This number was used to text me details of a scam for a condo for rent in Tampa.

A Collection agency is not allowed to call you more than once a day, or before 8:00 am or after 9:00 pm and can instructed them not call you at work, you are not allowed to recieve personal calls at work.   If they become rude  or use unexceptalbe lanauage or make thearts.  Again they are in viloation of the Collection Laws, and can be sued

Being an old debt collector myself, all you have to say is "You are to decease and desist in the collection of this debt and is not owed."  

By law if they contact you again they are in viloation and the collector(s) and the company can be posectued, with out exceptions.

I received a call as well, from a identiy thief from the 90's.  The individual on the other end whom made the call started screaming at me as well, and using explaintory remarks, when I ask to speak to one of his superiors, his remark to his superior whom was standing by or was on the auto speed dial, that I hung up on him when I still on the line when started asking questions.

I immeditaly called back and got his boss and we had a little chat,  I will not be hearing back from him or his dumb a** collectors.

I just got a call from this number as well. I didn't recognize it, but I answered it anyway. The lady asked for me by name but I told her it was a wrong number. She said "Well this is the number she told me I could reach her at". That is bold face lie! I haven't talked to anyone like that lately or even in the last few months, and I sure as heck didn't tell someone that. Lying a**holes.

1-757-986-1176  This number called me from Norfolk, VA. I know no one from there. They did not say what they wanted. I receive so many calls that I collect them then turn them in to the FTC. I received 16 calls in one day a few minutes apart from one number. It was supposedly a college in CO but the calls were from Roselle, IL. ????

I also got a call from this # nobody was there just kept telling me to hold so I hung up glad i looked here I wont answer next time

Just got a call from CRA 757.986.1176 at work, they asked for me and gave my last 4 digits of my SS which was correct and told me I owe a debt then transferred me to a supervisor. When the supervisor came on she told me I had an outstanding debt of 400+ dollars from a bad check I told her that wasn't true I never write checks, never have never will so I asked when was this (bad loan) she told me in 2004 so I knew she was lying because I didn't even have a checking's account only a saving. I asked her to send me something in writing she told me they have sent several notices I said to what address he gave me an address of a street I never lived on she told me I'm going to go back and forth with you, you owe the money I told her well come and get it lying sack of shytttt. If you sent me notices than you know my address fu@k off!! Then she hung up on me!!!  I had an incident before like this and reported them to the BBB and it's a scam never, ever send these scum bag idiots any money no matter what they say, what information they have (address, social security number), they pay companies to release information to them.

I get one a day from that number and never have they left a message.  However if I do answer their call I pity the person on the other end.  Mess with their heads.

This was the perfect reply.  There actions are totally illegal as you indicate.  FILE THAT COMPLAINT PEOPLE.  

There was another agency up north (ie NY area) that was soo incredibly evil in their actions that the guy on the other end had a heart attack and died. His widow successfully sued the agency.

Stop these actions by filing complaints

I got a call today from 757-986-1176. Pretty much same story as everyone else, but they were talking about a CC from 1994-2000. I asked why this would even be an issue since it's been 11+ years since and they gave me some BS. So I asked for them to mail me a letter about all this and that's when they hung up on me. It's a scam, not worried about it, and won't answer that number again IF they actually call back.

I got a call from these fools too, just do like me and tell them that they are breaking the law by calling and harrassing you and that you are going to call the police and report them for harassement. They will hang up very fast and never call back again

I got a call from 757-986-1176.  They didn't leave a message.  I will flag the # in my phone as NO Bill and when it pop up I know to let it go to voicemail or they hangup (don't make me none).  You don't have to be upset.  If you don't pay they will sell the account to someone else and the cycle will begin again.  After 10 years you don't owe the debt it's no longer on your credit report.  So ignore silly people.  People need to learn that the shoe can be on the other foot at any given time.  Treat people the way you would like to be treated.  I use to be a bill collector and I never talked ugly to people and almost always got my money.

I keep getting calls from this number.  They don't leave a message and when I call back, an automated system places me on hold indefinitely.

I just got a call from 757-986-1176 on my work cellphone too. Lady caller asked for Julia .....and when I told her nobody by this name at this number she asked do you know her? Then she hung up.

Caller didn't identify herself,  but asked for someone I wasn't familiar with. When I asked her what department this person may work in, she apologized profusely for calling a business number and hung up.  Maybe next time I'll get these rude folks everyone else has had to deal with.

I have a friend, who works for an attorney for people who needs help to stop the harssament from these debt collectors. The attorney chrgers the debt collection agency not you. The attorney write up a complaint in your behave and collects money. Call for me details....at 949-573-7965, just say that lisa refer you....Call they can help to stop these callls...

I just got a call  from 757-986-1176. They left a message for a man - didn't pay much attention who, but it was from a Mr. Jackson. He asked this person to call him back about his account and left an account number. I called back and the lady was very nice, I told her I got a call and it's a wrong number. She asked what number needs to be removed and she said she would do so.

They don't accept calls with blocked caller ID. Low-life bottom feeding scum. Probably a subsidiary of Portfolio Recovery Associates. My advice: Never answer a call from an unknown number. Do not call back. Keep the floodgates closed. They will only get you agitated and perhaps say something that could be construed as culpability for a debt that is past the statue of limitations or other such BS. The best way to tell these guys to F.O. is to not tell them anything.
