Thanx for the list, sweetie.
But - are you sure this list is completely complete? Every time I look up an unfamiliar number (which I never answer) it seems to be from these bottomfeeders.
They make it necessary to have a huge callblocker because every time you block one number, they just call from a different one.
But - be that as it may, thanx SO much for the list.

I hear that. Portfolio has called me at least one thousand times. I used to talk to them and tell them my troubles and why I have old accounts and why I never intend to pay them so they should just forget about it and not waste their time with me, but they don't listen. Oh well, it's their dime.

Hey everybody...call these jerks back at once and simply say " this is an high tech message to cease and desist...it is now permanently recorded on the internet for all law enforcement, government agencies to use ...any wireless communications are accessible to law enforcement".....let their lawyers figure out the implication and potential resolution....it will stop bombard them back!!!!!

I received a call from this number and I reverse looked it up, I have a app that actually tells me where this call originates from, and this number came from a company called dukes cab company in norfolk virgina, well, it seems that some one is routing this number through their company computer, this illegal, and is how scammers contact victims, what I have to say is that this is a fake company using a real companies name in order to swindle money out of people, they buy old copies of debts that are written off, then contact people with them to get the people scared enough to send them money, by doing this they begin a new debt, they are fakes but ,but have partnered up with someone from the original company to form this dummy company, this is why they do not quit, will not answer you,and hang up if you ask for a supervisor,I know, I myself track down scammers and turn them in, and see this alot,

They are caling under the guise of looking for a specific person however In reality thay are looking for anyone who is foolish enough to send them any money. If anybody on this site ever gets the urge to send them any money your best would be to flush the money down the toilet instead.
Elspeth 2014-05-22 20:05:11 Unknown
Get a consumer lawyer (many work on contingency, meaning you don't pay if they don't win). You would win in court, since you have already sent a cease and desist letter (I hope you also had it documented with a return receipt showing they received that letter). They are also calling re. an account which wasn't yours, they took you to court for it and lost, not surprisingly - so they are the ones who should be sued for blatant violation of federal law.
You Rock 2014-05-22 20:00:11 Unknown
Sorry for your troubles.

The guy gave good advice.
Yes, sometimes collection agencies have a legitimate reason to call. MANY TIMES they abuse that right. And SOMETIMES they are calling Friends Family and Acquaintances as Skip tracers... NOT COOL. And WORSE, sometimes they have a wrong number and wrong info and because of Privacy laws it makes it a challenge to get them to stop,
AND THE GUY UP THERE WHO GAVE ALL THE LINKS, he helped.
breathe.....
I don't work for them, I'm not defending their worst actions. I'd personally round up the worst of the worst and throw them in a very deep pit and bury them alive. < I hope that satisfies your worst conspiracy fears. Likely not.
Just Me 2014-05-22 17:22:33 Unknown
So how long have you worked for this company? Sorry but if you are defending them scum sacking bottom feeders, then they must be paying you.
Note to all who think they can come onto these sites and harass us here.....WE ARE NOT STUPID....if we have put something on one of these sites then we know to check numbers before we answer...SO GO THE F×*K AWAY!!!!!
Danny 2014-05-22 16:07:54 Unknown
You can send a cease and desist yourself and it won't cost you any more than postage and printing supplies.

Another new number Portfolio Recovery is using; I have added it to my list of callers that have a silent ringer, so I don't have to be disturbed when they call. I have previously sent a "cease and deist" letter, but they are apparently ignoring it! They took me to court once, and lost, because they could not prove I owed them anything (which I didn't!). They still robo-call my cell-phone (which is also illegal) and send me settlement options for the same account they say I owe them. At the very bottom of the letters, in small print, is a notification that they can't take me to court because of the Statue of Limitations, yet they continue to waste their time. I consider them scum, and will not talk to them, for fear of them "re-aging" this account they say I owe. I try not to get irritated, and when they use a new number to contact me, I will make a little report like this in hopes that it will help others.

Please report this number as harrassment.

Just got a vicious call from someone there in Virginia... sorry, I owe you bottomfeeders nothing. Your company, Portfolio Recovery, is not very reputable, and you hire sorry people with bad phone etiquette...
STOP 2014-05-21 19:53:07 Debt Collector
These assclowns are relentless bottom feeding scum. They call everyday from a different number wanting to speak to a Jaynel. I tell them to STOP calling my damn phone with this crap. Take my number off of your call list, there IS NO JAYNEL HERE!!!! The next day they call again from a different number.
Stuart 2014-05-21 18:48:16 Debt Collector
Have instructed them not to contact me under any circumstances. Have contacted them via writing as well as when they have called. Number was on caller id but only after answering did they identify themselves.
Kriss 2014-05-20 06:24:42 Debt Collector
These bums called me too. Can't be too important because they didn't leave a message. Have since blocked them. :)
Robert 2014-05-19 16:52:52 Debt Collector
Portfolio Recovery. They call sometimes a dozen or more times a day. I owe no one any money but I've read they try to extort something anyway if they make contact. Eff them. I hope the law catches up with every one of them and they retire in prison.
Brian 2014-05-16 17:36:48 Unknown
This company is a legitamet collectiona agency. You just get people from time to time that don't know there job. Plus anything that sounds like legal advice is in violation of law. Plus it is illegal for them to collect a debt without them sending you documentation! You did right by reporting it to Victoria's Secret. However the BBB can't really do anything.
Brian 2014-05-16 17:33:58 Unknown
You need to send a cease and disist letter with a warning on it. Something to the nature of if they call you or anyone else like a spouse or family member, or contact you by mail you will seek legal action. If they then contact you after that point they will be in violation of federal law.

Robert 2014-05-15 23:35:15 Debt Collector
Portfolio Recovery. They've been calling me for years now. I don't owe anybody any money and I never answer their calls. I never answer any number I don't recognize and I never return calls when no message is left. I didn't always feel that way but I have no choice now. Now I almost always do a web search of the number which almost always leads me here. Glad this site exists.
