Called my cell and did not leave a message. I do not know anyone in California, if that's in fact where they are calling from.

there are diferent applications for phones that let you block calls and texts...or call your service company and ask them for help blocking numbers.

keep getting calls from them - I am on a do not call list - but keep getting calls from them. I want it stopped

Caution,My cell phone that receives, repeated calls from 760-242-8473 is an IPHONE, that I plug in to my laptop to use as a hotspot [internet connection] It could be an automated call trying to access or identify anyone else has this situation please post.

I got the same call 9/05/2013. Lady offering to lower my interest. So I asked which card/bank is she reffering to. She said "Visa" (like who doesnt have Visa?), but could not say which bank, at which point I knew it was a scam. So I asked what city she was calling from, and she said "thats none of your business". You can imagine what MY response to that was. But I did get-in the last word before I was cut off.

They called me too about me having a credit card and wanting information.
They need to be stopped.

Got a call at 10:58am CST did not pick up. No voicemail left.

Cancel your credit card.  Get a new one re-issued.  Put an alert on your credit profile with all three companies.

I received call from 760-242-8473. They did not leave a message and when I returned call, it was busy several times. I have credit cards but they are the lowest rates already. Obviously a scam if it is a busy signal and not a call center that can take hundreds of calls at once.

Good idea!  I do the same in  my cell, and even assign the "cricket" ring tone to any number that turns out to be a scammer call.  Since it's different than my main ring tone, I don't even have to look at the screen.

It apears that you might need to call your credit card company, and your bank.  I would tell them that your wallet/id was stolen so they'll issue you new account #'s.  You might want to call the local police to report these people, as well.  If they do attempt to scam money from you, then you will need to call the Social Security administration to report it, and I believe that they'll issue you a new number.

I just received a call at 10:45 today.  I didn't recognise the number, so I didn't answer it.  I googled the number, which led me to this page.

They tried to hit me up about an hour ago. No message.  Busy upon callback.

THIS IS A SCAM.  They claim they are Credit Card Services and are going to lower your interest rate on all your credit cards but then they ask for personal information.  I asked him to send me the information in the mail and I'll look it over and he said that they only do business over the phone.  Then when I asked him the name of the company and their website, he hung up.  He tried to call me again from a different phone number and when I told him I wasn't interested and to stop calling me, he hung up.
DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION!  I will be reporting this to the BBB.

just got a call on my cell 923 am didnt recognize so didnt answer. for junk calls on my iphone I create a contact called ignore. I use a blank ringtone and no vibrate setting.. They will only bug me once like that   :)

Just got a call from this number on my mobile phone at 8:46 AM while leaving for work. Didn't pick it up since I do not answer calls I do not recognize. Never left a message. Googled it as soon as I arrived to work and found this page. Thanks for all the reports everyone. I know to avoid this number in the future definitely. Someone with legal knowledge or who has a good lawyer should probably contact the local police for the area in California that this number is registered and report them. If it's something like a Google Voice number to cover their tracks, perhaps a Cyber Crimes unit should be informed. I would say this is more than a scam. It sounds like out and out theft is going on here. Very shady. Very big crime.

I answered and they hung up. Tried calling back and it's always busy. Dumb F*** people don't call me and then hang up and then NEVER answer. The call is coming from California.

It came up as California call. I don't know anybody there, & have no debt but norm + my student loan, so it seemed suspicious. I too am on the "do not call" list, so I looked it up with a google search, out of curiosity. Thanks for sharing, everybody!

I got a call from this number. I didn't answer it because I didn't recognize the number now I'm glad I didn't. I hate scammers they need to go get a real job like the rest of hard working people that are just trying to make ends meet.

Got a call from them on my cell.  I thought I covered stuff like this with the "Do not call" registry.

I totally just got scammed with this indian creep. I so totally know better. He now has the info to access my credit card if he calls ase because he has the last 4 of my ss. My street address a mm d date of birth. What should I do know now?  Its the same california number that everyone is talking about. Please help with any advice. Thanks
