This is a criminal extortion ring operating out of India. They are utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. ABC News released an investigative report on it in June. The FTC has indicted one of its ringleaders for criminal fraud:

In the meantime, you are going to have to do whatever you can to protect yourself. That includes letting them know you are aware they are running a scam and are reporting them to the authorities.

I got a phone call from this number saying they was an attorney an i was going to be arrested it was everything that everyone else has said an they are still calling an leaving the same messages an theres even a female calling now i wish something would be done to these people

Received a call from a Lutinent Andrew Adams screaming at me about an outstanding payday loan thatai don not have and that I will be arrested for check fraud.  Told me that my lawyer should contac them immediately or i will go to jail.

Just talked to a paralegal from this number who wanted me to call and talk to a Mr. Michael in regards to a case they were going to represent me in. I had no idea, the gentleman I spoke to had an accent (India, maybe) had no information on the case but I had to call Mr. Michael back to talk about the case. I hung up on him.

I received a ridiculous amount of phone calls today, from this number. They called two times at my place of employment, of course during the rush!!  Thanks d-bags. I had to call back a "Eric", yet I could not understand ANYTHING they were saying. I recall them saying something about a loan. I called the number back, and got a woman, can't remember her name, and she immediately sounded official, and said she was an attorney. She started to tell me how I was going to court for ... and was VERY unclear as to what, other than I didn't pay on a loan, and how dare I not pay back on my loan, and then I was going to jail suddently at 4p.m. WHAT???!?!? I, being a single mother, immediately start panicing, because what??? I have to pick my son up. I don't understand what the goal is here, other that having ALL My information, which is frightening, and I guess you can ruin my credit even more than it already is. I guess it's not safe to buy anything online. LESSON LEARNED!!! Boo you b*****ds that called!! BOO!!!

Im receiving calls from this # one call was they was calling about fraud I ask who this was they hung up. The 2 call the same thing. I called this # back and when the guy answered he said attorney thats it just attorney I told them stop calling my phone I am not giving you nothing do not call my # again.

i got a call from these people today they left me a message on my voice mail saying me or my attorney most call them he said his name was eric wison

just received 2 phone calls from this number claiming to be an attorneys office  first call to my supervisor at work stating that i would be sorry if i didnt call back  so i called back and was told i took out a payday loan and did not pay it back and would be arrested at work the following day and sent back to california where i would spend 70 days in jail.  looked the number up online and saw the posts of the same calls people have received.. called them back and confronted them with what i found and she hung up on me.  something needs to be done.  i could have lost my job over this and also stated i could send them 1,000 tonight and they would throw everything out.  i am getting a lawyer and suing them for harrassement.

Just got a call from them today about an old payday loan, I supposedly had never paid off.  I told them I received calls like this in the past and wanted to know when they were going to ask me for money.  The Indian Woman, said I have not asked you for anything...I am trying to help you.  I told her Great call someone else with your scam!  She hung up on me!

Ok they just got me yesturday.  Which I was a little worried only because for the first time my husband and I tried to get a payday advance.  Now they have to be getting our information for some sort of internet thing. We have never taken out an advance ever.  I sent this story to channel 3 maybe they can get a story out there to advise other people to not to fall for it.  It wouldnt be so bad if they werent threatning to be arrested.  They went as far as to tell me that they were going to arrest my husband and take him to los angeles ca. for prosecution.  And after he was prosecuted if he still did not have any money he was going to have to pay something like 8,000.00 dollars and serve 3 months in jail.  (REALLY) As if they know already what the judge is going to sentence someone too.  And being shipped to LA.  Come on people.  These people need to go down before they really get somebody.

Its a scam there trying to get personal info from Americans.  The company is not even in this country. Tell them they have the wrong number.

I am the manager of a business.  We have been receiving phone calls from them for a year and a half.  They ask for Ryan Jackson, who has never worked for us.  They become rude when we say we do not know who Ryan Jackson is.  Finally we were able to view their phone number (760) 440-5421, and called them back.

A woman answered and we told her to stop calling us, and if we continue to receive their phone calls we would call the police.

This idiot called me at work and asked me for my lawyers name. I said what do i need a lawyer for? he said someone was bring a case against me and for me to call this number 760-440-5421 and talk to Michael Carter? I hung up and dismissed the call only to have this person call me back an hour later and ask me why i hadn't called that number yet! When I started questioning him he hung up.   Can you say SCAM!!!!!!!!

He had a threatening tone to his voice, he sounded like he was from the middle-east. He also called my place of employment threatening to have a warrant took out on me.

I am wondering if I can have a warrant taken out on him for terroristic threatening?

Aug. 9, 2012 I received a call from the same number, he to was foreign (with a American name). He had a threatening tome in his voice and also called my place of employment. I have not talk to him or received anymore calls as of yet, I do know that it is some kind of scam which I will not fall for. For one thing bill collectors have never took out warrants or called the Sheriff's Dept. Maybe Mr. David Johnson needs to brush up  on America laws and how businesses handle people who do not make payments.

I received a call on my job today. The person had a heavy Indian accent. He said he was an investigator and he had a warrant for my arrest for outstanding loan. He also stated that I am to call immediately a Michael Clark at this number. I did not call immediately. Approximately an hour later, the male who stated he is an investigator called me and asked me did I contact Michael Clark. I stated know, but would call him as soon as we got off the phone. I called and got a female (also with a heavy Indian accent), she was very rude, She went on to say I would be arrested on tommorrow, your attorney will bail you out. I started questioning her, she hung up. I called back and a another male answered and said he was Michale Clarke, an attorney. Paper had been sent for my arrest and they were going to serve me on tommorrow by 4:00pm. I asked him who was suing me and what amount was they talking about. Michael Clark stated the principal was $691.00, with attorney fees, the amount was $5000.00. I hung up. consulted with another individual on my job which stated the same person tried to scam money from her mother. I called the number back, no one would answer. I called at least four times, no response.

I just got a call from "Andrew White" and I called back an hour later.  They spouted out my SS# and bank account numbers, even though I have never had a payday loan or anything... Oh, and they claimed to be from "Sherrod and Brown" ummm that's my governor's name... They're so stupid!!! I filed a police report and changed all of my accounts. Pieces of S**t!!!

I received two voicemails from a Andrew White and Ben Williams, both of which were foreign, claiming they were from the Department of Legal Affairs and Investigation. He stated that I owed money for a cash advance that I never got.  They called me at work and on my house phone.  Saying that I was going to be taken to jail on 3 charges because of this.  Everytime I asked for information he cut me off and wouldnt allow me to ask questions.  Then he told me to get my attorney and be ready because I was going to be sorry. Then he hung up on me.   This is so irritating.
