Same thing happened to me yesterday/today, although it is a different phone number. The number I got a call from was 929-268-0296 but it was the same type of call that you all have gotten. He had my SS #, place of employment, address, birthdate, etc. and said I was being sued b/c of a payday loan (which I haven ever gotten) that when they tried to withdrawl funds, there wasn't any available so I was being sued for 900-some dollars. They also mentioned credit card debit and medical bills, but I don't have either of those.

Changed my bank account, becuase they had my institiutions' name, and put a fraud alert on my credit check. Any other suggestions?

Got a call from someone named Alex Matthews, with an assistant named Johnny Butler (names did not match the accent), with heavy middle eastern accent claiming he was a lawyer collecting a charged off debt.  He had good information about me.  I do not have a charged off debt.  He was rude and threatened me with a lawsuit for bank fraud.   Asked that I fax him a signed document allowing him to collect money from a prepaid credit card.  Would not give me any more information.  I did not send him anything as the nature of the call was very suspecious.  Be careful and do not send this person any documents or infortion.

Interesting.. I got a call this afternoon same number diff area code and I do not know of any numbers starting with 500 anywhere. I did not answer and they left no message.

I got two calls today from David Parker at 760-282-4306.  Very heavy Indian Accent.  David Parker my axx,  Rude, threaterning, and says they're going to arrest me on my job if I don't pay the fraudulent charges, but won't tell me what the charges are.  I've had them call me before.  Scary thing is, they have both work and cell numbers.  Don't EVER put that stuff out online in an application.  I did apply for a payday loan online last year, and will never, ever do that again.

Also calls from this number.....773-455-5178......in regards to a debt, to which they will release no information about....threatens subpoena, and imprisonment....very rude and insulting when questioned for information.

Have been getting calls from a John Watson and a supposed Officer Jack Green from Federal crime dept says iv being charged with like 3 counts of federal check fraud but when i try and get info on what office or precent or if he has a badge number he changes the subject saying i owe them about $2000. Has lots of info on me says if i dont pay going to enter a law suit for me in my county and going to have to go to court have me arrested. Also when i dont pick up the calls says if you dont return this call wishes me good luck becuase im going to need it has been calling for over 2 months now as per my attorny says if they were real they would have done something by now not just keep calling. It seems to all be a scam they have all heavy indian anccients saying they have american names.

got a call from these moroons and they said a team of lawyers and a sheriff deputy to come arrest me at work if i did not pay 422.00 on a 3500.00 loan that we never took out, we called these people back stating we were from the federal goverment and was investigating a crank call from this number the same person i just talked to moments earlier hung up on me and called me back on my cell phone with the same crock. i proceeded to put the phone near my anal area and cracked a great sounding fart on them asked them if they could smell what i was eating and then hung up. how do we stop them from calling. Tell them what they really are is a sham and call there bluff they soon do stop calling.

they have called me twice now and his name was neil watson, i refused to give them any personal information and he said fine then have your attorney contact me.

I also keep receiving these calls and know it is a scam because they stated I took out a pay day loan on a bank account I didn't even have at the the time I was supposed to have taken out this payday loan.  I do not like their behavior nor attitudes and they call at work over and over again and must have a couple of different names for their businesses.  They have strong accents, such as, would be heard from Africa.  The latest call was from an Andrew Brown, 760-284-1418. They told me at work that they were coming for me and handcuffing me in front of my fellow workers and clients.  I think more should be done than simply posting this and I am unsure of who to call on this.  Any numbers to call to make this stop, please post.

These people keep calling saying the are from a law firm they are very thretening with Indian accent but with american names now they are calling and it comes up 911, I told them they were full of it and that I was going to report them and they hung up on me so I called them back and now the keep hanging up on me this is a scam but becareful because they have my bank info and I think I have to close my account

I keep getting a call from this number.  I called them back and they said they were 3 lawsuits against me.  I have no idea what they were talking about.  I got my home address and they said they also had my SS#. How do I stop these people for calling me?

They are calling me at my job.  I am reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission and my attorney.
I want these people stopped.

I also received a call from a Mr. Brown who has said that he is with the protection agency (give me a break!) He cannot get his story straight. This is clearly a scam.

Have received several phone calls from "Andrew Brown"in last couple of days.  States he is from Attorney based collections.  Same scam regarding payday loan and if I don't pay, the law will come find me and this is time sensitive matter.  Have blocked number but they seem to find other numbers to call from.  Have reported this to my local law enforcement agency and the Federal Trade Commission.

I got a call today from this # saying he was Neil Watson a paralegal for Morgan & Assoc. and that I am being sued for a loan that I supposedly recieved, and when they tried to pull the funds from my bank account the funds were not available. This man than transferred me a so called lawyer and just read to me all the charges I'm being charged with. So funny how those charges sounded so familiar because those were the same charges they read to my husband (which was me just pretended to be my husband) they had no clue that i was who i wasn't. Anyways they told me I had to pay $422 for a loan that I recieved in Jan. 2010. That is so funny because the bank name they mentioned I didn't open till February 2010.

Oh yeah and if I didn't pay the loan I was going to end up having to pay $3000. Needless to say I am way to smart to fall for this B.S so I told them this is all fraud. His reply was "if this is fraud, don't call us back" I was like you called me you jacka$$

I just received a voicemail from this number.  The person called himself "Andrew Brown" and he said he was from an internet-based collection agency, but didn't say which one.  I've received a plethora of calls from other numbers saying I owe money for a payday loan that I never requested.  This has been going on for two months.  I block the numbers, but these people just find other numbers to call from.  

To say this is frustrating is an understatement!

This is a scam! Do not give these people any information and make sure to report them to the authorities. I also have been getting harrassing phone calls from them. I heard that they get all your info from online payday loan companies. Please do not send them any money!

"Thomas Cook "called (in a heavy middle eastern or asian accent)and siad we would be advised NOT to ignore his   extremely  time sensitive call and  do not try to disregard this call. If we do not return the call or he does not receive a call from our attorney, GOOD LUCK as the situation unfolds on us  Used the first name of our son whom is in the military

Very rude with an Indian accent, however, American names.  Told me not to ignore his message and that if I did not call him back or my attorney of record, then all he could do was wish me luck.  I had the same thing happen with another number and I was told that it was a scam and not a debt collector.  If you can find the carrier, you can get the number disconnected.  The other number was 805-500-4567.

I have been receiving calls from this number on a daily basis at work and at home.  The guy that cals is very aggressive and rude and personally to me kind of threatning.  He will continue to call 5 & 6 times in a row...they are aggressive, rude and always say that I owe them money and they will get it.  He also advises it is not wise for me to ignore his calls, always wishesme Good Luck and then ends with "God Bless " you.  How do we get these callers to stop?  There must be away!!

Got a call saying that I am being sued for a pay-day loan. Very rude and agressive. I did not take out a payday loan. The callers are men with a heavy accent but American like-names like, "Johnny Butler". Said was calling from a law firm called Moore and Associates but number and organization does not match. Called BBB in California and they did not identify the number or organization with the state and city.
