got a live person. Requested they remove my number, she took my number, very polite.

Maybe they are legit but they sound unethical.    Received a call from them today.  They have out-dated information and were reluctant to give me the reason for their call.   And why does their name read as "Contract  ? " on my display?  That sounds pretty phony.  

They have been added to my "bogus callers" list.

If they are legit, they would act it. Calling people in the morning with a phone attitude is not respectful.
I asked them to call back and leave a message, they never did.  Calling any number with a pushy demanding demeanor is basically rude and not real and I wouldn't support them with that way of speaking if they were.

I just noticed these goofs called about a year ago wanting to sell me space on "HelloChicago.com." Same scheme, same scam.

It was "Felicia," calling to tell me about a news story about my business. She had business name and owner name. She, of course, wanted to speak with the owner.. I said one minute, put her on hold, came back on and thanked her for the information. What newspaper is the story in? I will check it out. She said "Chicago City Guide." I said it was very nice of her to call and give this warning. She, rather flustered, said that's not possible because there is more than one "Chicago City Guide." I said that's OK. I'll check it out on the internet and thanks for calling." I hung up. It is the scam of placing an "advertorial" in a special pull-out section of a newspaper or a magazine.special section. Sometimes, in addition to the story, there will be an advert. Usually the copy is well-written. However, one-time placement generates zero business. The ad would have to repeat for 10 times. Further, most responses are dead-ends. If the business is small, it is a huge distraction for no benefit. Pure waste.

I just received a call from this number on my cell phone. They were contacting "local" business owners to make donations to the Wishing Well charity who desperately needs funds for 2 young boys who are not expected to live beyond 18 years old. Giving started at $2,500, $1,500, then $1,000.  I almost choked because my business is REALLY SMALL! Then the telemarketer suggested I donate $100 and asked me for my credit card number or give her an electronic check over the phone!  I said no, and hung up.  During the call she said I could call her back at any time.

de-regulation does suck. try winning any kind of dispute with an internet provider, cell phone company  or cable provider without threat of ruining your credit rating if you cancel due to bad service or false promises from phone reps.

my company donates to them on a quarterly basis and we did our homework and research before we donate to them and I can tell you that yes they are paid fundraisers (and they even tell you that) but the majority of the money collected goes to the actual charity. Just a little fyi. Nothing makes me madder then someone that only knows a half truth.  So you guys keep doing what you are doing for these children and my company will keep donating.

they call for 2 charities 1 of them isnt that great the other one hands down is wonderful and you ever thought maybe they do the right thing with the donations cant help what the actual charity themselves does with the money like i said one of the charities 76%goes to the kids thats not bad but most people do look for some excuse not to donate!!!every charity has overhead even st jude!! kids get like 80%with them well doctors and the hospital get that all donations are 4 research hasnt ther been enuff of that lets get more toys and theraputic camps win they are in  remition help the families out with bills throw the kids stuck in the hospitals special events thats what childrens cancer recovery foundation does they are designed to create smiles and inspire hope in these children going thru the chemo and radiation treatments the kids love them they make their day and thats one of things that 757-578-3500 calls for

Caller saie she was Anne Nobel and was calling from the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. She was trying to sell an ad of some kind.
