Actually I went further and these people have received information either from a credit card company or loan company where a bill has not been paid or defaulted on.  these people knew the last four digits of my SS number and banking information.  They scam you by threatening to take you to court on the next business day and the amount they say you owe will increase by as much as six times the original amount.  They will then give you a number to fax your information to and they want you to notarize the document and add a statement that you authorized the transaction through your visa/mc so the bank cannot reverse the charges.  I have a feeling as to what company gave away my information and I will be pursuing legal action against them.

I have been receiving calls from this number for 3 days now and today 6/26/10 I answered it and it was a woman that answered the call and said it was an attorneys office and I needed to be transferred to her supervisor thay all had horrible accents and also threatened me that I am being sued for not paying a loan that I never applied for or received they had the last 4 to my social and said the following business day I will be arrested @ 11:00 AM and the local sheriffs will be there to arrest me..my dad is a cop and he said it's a scam..i asked to speak the supervisor and he said he was the supervisor then I asked t speak to his boss he said he was the boss I said I'm my own boss too and I have the right to know some further infornation and he hung up on me when I called back the lady that answered said she has no record of my name there all of a sudden..TOTAL SCAM I'm FILlLING A POLICE REPORT ON MONDAY FOR FRAUD WITH THIS #just in case they have other information on me I don't know about

PS  They also theratened to contact my employer.  This is pretty serious stuff.  Does anyone know who we can report these people to??  I'm sure they're out of country, but is is a US number

Same deal.  Happened 6/26/10.  Guy called heavy eastern accent and wanted the name of my attorney.  He had the last 4 of my social.  When I told him that I had no idea what he was talking about, he said "oh dear" and put a woman on the phone that claimed to be an attorney.  I couldn't understand much of what she was saying but she said I had committed banking fraud and a couple of other things.  I had applied on line for a payday type loan and really regret that.  I wasn't approved but now get over 200 junk emails a day.  She said that I knew exactly what she was talking about and said that her client had credited my checking account $1500.00 and I had lied on the application.  When I blew her off she said no problem, and I could clear up the problem by paying her $10,000 and they would drop the charges.  I said good luck in collecting that and she said she would come visit me when I was behind bars.  It was very unsettling.

I received a call on Friday, June 25 in the evening.  First person on line asked for the name of my attorney.  When I asked why he needed that information I was directed to his "supervisor".  This person identified herself as Casandra Ross.  Told me that I was being sued by a payday loan company due to non-payment of the loan.  She did have my social security number but could not provide me with a loan account number, the amount that I supposedly borrowed or any other information that might be pertinent to the matter.  She indicated that I was being sued on three counts and that I could settle the matter right then on the telephone with my banking information or debit/credit card information.  She told me I owed $798.42.  Very heavy middle eastern accent and speaking so quickly I only got about every other word.  Told me to pack my bags as the police would be coming to my home and she would see my next when I am behind bars.  I am a senior citizen.  This kind of thing is disturbing, at best, and threatening.  How do we stop this sort of thing?

People. This is a run of the mill scam in order to take advantage of people. It has nothing to do with you owing anybody any money. Nobody is going to sue you, nor will anything else happen. Relax...

