From the sound of it, scammers are scamming bandwidth.com's technology. They appear to be fishing for phone numbers and scamming those who seem like easy prey.

I reported the following to the FCC (I suggest others do so as well): https://esupport.fcc.gov/ccmsforms/form1088.action

We're getting calls on our land line from several numbers with a 719 area code on a daily basis. I never answer because I don't recognize the numbers on caller ID (they show up as "out of area" except they're in our area). Whenever my husband answers, nobody responds so he hangs up. Tonight he called the numbers back and received messages indicating the phone numbers are not in service. Then I looked them up online via Reverse Lookup (one of them is listed as "unknown in Colorado"); the other is listed as ownd by bandwidth.com VOIP, Colorado Springs, CO. Here's the actual number via Reverse Lookup: http://www.whitepages.com/phone/1-719-325-8760

Thanks for 800 number. I'll try calling tomorrow.

It looks like this is happening all over, not just in my state: http://www.callercomplaints.com/SearchResult.aspx?Phone=707-200-4189

They seem like a serious bunch of kooks no matter who they are. What's the point of calling on a daily basis and then hanging up every time someone answers? Somebody is up to no good.

And here's what Wikipedia has on bandwidth.com: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bandwidth.com

I kept receiving calls from this number as it appeared to be from California. The foreign voice on the  other end of the phone threatened me about a lawsuit on a cash advance I never recieved. They gave me information like the last four of my ssn, bank and routing numbers and the amount of the loan. Once I verified with my bank that I never had any kind of cash advance, I called back. The man apologized and hung up. Well I called back, now I want to know who the company is again that he workds for and why would they make a mistake like that and how the blank did you get my information? The person would not answer my questions he just said repeatedly, I am not yelling at you why are you so upset. I asked the question again and the phone kept hanging up. I even called from a different number and they humg up. So two days go by and again they calling. I told them look, someone called the other day and it is not happening I never had a loan, the man interruptted me and started mocking me. I cursed him, hoped his daughters died and hung up.( I asked God to forgive me for that) They started calling from 911 three times, I ignored the call. Then they called from another number a 465 772 1790. When I answered they hung up when I dialed the number back it said I reached a number that was not working.

I first received a call on march 19. I went to police station and the cop called number back and asked them personal questions. Once he identified himself as a cop, they hung up. They called my cell phone again today and left a message. They then called my job. I Hung up. They called back. I threatened them with the cops. They asked for my boss which I didn't give them. I asked where he went to law school and was told that's privileged info. This time they blocked their number though.

These people have been calling me telling me that I am being investigated by the Department of  Which I cant understand as well as the name of the man who is calling me, because the Indian sounding voice is so construed. He gives me my last four ssn # 's and then tells me he knows that I live in ****(my address), and says that I need to have my attorney's information because of some big investigation for something I have done. When I ask him what is this about I get no real info but some mumbled nonsense. I have been looking online at all the problems people are having and they are pretty bad scam, creeps. I really hate that they have a lot of my personal info, the only thing that relaxes me is the fact that I really have nothing for them to steel, no money right now. I guess I will follow the recommended advise and report that this is happening to the police. And I am also going to see about changing my phone number and talking to the bank to see what they recommend.

So sick of these people! They have been calling me for almost 2 months now! I've been called on my cell phone, at home and at work. Suppsedly I have a law suit against me (that came and went) for the state of California that I was never saw a document for. Now they're saying I committed a fraud. It's absolutely RIDICULOUS! I called my local police station and they said that really there's nothing they can do unless they do something to my bank account or something to my credit. I wish there was a way to get them to stop. I'm afraid they're going to get me fired :( The police department did say, however, that they confirmed that it was a scam and to ignore the calls as annoying as they are.

Received a call @ my job. Caller said he was Danny Williams with Dept. Of Law.  I hung up and reported the information to FBI. This is about the 20th call. I get them from multiple #'s. Don't even acknowledge them. My employer agreed to tell them i passed away in hopes they'll eventully stop callin. When I rally in Washington with our government to pass a law on continually allowing phone service to reported scammers I'll be back on here to let every victim know, it's absurd

I got 3 calls today saying I was fraudulent on a pay day loan.  I never received any money from that type of loan.  They threatened me with an arrest warrant coming at me.  I can never get the full name of their company from them.  I'm not sure what to do.

This person with a very heavy Indian accent keeps calling me looking for a former subcontractor who worked for me. Evidently the subcontractor took a pay day loan using me as their employer, I am not their employer for one thing. Now I am getting these harrassing calls looking for this person. They want to hear from them or their attorney in order to avoid proceedings. Why am I getting the phone calls?? If it does not stop, I will be filing charges of my own against both the caller and the former subcontractor.

Prank Call
These people have been calling me from all kinds of numbers for the last year.  I made the mistake of applying for a "payday" loan and this is how they got the information.  I demanded they tell me who I owed the money to and they immediately said "Cashnet Central" which was the payday loan company I applied at.  Apparently these types of sites - Payday loans - are really easy to hack into and get people's information.  I also found out that Household Bank has had their files hacked into by these people.  Let them know that you are reporting them to HIPA and FDCPA and it should stop - at least for awhile.
I have also found that do not have our entire social security number, just the last 4 digits.  But the field they have no problem getting into is your references.  They are very fake and use a voice scramber as well.  This is why they sound foreign.  They are a pain more than anything else!  It just stands to be very careful what you fill out on line - nothing these days is hacker free!

I got the same phone call from them. They have called my job several times after I told them to stop calling.  They call my home phone at least 3x a day and they are extremely rude and threatening. They have given out my personal info on my answering machine and  also told people at my employer that there is a lawsuit against me and the alleged reason why.  When I called back they were rude and said I was being sued for $7000 on a $300 payday loan that i supposedly took out.  Total scam!!!!!

THIS IS A SCAM. Scammers pretend to be law enforcement (police, sheriff, Feds, AG's Office, fake cop agencies with made-up names) and using bought/hacked loan application data to extort money for fictitious crimes or your personal ID.

For 2 days I've been investigating 2 numbers....760.282.4216 and 760.495.0924 because they have been calling my daughter at work and her cell.  Here's what I have found out.
The 760.495.0924 belongs to Pac-West Communications and they have given the number to these scam people.  They are very nice and said they would call the people who have this number and tell them to stop calling my daughters numbers, other wise, stop and assist.  So, here is the Pac-West number to call.  800.511.9048  call them and they should get the hint to do something about this.  Also, notify your police department and I have been recording the scammers on my cellphone.
The 760.282.4216 belongs to Bandwidth.com.  I called them and they verified that this number did belong to them but I would have to make a police report first in order to do something.  I think if we all call them they will be pushed into doing something.  Bandwidth.com's number is....800.808.5150 they have several different numbers to push so just keep trying until you get a human voice.
You have to start somewhere in fighting these people so take the time and get involved.  I'm still trying other methods to fight them myself.  Good Luck and I will post whatever I find out.

Some dude with an Indian accent called me from this number saying their name was Sean Stifler from the Department of Law and Investigations and left me a message saying that I had a legal matter with them and that if I didn't call them back he wished me good luck.  Obvious red flag, especially with an Indian man impersonating a federal agency with an American name.  Also sounded like the guy was on a cell phone driving around.  Do a Google search of "department of law and investigations" and read on the multiple posts by people who found out these Indian b*****ds are frauds and scam artists.  DO NOT fall for these Indian scumbags' tricks and threat.  These b*****ds will use whatever technique they can to get you to pay them.  Save the number they called you from and report them to the police, FTC, FBI, etc..
