This is a legitimate number, it's UPS calling about a damaged package.  It's the number left on Caller ID, the number they left on my answering machine to return call, was 866-706-6894.

Have been called 2X's by this # in the last 6 weeks.  Sounds suspicious to me.

What happened?

There are alot of phone scams going around Maine!  The caller on my answering machine said, "Second attempt!"  I thought it was, "Second Offence!" I do not live a life, that a call, would tell me...Pay your fines, or go to Jail.  I almost called my PD, to report a scam.  UPS, and other agency's need to make sure thier employees, use proper  pronunciation.

If they were valid or smart, they would leave a message so that we can help them out with what they need from us.  They keep calling every few days, but not leaving a message.

As one poster said, when you try to call the number back, you are told that it is a non-working UPS number.

Just received a call from 757-591-6001 indicating they were from UPS and wanted to ask me question about a Macy's delivery.  I was contacting Macy's about a delivery that was not fully delivered.  So I will follow it up and let the site know.  I believe they may be legitimate because of the Macy's connection in the message.

This is UPS claims dept. Wanting to check on a claim. Not a debt collector.

Just received this call. No message. Only one call. I do have a tv damage claim I submitted yesterday for ups damaging a flat screen tv. My guess is, initially, that its a legit call since the timing is right on my UPS Damage claim.

I got a voice from this number today 2013-05-31.  Not so clear to hear but she left a calling back number, 877-884-1211, which is UPS claim department.

This was UPS calling me about a lost package claim I filed on their website yesterday. It's a legit number- I just can't believe they actually called me to follow up!

Got a call from this number.  Before I could answer it between the 1st & 2nd ring, they hung up.  Called back to hear this is a 'non working UPS number'.

This number called us and my husband wasn't around so I answered it and she was looking for my husband. She just asked if did we receive a merchandise the harp. And I answered no and wanted to tell her we've been waiting for it. It has been three weeks since it was sent to us but till now haven't arrived. We are leaving in a few weeks because we are missionaries. I wanted to call back on this number to ask for details about the package but it says it is a none worker number of UPS. Don't really understand and doesn't make since when they can call but we can't call back to them.

That would be "Do you speak English?",mrorange. Perhaps you should check yourself. Unless you are referring to a person named English, then my humble apologies. The other fellow simply can't type, but no need to criticize as his/her message was perfeclty understandable.

In regards to the actual subject, I also received a call from this number that turned out to be UPS claims area.

757-591-6001 is legitimately a UPS number used to make outbound calls in Virginia.  It's a Verizon landline in their Newport News, VA office.  

I've being called by them on it per CID, over legitimate issues of damaged package claims.  

If it's showing up on calls that aren't from the real UPS, then VOIP scammers may be using it as a fake as they often do.  For a change though, 757-591-6001 is a real and valid number used by UPS agents for problem deliveries and damage claim investigations, mostly for a limited region of Virginia and North Carolina.

This number that UPS calls from is not a working number you can call back. When they call you, they do not leave a message. Thanks to this site we can proceed in the best manner. it's not legitimate any more...   it's been disconnected and someone with alot of time on their hands picked up the number.

this is an invalid number at newport news.

once was ups...    again,   fogery.    scan your computer..  clean up your phones and block the #.


seriously,  it is not rocket science.

it's fake...    claiming to be UPS  but (if you get fake UPS email delivery notices via email also..)

just tell them to stick it up their rectums.

also watch out for websites that don't look right all of the sudden like ebay and whatnot.    


you've been infected.    just clean yourself up and don't fall for it.       also this will increase until  after the first week of july.

I  shipped two packages out from Chicago via UPS.  One made it to Detroit as intended, and after much investigation on my own I learned one made it to Baltimore, but did not make it to my house which is only about 30 minutes away.  I received a call over a week later from this number informing me that my lost package had been found.  The call came in from Newport News, VA.  The woman said she was from UPS and she found my package.  I am still not sure where my package was found, but after almost 2 weeks of waiting I am glad it has been found.  It will take a few days to get here, so it is either in VA or in some other part of the country.  This number is used to call UPS customers about lost or damaged items, but when you try to call the number back, all you get is a recording and you are forced to call customer service.
