Ha-sounds like you folks have gotten same calls I have received but @ this time,Iv'e only received a few calls in same day from same heavily-accented individual that also "wished me good-luck." My bad connection also, only allowed me to understand his 1st name-Robert-which I let answering machine accept because I did not know the # & I do heavy call screening. His # tho was 760-278-3027 & w/small amount of info I retrieved thru reverse call look-up he's calling fr Blythe,Ca.I am in process w/Lexington Law for cleaning up my credit & since LLaw started sending challenge letters to creditors,of which I do owe a few, calls have increased fr various challenged creditors so I look @ caller ID & usually let answering machine take it.When phone rings I simply mute ringer & listen-or not-to msg.I am on SSDis & wages can not be garnished. This fella isn't 1st 1 to recently call me & to them I think,"Wish U Good Luck Too." LOL. Simply, don't let them get to you. I like other gentleman's idea of calling them back & tying up their time, but I simply ignore them which also ties-up their time waiting for my Now set @ 5-max. rings before it answers.

I continually get calls from a Pakistani accented guy who goes by David Jones, sometimes Nevan Jones and sometimes Brandon Brown. He claims he is from the Federal Bureau of Legislation San Francisco and that he will be filing a subpoena for my arrest if I don't pay an unpaid loan.

They repeat my FULL SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, my FULL BANK ACCOUNT number, my mother MAIDEN NAME, my parents and families addresses, etc.  They call my employers, family, friends etc. scaring them by saying they are going to arrest me.  They are a SCAM!

I reported them to the Better Business Bureau but since they are not an accredited business, they can't do anything.

I reported my identify theft to the Federal Trade Commission (reference my complaint #31829711 as well) 877-438-4338.

I reported them to the three main credit bureaus

One of the numbers they call from is 760-278-1372.  I googled that phone number and found they are located in Blythe, CA.  I notifed the Blythe, CA police (Detective Cornwell @ 760-922-6111).  They also have called me from 877-273-3560 and 573-340-5662.  The phone provider these phone numbers belong to is Magic Jack which is a flash drive you can insert in any laptop and there is no way of tracing where they are.  They could be calling you from another country...no way to tell.

I am reporting them to my local police department and the two police departments will work together to try to catch them.

If you are a victim of this fraud, please contact:

1. Notify the Blythe CA Police department (detective Cornwell) at 760-922-6111 AND your local police department

2. Notify all 3 credit bureaus
EXPERIAN https://www.experian.com/fraud/center.html
EQUIFAX  https://www.alerts.equifax.com/AutoFraud_Online/jsp/fraudAlert.jsp
TRANSUNION 1-800-680-7289

3. Notify the Federal Trade Commission (my report # is 31829711 feel free to use my case # so they can join all the complaints together) https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

4. Notify your bank and any other bank or credit card providers

Take action and file complaints with all authorities so we can catch these guys!

I received a call from a woman who gave her name as Annie Joseph from this number. It appeared as 0000 on my caller ID. I couldn't understand the name of the agency they claim to represent. The woman has a Philippine Accent. She addresses me by name and left the following message: "If you don't return the call and I don't hear from your attorney either, the only thing I can do is wish you a good luck as the situation unfolds on you"

Sounds like a subtle threat to me. I recently applied for and received a payday loan which I've since paid in full. I don't recommend anyone use a payday loan if they can help it. That may be how the caller got my information. You are far better off borrowing from friends and family.

I have received calls from this number as well as many of the numbers that The Saint has in his review.  I have not given these people any money but they have threatened me, called me at my work, called my family, threatened them and me with jail and arrest.  I know that I can be be arrested for a civil issue but that does not mean that these people are not trying to get money from me.  I always try to get them to give me information so I can track them and report them.  I believe this is a SCAM.

you obviously need to read the previous posts.  even though the call tracks to california, it is certainly not being made from california.  just like google voice or any phone software that this hack is using, they are able to set a decoy phone number which may then direct to a phone in india or god knows where.

you can call 760-278-1791 and bother the guy.  it has been the same guy for several days.  strong indian accent. He knows my number and will rarely answer and then, when he tries his scheme i get a few words in and he hangs up usually.  his english is very proper, however when he speaks fast and mumbly it's hard to make out the words.  he has a short fuse if you push his buttons, i've heard some very foul words out of his mouth when i pressure and call him out. he is a low life loser, i asked him why he couldn't get a real job and he said "i have a good job, i take your money".  the guy is quite a joke when you really try to talk with him.  The problem is, after all these conversations i've had, nobody can find him?  i find that so hard to believe.  Surely we as a country/government can put the resources together to stop this S.O.B.  If i can just pick up the phone and make a call, i feel like somebody should be able to do the same thing and track him.

my point is, he took hours of my time (until i googled the number) There is no real reason to contact an attorney, they don't really want to speak with an attorney it's all scare tactic.

