I work for them too. You're telling me things I already know, except half of what you're saying is incorrect. The thrift store is on Old Smoke Town Road in Woodbridge Virginia, and the name of the store is "The Village Thrift," and as you SHOULD know, the Purple Heart Foundation receives $12,000 per month from EVERY Purple Heart fundraising location, and as you SHOULD know there are eight locations. So the Purple Heart fundraiser receives A LOT of money per month. And btw, the managers don't make more money than any of the outbound/ inbound agents, they just work more hours. They are full time, whereas outbound agents are part-time.

Scam Artists apparently......

A girl by the name of Daquan just called here.  Very young and bad attitude.  Told her I've asked repetitively to be taken off the call list.  You could hear her sigh out an "ok" and definitely could hear her rolling her eyes.

They are a FOR PROFIT!!!  Not non profit

I currently work there and they pay all of us $9.25 to $10.25 an hour. (50+ of us)

they pay the supervisors more and they pay the two managers ALOT more.
heres how they work..
they call you asking for charity (clothing and household stuff) donations
you say yes
a truck comes by and picks up the clothing
the truck then dumps the clothing at the Chesapeake warehouse/depot.
after a few weeks all the donations get taken up north somewhere, where it is sorted
the donations then get sold in Virginia donor services stores (aka: "something" Avenue - don't remember exact store names)
they then donate a VERY SMALL percentage of the profit from selling the donations to the purple heart..

Yes they do.. I was a former telemarker for this group - They pay about 50 to 60 employees $9.00 an hour to collect for the purpleheart but what they then do it take the clothing donations and sell them in their own stores and donate the profit (after paying all of us, the call center manager that makes over 50k a year and the supervisors) to the purple heart. Its a rip off. DONT TALK TO THEM

I would like to point out that Virginia donor services fundraiser for Purple Heart is an organization that picks up old clothing and house hold items to benefit combat wounded veterans. THEY ARE NOT CALLING FOR ANY FINANCIAL DONATIONS. They are not telemarketers, and it is technically soliciting, but unlisted numbers do not apply to charaties, so they are not violating any type of rules or regulations. Purple Heart agents that call your home will immediately remove your number if you request, but it does take a few weeks for the number to be removed from the automatic dialer, because as you can imagine, there are a ton of people to be removed per month, and Purple Heart does call every 4-6 weeks, so sometimes the number is called again before it can be removed. Maybe next time they call you'll have a little more insight, and you won't hang up or curse them out.

Wow.  I thought these calls were from a legit group, but I don't them anyway.  I've called them back 3 times and requested to be taken off their call list.  They are always polite and respectful, which made me further think this was legit.  I submitted a complaint to the FCC, and then was going to go to their website to tell them I did that, and found this.  Now I know not to bother calling them and requesting to be removed.  3 times they have said they will personally ensure I am taken off, but of course, that's not done since I've received more calls.  You know, it's up to the phone companies at this point to stop allowing these lowlifes to spoof #s.  But I bet they pay the politicians enough so that won't happen by way of a law/bill.

They've called 4 times today.  I turned my phone off and have no intention of answering any calls from unknown numbers.  They never leave a message on Voice Mail.

Called today but I've turned my answering machine off!  I LOVE wasting their time (also have the ringer on low but I was at work anyway).  This has definitely cut down on nuisance/spamming/phishing calls.  I can always check CID to see if I need to return a call!

Yes, it is a Purple Heart organization looking for donors.  The operator was very nice and said they do not leave messages because they use an automatic dialer.

Caller ID: Virginia Donor.  Best move I ever made with the telephone; I set the answering machine at six rings.  This caller gave up after four.

I've been getting calls today about every hour or so but leaving no message.  If no message left, must not be important.  Finally I did get the number of last call and it was Purple Heart solicitation.  I do not appreciate these calls..

TELEMARKETER CALLS TRYING TO SOLICIT FOR PURPLE HEART FOUNDATION.. so they say.. PURPLE heart refuses to disclose their charitable information to the better business bureau despite numerous written requests.. telemarketer getting huge kickback for calls soliciting monies.

Military Order of the Purple Heart calling for a donation.

These morons have called me once every hour all day long! I did not answer, and finally had to block them through my VOIP provider's web interface.

This number comes back to Military Order of the Purple Heart in Chesapeake, Virginia. Probably legit, but I do not appreciate the calls. I do not answer ANY call I do not know who the caller is. Period.
