they keep calling me

this is another of the numbers for cra. Just called today and I saw it wasn't on here yet.

my wife received a call and thought they said it was someone from the VA, She called back and they said they needed a statement. They are a company called CRA. most likely a Debt Collection Agency.

CR Associates They are a fraudulent "collections" company. DO NOT give them any personal information!

10th number these idiots haved called me from - when they do leave a message it says they must hear from me or whatever attorney represents me today and that I clearly do not realize the importance or urgency of this matter and how much trouble I will be in if they do not hear from me immidiately! I cannot believe I can be harrassed like this on my cell phone - a luxury that I PAY FOR as a luxury and do not give my number to anyone that I do not want to have it! I would really like to know how they got my number. By the way they call me by my maiden name and my married name.

They called my son at work looking for me. They said they had some important documents to sign. He would not say what they were. These people are harrassing me and need to stop. Can I file a restraining order against them???

THEY KEEP HARRASSING FAMILY FOR MY FIRST NAME AND NOT MY LAST NAME. THEY WONT GIVE INFORMATION BUT WANT INFORMATION IN RETURN. WHEN WE STAR 67 THEN STAR 69 IT BACK TO GET THE NUMBER THEY PUT US ON HOLD FOR A LONG TIME AND WOULD NOT PICK THE PHONE BACK UP.

Mr. Goznell from CRA called and left a message today saying he needed to hear from me within the hour.  He said that he's tried to reach me a couple of times and was tired of chasing me.  This was the first call I received from them.  I have not contacted him yet, but I will, just to get him to send me his "verification" letter so I can challenge whatever debt he believes I owe.  There's information on the internet as to how to get these collectors off your back and to keep it off your credit report.  Never, ever, give these collectors your social security number or verify any credit card number.  They will try to trick you into it.  Do learn how to challenge any debt they say you owe, it will save you lots of frustration if you do it correctly.

I received a call from this number today also on my cell phone. They told me they were intern or interm group? She wouldnt say it slow enough for me to really hear. She said i owed them $1,000 on an account brought to their attention and how would i like to pay it....ok, first off who are you. Again, fast and wouldn't repeat it. Second, what is this for...she replies a credit card..not just a credit card. After prying for a couple minutes she tells me i have to pay the TAXES on a credit card. Never heard of that so i ask more. So when is this from? She tells me 1999! Well then, i have nothing to say to you since it wasd 11 years ago. FYI: theres NOTHING on my credit report. Nothing in bad circumstances that is. I inform her that if this is my real account, i'd need to see ALL receipts and the signatures from them in order to compare. My handwriting is never the same..especially since 1999. She informed me at that time that the DMV gave them a copy of my signature and THEY compared it already for me. Bu***hit. She said that they would send this to the IRS of all places. At that point in time i asked her if this was taxes that maybe i had paid over my credit card and she told me rudely that i was not understanding english. Hello? Born and raised in america. Why else would the IRS need to be involved? Regardless...I asked one more time what credit card this was and her response to me was.."well what credit card did you have in 1999?" HA! As uncouth as it was i replied "B***h i have no clue what i did yesterday let alone 11 years ago" and hung up. I have been informed that the local news ran a scam over the news (sorry its redundant) about a scam asking for you guessed it..$1,000. I was also informed after a multi text i sent to everyone i know that my aunt was told by a local judge to call local police, attorney general and even local news to report this. IF this was a true debt collection they would give any info you need IN WRITTING TO YOU..if they can get your cell, work, spouces cell..great aunt gemimas cell #s then they easily can add my debt to my credit report or find my address and send me valid info. Any info you give them may be recorded and "made to say what they want". Where it would stand up in a court i dont know because i was never told i was being recorded. They even told me i had paid on the account for 2 1/2 years and then stopped. She said were you sick or what? Nope...maybe the account was paid off at that point. And i plan on saying that if and when the IRS calls.

