This company calls at very inappropriate hours.  It took me some research to find out who they were.  Luckily, they are calling my Google Voice so I just block each number whenever they call.  They have many, many numbers.  That said, they are trying to collect on a credit card debt from 1996...Where I had a serious crime committed against me.  My wallet and checkbook were stolen, landing me in the hospital for about 3 days trying to protect myself.  I had police reports and proof of all of this.  It took me a few years to clear my name of any of the charges this person was making (while I was hospitalized mind you) but I finally did.  It cost me a lot of money and time.  It also does NOT show up on any credit report because the issue has been resolved since about 2000.  I don't owe anyone anything.  Yet Portfolio wants me to send them almost 1K?  I spent more than that trying to defend my good name.  How dare they.  I hope that anyone associated with this company burns in Hell.

This is the do not call registry. It's legit. Add your number to the registry. After your number has been in the list for 30 days it is illegal for a company to call and is considered harassment. If a company continues to call, go to "File a complaint" on the registry and report the company. The government considers this harassment very serious if you report it, and they will investigate the company and put them on notice.

No collection agency may knowingly collect a debt that is being collected by another collection agency or attorney.

And gee,..I have 3 different letters from 3 different collection company's(Portfolio recovery, Northland group,Delta outsource group) all for the same account for my room mate so it's not like they can denie it saying "we didn't know" your the losers that did it MORNOS!!

Lookes like all 3 collection company's just got busted on their own letter head and phone calls.

My room mate got a letter from "Delta Outsource group" saying he owed $516.96 for an account he's not paying from HSBC (House Hold Bank Credit) dated January 17th 2013. He also got a letter from "Northland group" saying he owed $774.44 on February 05 2013 for HSBC. Then got a letter from Portfolio recovery saying he owed $678.34 also for HSBC.

So what collection agency does he pay and what amount? 3 different collection services for one credit card.....REALLY?

Sounds like a load of crap to me. something is fishy. Could it be "portfolio recovery" is going under 3 different company names??? hummmm....???

Every opportunity you get "call forward the one you want to f*ck the most," and set your "number of rings til answer" to at least 5 to give you enough time to pick up friends and family before the call is forwarded. I love doing this and I do not mind the time it takes to do it either. You see... I call the State's Attorney and tell them of the abusive activity and beg the to get my phone records OR.. I get copies of my records and send them to them. They are very cool about this and most of the time I get an assisstant who does not mind logging the calls, times, and messages. They then know what alot of people go through. I suppose they will eventually do something about, (States Attorney), but, until then, I'll keep doing it. The people they are looking for here have moved on I suppose... we got this number about 6 months ago or so and they called for awhile back then and quit... now they are at it again. So call forward the pricks numbers to your favorite congressman, states attorneyor any other nonsense place and enjoy yourself while doing it.

I told you people 3 times of the last 3 weeks of calls.. No you can't speak to R HE'S DEAD.  3 years he's been dead you a-hoos.   Look up the county yourself B and pay the county your own 9 bucks for a copy of his death certificate, since you won't let me talk to a manager.  Harrass me and he's been dead 3 years and hasn't been here or at this number in 7 years.  Idiots.

Their new gimmick is to call twice in a day, from two different numbers, or maybe once in a while from the same number, and then skip a few days. What I can't figure out is what sort of idiots think that after pestering us for years, with  hundreds, if not thousands, of phone calls that have never been answered, there will be that magical day when suddenly, out of the blue, someone will answer the phone? Portfoolio Recovery, the experts on addiction who need to sober up themselves!

Daily calls from Portfolio Recovery. I blocked 2 of their numbers, but they keep calling from a different area. And the same response, they NEVER leave a message. I think its against the fair credit reporting act, but will have to research that...

Another call from Portfolio Recovery Associates using a unlisted number assigned to Hampton Virginia. This unlisted number: 757-864-0020, can not be confirmed as being a valid contact number used by this company.

Way to stop these harassment calls is to block the numbers and file complaints with the FCC & FTC. Best call blocker I use is the Digitone Call Blocker from Digitone Communications.  Best investment I ever did was to purchase one ot these units.   You can block any number by Area code only, (Area code & prefix) or full number.

I have had it with this company blaming me for a Best Buy account I never had.  I returned their everyday phone call today.  I asked for the name and connect for the CEO, but these people have no clue.  The current, I think, CEO is Steve Roberts who only posts a mailing address which is 120 Corporate Blve., Norfolk, VA  23502.  The prior or current depending on online infor was or is Steven Fredickson who can be reached at the same address.  There are about 200 phone numbers that they call you from.  I am done.  According to an article I read, they buy bad debt????, and made 52 million dollars last year.  These people are relentless, however, the power of the pen is my reply.   I will post the CEO's name and I will find out the number to call.  I am too relentless and will not stop till this harrassment company is stopped.  I do not believe in violence, but words and information to the public is curcial.  I will not not informing you!!!!!!!!!!

These people have no conscious. Even though they have the wrong person, they continue calling and will not converse with you. What a waste of resources.

Well, if that is all they do, I can live with that. But I worry that it might be a debt that a relative has and doesnt realize. Regardless, i have distinctive ringtones for each person I want to talk to, so when I get that other ring I just know not to answer. It is not really even that much of an annoyance.
