After numerous scam calls, we just put the answer button off so they get no message - they do not leave one anyway - we have NOT been on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY for over a year now because we learned that someone compromised it - in other words - they took numbers from it. This was NOT the Government's fault.
Questioned Verizon & was told that people are able to get numbers from them in various ways - companies they deal with.  It's all about the MONEY - times are going to change.
This was one of 3 different scams today - ENOUGH!

Dear Deidra
You said >>> We are so sick of these stupid calls, and we are on the do not call list...which does absolutely NOTHING! <<<

You mean like this?

The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Report your callers here:

And here are the links to read and understand what the DNC's are, what they do and what they do not.

Called tonight, caller ID read "Urgent"...and of course no message was left.  If we don't know the number, we no longer answer, just let it go to voicemail.  We are so sick of these stupid calls, and we are on the do not call list...which does absolutely NOTHING!  We too are considering taking our home phone out completely, and just use a cell.  Pretty darn sad we have to go to such things.  I too have blocked the number...but they just get around it and use another one.  It's never ending.

I don't care if these folks call my landline.  I couldn't care less - I've got CallerID, a message recorder, and a phone ringer that I can turn off!  I've got to have this number as a repository for telemarketers and scammers so they don't call my real numbers. I simply screen all calls and keep absolute control over my callers and my responses to them, if any.

This Callerid reads 'Cell Phone CA.'. This is their first call, and they didn't leave a message.

I am so so tired of calls from all these numbers. I block and block and block and think I have the calls stopped and then up pops another number I have to block! Im thinking of just uninstalling my home phone. All I ever get is bs calls on it anyways. Im beginning to think the telephone co.s sell the numbers. This call had nothing in the caller id but "cell phone CA" and then the number. Im sick of it !!! Soon I'll have so many numbers blocked I wont be able to block anymore as there is a limit of numbers I can block thru my provider. ughhhh!

Terrific - another reason not to answer the phone. This call appeared as "URGENT," along with the phone number, and I thought if it's so urgent, there will be a message - of course there wasn't. Googling the number, I saw that it came from Digitcom Services, Inc., out of San Marcos, CA, selling weight-loss programs. Keep your weight-loss to yourself and don't call me again. Do you think the people at Digitcom and all the others that sell this crap actually read these postings? Too bad they don't do anything to stop the calls.

This some scare tactics for Seniors (I am one). I hing up as soon as I heard "Attention Seniors". Usual low-life scammers. Getting a lot of thesis types of calls lately. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their beds!

Called at noon, no msg left on my machine.  Caller ID read, besides phone number, in the name line: "Urgent".  Obviously BS.