My wife keeps getting calls from this number and other numbers with a 757 area code.  We've never answered the calls because we only answer calls who's number matches a number we've placed in our telephone contact list.  Anyway, we appreciate being able to look this number up and see the stories written by others regarding this "CRA" scam.  We'll never answer the phone so I guess since that's the only way they attempt to make contact, we'll never know the scam they intended to perpetrate on us.  Thanks again everyone and I recommend everyone do the same thing...if you don't recognize the phone number, don't answer the phone.

Got a call from these guys today and they would not identify themselves beyond the CRA. Then just plain old rude. I have no debt so why call me. I called them back to verify and found another rude jerk on the line. I am passing to the attorney general.

They want to get personal info from you to ***steal your identity*** and are posing as a creditor trying to scare people into giving it to them. Do not!!! No legit creditor company will call and threaten you like this fake company does. Don't be fooled by them or scared! Eventually they will move on to someone else once they can't get info from you.

they called me this morning and immediately transferred the call to another person.  That person was very rude, and pretended to not hear me, keep asking "are you there, hello?"  Then she kept going on and on about some debt and wouldn't let me speak.  Then threatened to file a 1099 form to the IRS as canceled debt if I didn't pay.  She finally allowed me to speak, and when I said "do what you need to do, report it to IRS." and she said "Well, what's your worst case scenerio?"  I ask "What do you mean?"  she replies "What is the least amount of money you can pay us?"  I realized that they have no intention of taking any legal issues (even if there was any), I can prepare myself for it even if they tried.  So I answered, "not a penny" and hung up.  Do your research and do not be fooled into paying money to these a$$wipes.

Smart-alecky rude guy called from this number asking for someone by name (they had maybe had my phone number in the past).  When I told him this, he spontaneously hung up on me.

These scam artists just called me also.  First a lady asks me to verify my name, I comply, then rattles off my social security number and wants me to verify it.  I tell her I am not going to discuss in any way my social security number to a random caller.  She gets very rude and says "well, if hadn't interupted me I was about to say ""don't answer yet. I'm transferring you to a secured line. I'm transferring you now.""  Then a man came on and wanted me to verify my SS#. I told him the same thing I'm not going to discuss any personal data to a random caller, but if he will tell me what this is regarding, I'll try to help, if I can.  He started shouting over me that he was not asking for random information and that he needed this information before he could tell me what this was regarding and that if I didn't give it, I would suffer the consequences.  I hung up on him.  Had it not been for their extreme lack of professionalism, I might have eventually fallen for their scam and I certainly would not have looked them up had they not been so extremely rude.  Thank you all who have posted information about this scam artist.  I have had my identity stolen before and don't ever want to go through that again.

They tried to get me to verify my SS#, and got really rude when I said "Hell no." Just like tyou all have said -- they speak fast. They are trying to bully you into thinking you have to give them personal info like that. I'm keeping track of all calls they make to me, and filing a complaint. I guess with the Federal Trade Commission?

These people called me and started screaming at me.  Listed off my entire social security number and things on my credit report.  Saying they turning me in for 2900 of unearned income and I am like wtf!  I dont even know who these people are telling me to contact an attorney within an hour to call them back, wont tell me who they are representing and then when I called them back michelle de silve said are you going to pay the bill or not and Im like what bill!  told me not to call them back, called back 3 times and she said if you keep calling us I am getting you for harassment and then blocked my number!

CRA called me again. Still not answering.

We get calls from them daily and they leave no message.  We owe no debts and no past dues.  They finally left a message today to call them back because they have "a situation in their office that we are aware of that needs to be addressed"  I was like wtf?!?!?

yesterday they started calling my cell phone.

Second time in two days that this number has called.  I never answer numbers I don't recognize so after reading what has been written, I am glad I didn't answer.  Second time they left a call back number saying it was extremely important that I call them back.  The number was 877-311-7783.  They said they were from CRA.  I recently checked my credit report and there is nothing on it so I will not call them back.  Scary stuff.  I hope they move on to someone else soon.
