Nobody is there when we answer.

This is a collection agency.  CBE Group is how it is answered when you call back.

Thanks for this info - I belive it is a collection agency as well cause as soon as I answer they hang up.  They are trying to confirm if it is your home or work number.

they called  lots of times . they seem pretty consistent  considering I never even put a phone on this line. The activity coming from this numbe is aggresive .

They are in violation of MULTIPLE rules the Fair Debt Collect Practices.

The only way they will stop their practices is if people stand up to them and make it clear it wont be tolerated.

Hi I am experienceing that same number with nemerous calls.I am also with at&t and have the solstice phone that I purchased from at&t for fifty dollars after a 50 dollar rebate. this phone has the feature to block unwanted callers. which i have used in the past and it works fine. Maybe this is a option it would be cheaper in the long run to buy the phone than to pay ongoing fees. Good luck!

I received a call on my cell from that people. they some how had my name, but the wierd thing is that they were asking me to talk to me on a personal busniess matter. I know that my credit reort is fine. so who are these people? does anyone have an idea to block numbers without paying the phone company? I do not owe anyone any money so how is a collection company calling?

MY GOODNESS...

Right after I submitted my earlier post today (11/12/09), I received 2 MORE calls from the same number (last call i received was at 7:50pm).  After my 1st post, I was wondering if I was a victim of identity theft.  Went to Experian's website to get my free credit report, checked it out and I am fine...

Then I called my cell phone company wanting to know how I can block this annoying call.  AT&T told me there's a fee of $4.99/month to block calls from numbers you don't want or I they can change my phone number(not my choice at this moment since all the important people have my current #).  I'm going to check my cell to see if I have that blocking feature (doubt it).  It's just so ridiculous having to pay 5 bucks a month to block this idiot that calls so often.  :(

If anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this, please reply to my post.

BTW... when i decided to call back, yes... it was a company called CBE.

No answer, no message.... nothing?? wierd called 3 times also...

It is a number in the Temperanceville, VA area. (did a search on the number)

If it's a collection agency's that calling (as 1 of the posts says), I do not have any credit issues.
