these are Asset Acceptance - a very aggressive and abrasive collection agency

Punch you in the head, you stop talking.
tinker 2012-06-26 15:12:43 Unknown
this is a company called assest protection (bill collector). They are asking for someone not in my household.
I am sick of the calls and do not answer.
Lisa 2012-05-14 17:33:12 Unknown
Received a call from this number, caller ID reported it as "Asset Acceptance". I do not have any outstanding bills and have never done business with them. I did not answer, no message was left. This call came in 15 seconds after another one from 313-444-2971 which reported Detroit Michigan by caller ID, which also left no message. I imagine they are probably numbers for the same outfit calling back trying to get someone to pickup.

I received a call from "Emma" who did not give me her company name and wanted to verify my address and lst four numbers of my social security number. There is no way this is legitimate! I was able to place a block on my number.

this caller 1 (757) 990-8984 has called me repeatedly at work & leaves no voice mail

I received a call from this number and a message was left stating they were with Asset Acceptance.

They called, I did not recognize the number so I did not answer. I called back and the recording said:
"Asset Acceptance"
This is a collection company, and not as dirty as NCO as they change numbers but not with the frequency that NCO does.
On a smart phone, add the number to contacts and set the ringer and message alert off, this way the phone lights but the ringing doesn't happen while your working and people don't point at your phone when you try to ignore it...
Here is my two cents, if you owe, generally you want to pay.. If you don't have money, you work to get money.. Only thing that drives this maddening calling on are really those who have the money and owe it but spend it on things they don't need like soda..
Hey here is something a bit funner... http://PartyTeaParty.com we will be putting up funny tea party pictures.. If you want your picture up there, watch for when we open to having pictures and be first to get your funny picture up there..

They are a collection agency that specializes in FDCPA VIOLATION!! If you are an attorney who sues collection agencies, there's a bundle to be made here! Their phone system says Asset Acceptance and what came across Caller ID is "Later Bill." They like to call anyone they think knows the debtor and try to harrass that person into giving them info.

I get these too and my caller ID says it is Asset Acceptance Co. When I answer they hang up????

No message and no ID. Called today and twice last week.
Jason 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
To Ron:
Log into the account and make sure there aren't new purchases. If you know you didn't make them, report them as fraud.
sue 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
no message and no I.D. This number seems to be one of a series all of which have different area codes and numbers.
jerry 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
No message, but caller ID comes up as "Later Bill"?
vic 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
this is a call from a collection firm called Bill Me Later. These guys have about 1,000+ different telephone numbers
Greg 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
This is a collection company for a few different credit providers. If you are hearing from them then you have probably missed a payment or two.
Ray 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
It is not a collection agency. Bill me Later is a way of paying for online purchases. You have to apply just like a credit card. It is used by numerous online merchants. They are affiliated with a major bank. I believe that it is Citibank.
Del 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
This company calls a lot and keeps asking for a relative. The thing here is it comes up as a cellular call. This is in my opinion false and mis leading. I have been a collector before.
shreeve 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
Definitely from BillMeLater. Pay your bill, the calls will stop.
Other BillMeLater numbers:
800-684-4340
310-862-9032
253-248-6407
Keith 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
They need to understand that sometimes people that owe them money get their phone number changed and that they should not harass the new owner of the phone number. I am constantly getting calls from people that the previous number owner owed cash too. Also I would think that the cell company would not recycle the numbers so quickly. I know when I worked for one of the baby bells the disconnected numbers were not reissued for two months.
Ron 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
Well I have(HAD)an account with bill-me-later, and it was PAYED ON TIME IN FULL...
Anybody else want to theorize?
Paula 2011-06-06 20:56:27 Unknown
I have been receiving calls from 253-248-6407 and 888-693-1045 every single day for the past three days. I do have a bill me later account, however, the payment has been paid and was not late. They are driving me crazy. I will certainly never use their services again. They actually border on harassment once you use them. Beware!
Keith 2008-06-27 18:40:37 Unknown
I have told these people on at least 20 calls over two months that the previous owner no longer has this number but yet they continue to call about every 4 days.
dan 2008-06-12 23:02:59 Unknown
they call me twice a day. when i pick up they always hang up and when i ignore it, they dont leave a message. I would imagine any legit company that is owed money would be leaving a message. And I have never used bill me later.
I wouldnt trust this at all
jamie 2008-06-12 14:43:43 Unknown
It's true, I believe it's from bill me later. They want their money now! I still owe them money, hence the couple numbers they use to call me. I have owed them for about a year now. I do have to say, they are pretty nice about getting their money back and doing what it takes for you to pay it off.......... never use bill me later unless you can pay it off quickly though......... V_V;
sigh... 2008-04-03 13:35:09 Unknown
i just got a call from this "cellular number" which fooled me into answering. It is bill me later (billmelater.com)... whom I do owe money to.
But one thing I can say about these people, I have owed them for years now, they are by far the nicest people to talk to. They don't push, they are never nasty, they are not outsouced, so its easy to understand english. On this call, they only wanted 30.00, and when i said yes, she took off 3 months of finance charges without my asking for anything.
I just wish I would stop forgetting to pay my bill
lpdm0923 2008-03-31 12:00:28 Unknown
I got 5 calls almost in a row from this in one day this weekend! No voicemails, nothing.
Mel 2008-03-04 20:43:34 Unknown
I just received a call from this number at my office. I answered and gave our office greeting and was hung up on. I called it back and found out this is a number for Bill Me Later.