I received a phone call from an UNKNOWN number on my caller id several weeks ago. I have several numbers for these people 319-242-7342, 707-895-4738, and the new number today 760-278-1791. The man on the phone had a heavy indian accent and said his name was Sam Wilson. He told me that my husband was facing 3 criminal charges for not paying a cash advance loan back. He said to me I am going to read off the charges to you and you are not allowed to speak until I am finished. The charges he said against my husband were check fraud, worthless check writing and something else. Before I go any farther anyone who is contacted by these people need to know several things. 1. These people have a lot of personal information about you (its not that hard to get). 2. Under the FDCPA if the debt is truly owed you have to be given something in writing telling you about the debt and you as a consumer have 30 days to dispute that debt. 3. This guy wanted me to write a letter and fax it to him with a prepaid card number also stating in that letter that I would not dispute that debt. 4. He never asked my husband if it was ok to speak with me about this. ( thats against the law too). The original number he gave me was not a working number. So when he called back I informed him that the number did not work and I had contacted an attorney about this. He then became very angry and said I was making him out to be a fool. He then said that his investigation team would be at my husbands work to arrest him the following Monday. Monday came and the investigation team never did show up. Then about 3 weeks later my husbands work was contacted from a 760-278-1791 number and this time Charlie asked for my husband to contact him back. My husbands employer will inform them that they are not allowed to contact my husband at work because that is against the law as well. If this were a legitimate debt collection agency they would know this and know that harrassment at my husbands work would bring them trouble. So I have contacted my attorney again and gave them name and numbers again. My advice to anyone is just hang up on these people they are bottom feeders and I have no time for this. There is no such thing as debtors jail. For anyone who has a payday loan out, it is not worthless check writing because these people gave you a loan knowing you did not have the funds in your bank account and they ask you to pay it back in two weeks. Although I would love to get a working number for these people and call them like one of the above posts said. I could aggervate them the way they have done us.

Yup, these guys are scammers!  The funny thing is you can call them right back and talk to them.  I've called them 3 dozen times and given them hell just to waste their time.  I don't give them any information i just tell them they are breaking the law, the i get a whole bunch of obscene comments and they usually hang up.

I just called a little bit ago and after i gave him my phone number, which he already has, He said "oh mother f'er, again!"  i said yup you got it buddy i'll call u all day everyday!

I told him he called the wrong dude this time and i'm going to make it a point to take up as much of their time as possible.

I received a voice mail today with the same exact script as the person below stated.  My caller ID showed the phone number as 916-395-0000 the caller also had a thick accent he said  that me or  my attorney had to call for an urgent time sensitive matter-something about me being sued and I was to call 760-278-1791-if I didn't call then I would need good luck-as though someone was going to harm me.

I received a call from this number also from someone with a heavy Indian accent.  They left a threatening message and were very rude when I called.  I don't owe any money for a payday loan.  I did apply on a website that sends your information to other companies.  BIG BIG MISTAKE.  I'm going to report them.

I got the name James Barker.  Law office in California.  This guy tried to say he was calling to tell me i was being sapeina'd and that there was 3 counts against me for monetary fraud, and fradulent checks, all kinds of BS.  He said i would have to appear in court tomorrow in california and that the local sheriff would serve my papers this afternoon.

I kept asking who he was callin on behalf of and he just said "cash advance"  I waited a couple hours and called the number back and was actually able to talk to somebody again.  This person was the same person i talked to before withthe same lines of BS and the same foreign accent.   I gave him nonexistant information this time just to play his own game.  He then said he was going to hang up and hung up on me.

The person calling from this number says his name is James Millham (?) and has a very thick foreign accent.  He tells me to call right away and if I don't all he can say is "good luck".  Almost like a threat.  I'm about ready to call the police.  He called at least ten times today.  The connection was very poor and he was very hard to understand.