I'm so tired of getting so many of these types of calls- I wish I knew where and how my information has been distributed all over the place? I've had fraud on all of my credit cards-- and in a variety of ways- that I've never heard of.-- Someone making payments then charging things right away- then the payment they make takes a while to get reversed- so I have charges- then an anonymous, bogus payment made- then reversed-then I get all these reversal fees- and calls from the creditors, etc,,, Then the most recent is fraud on my bank account- in which I'm barely able to keep very little in as it is. There are companies whom I've never given my information obtaining authorization to make what appears to be a check with my bank account routing and checking account number on it and saying that I was sent an e-mail that I had to respond to in a 7 day period or I would be signed up for their services ? . But each event happens in the night before I even know what has hit. I'm financially devastated- and now I'm getting these calls too. It's a female sounding like she is from India- telling me that I better call within seconds of receiving the message- and yes also on my work phone that is a new phone number- and saying if I don't call back that she wishes me good luck in my life and that this will get worse and I will not be able to get away from it as their lawyers seek further action?- I am a Federal Employee and work in a County building- I work in Public Health- with very sick people and I only try to help those who are less fortunate, homeless, addicts, and those with HIV to try to feel like life is worth living and I make every attempt to get them into some sort of care... So all of the above events- have and continue to place unnecessary stress and ongoing chaos on me and I'm a single parent as well- I don't feel sorry for myself or like I'm a victim- but come on- I am so disgusted that there are people so sick out there that they are made to terrorize or enjoy terrorizing people, who are merely trying to take care of a multitude of daily, normal tasks and challenging life events- and feel the need to add this type of hideous, manipulative, dishonest load of trash. It is getting worse and worse- and the outsourcing that major corporations are relying on to represent their company name and have them requesting personal information from me all the while they are located in India, or wherever, is frightening. If it's for cheaper labor, or god knows why?- I feel it is costing a ridiculous amount of time and money because when I do put aside  some time call from my cell phone (costing me money) to hopefully have an issue resolved relating to an unauthorized charge, or for technical support, etc.. it is so hard to understand the individual, and if I can't understand them- how is it suppose to be OK for me to be required to provide all of my personal information- that god knows what is happening as you are speaking to the person who is on a different continent on a different day? So I'm sorry to use this venue for all of this- it started by my desire to complain about getting such horrifying phone calls from (Kathy Brown) (who can hardly speak English) and god knows who she really is and god knows where this person is calling from? Maybe a cave in the Middle East- or a trailor in the desert? Yet has a San Diego area code that anyone can request as an area code for some sick information gathering adventure they are on... I'm so tired of so much crooked, energy sucking, negative, violating abuse from every angle that I'm really wondering if there will ever be any trusted protection against this type of stuff? It is getting worse and worse, and weirder and weirder, as those making these various attacks on a persons ability to have a day of peace- as they show that there is sicker and more twisted minds sitting around trying to figure out how to take zero dollars from zero dollars- that I have now as a result of all this madness.. The individuals that are this ill minded- live with themselves and are causing otherwise honest people to want to go nuts just as they are.. WOW!!!!

Yes I got a call from them on a Saturday and they keep threatening me saying that I have been sued and will be taken to court if I dont give them my social security number.  The last time they called they said some horrible things about me and I had my fiance answer the phone and they never called back.

i keep getting phn calls from this # 760.923.3717...they are leaving threatening voice mails on my phn.when i called them back and asked what was the reasoning for the back to back calls...they hung up on me...i called back and asked again and informed them that i will be doing a report on them and reporting them to better business.they then started talking extremely fast in some lingo that i could not understand...needless to say i didn't get anywhere,but if i get another call from them i will be making a police report.

Been getting calls at work and on my cell phone. A man ("John Anderson") that doesn't even speak good English says I am being sued by a payday loan company and we have a scheduled court date. When I tell them that I will not speak with and that they need to call my attorney they tell me to have my lawyer call them that they "are not my servant".  I just hang up on them.

This number called my phone 7 times in a row, then i called back they said i was beening sued, by a loan company, that deposited 500.00 in my account. I asked who they were they claim they tracked me committing fraud through my email. I told them i did'nt have a loan, they told me i had t be in court on monday morning, this was a wednesday night @ 6pm No court documents had been served. I just hung up because they did not even speak english. "The Anderson law firm"

Yea they have been calling me too saying that someone is suing me and they need me to verify my social in order for them to give me the information about who is suing me....it was kinda scary but when my fiance answered the phone I didnt get any more threats from them anymore.

yea this number showed up on my phone saying I was in some really bad trouble but they had the wrong social security number
