We called UHC and they are doing an investigation about this Phishing SCAM and said it is not them. Do not give out private information.

This number is fraud. I called United Healthcare and they said that they and no one affiliated with them has tried to contact me.  United Healthcare suggested that the next time they try to call for me to tell that that I will be reporting them to the police if they try to contact me again. This number and three others like it have tried to contact me four times over the last three days.

I use this Wellness benefit from UHC.  Yes this is their number.  There is a big difference in the call I received today and the other calls I get from Theresa, who is my Wellness nurse.  The calls I normally get always leave a message with a call back number.  The call I received today just hung up when my message machine picked up.  In all the years I have been using the Wellness service they have never done that plus the name that showed was not for UHC it said OPTUM.  Be careful of who you give any information to.

I keep getting calls from this number. The many posts I've read claim that it's legit, it's not legit.  Well bottom line, as far as I'm concerned, I don't want to discuss my medical situation with anyone expect my doctor.   I don't need a third party nurse (so she says she is)which  I have no way of verifying that, asking how I'm doing and if I need anything.  These calls are intrusive and unwanted.  I call this harrassment.

My company uses the UHC Wellness Coaching for our employees.  This is a valid call.  They need to confirm your date of birth so they can discuss personal health issues.  This is a HIPAA requirement so they can be sure not to discuss your personal issues with a stranger.  Please contact your benefits department or administrator for more information.

I have gotten this call several times now and even after they have sent something in the mail indicating they have not been able to contact me via phone.  What I don't get is why they can't figure out that I don't have the desire nor need to speak to anyone from UHC regardless  if it is legit or not.  I would consider this harrassment.  Please take the hint people.  

It's United Healthcare. They left a message with my name and my employer, and a call back number of 866-783-7489.

This is Untited Healthcare, or rather a nurse contracted through UHC to call those who have their insurance and have recently been I'll or been diagnosed with a chronic illness, such as diabetes. It's actually a good program if you need help gathering information, want advice, ect. Personally, the calls annoy me, they keep you on the phone forever, my first call was over an hour! She wanted so much info, like every medication I take, why I was on certain things, then proceeded to explain to me what diabetes is and why it's so important to control it, like the hospital & doctors hadn't told me anything. About a week later I received a packet full of info, recipes, ect in the mail, that part was cool, but they want to do follow up calls monthly, I have no interest in that personally.

This number is legit. I've had an RN with UHC calling from this number for several weeks now following up on my medical condition.

Received a call from this number at 2:43 a.m. EST on my cell phone.  No message was left.  Called the number and a message answers saying it is a United Healthcare outbound only line.  Assume it must be a robo call since there would be no sensible reason UHC would call in the middle of the night, especially since I have no association with UHC.

Got a call from 763-274-3899.  They are UHC nurse line and following up on my wife's surgery.  Seems to be legit.

I find these calls intrusive, not helpful.  I don't want any more calls.  I'm an agent for UHC and I probably know more than the caller.  How do I get on do not call for Optum?

This is a legit call from United Healthcare.  I signed up for info and was told they would call.  Didn't pick up because I didn't recognize the number.  They left a number and a message.

Why can't they just send a flyer in the mail like everyone else?

I have received about 20 calls from this number in 2 weeks. If they care so much about people with health issues why this level of harassment. I spoke with UHC about the calls and was told it wasn't  their company. I am not giving out my information and if I need medical information there are safer avenues. I believe it's a clever scam. Help a little steal a lot.

I got a call from this number.  It said it was OptimumRx from United Health Care. I called them number back and it says it is an outbound number only for UHC.  I had a vm about an issue from UHC.  It is a legit number.

I got a call from this number.  The man had a heavy accent and I could barely understand him.  We are not affiliated with United Healthcare in any way, shape, or form.  It's a scam to me.

I am scheduled to have surgery - this is a call from their nurse line asking if I had any questions about the procedure or my pre-op instructions. NOT A BILL COLLECTOR... its okay.

Then ull be waiting quite some time to get medications which could be for example Botox which I get from United Healthcare from their approval dept that is usually for the ones that go straight to ur dr office for them to treat u with. Doesn't mean it's Botox, as I said an example. I've even been part of an identity theft business for years so I know all about the types of scams out there. Asking why they don't leave a msg is a silly question when they haven't verified its you which has to be done according to HIPPA Law. So it would be ok to leave personal into on a phone number that possibly isn't yours, but it's not ok to ask u a day of birth when they obviously already have the informations. They usually have to ask 2 items to verify it is the member so that's just the law. This number is also part of a wellness program which offers benefits through United Healthcare, as well as the prescription info I mentioned above. Sometimes depending on how your profile is set up & if you have given them permission already to leave a message at that particular number they will leave a message. I actually like them to call my cell phone number. Not every state offers names with the caller ID feature as another member was concerned about, so that's the reason for that. I think u should refrain from the ridiculous "Bite me..." Type comments as u posted in a forum & people r trying to help u with the issue at hand. I have lots of medical issues & have been called through this & other numbers from United Healtcare for many different types of issues. I completely understand not wanting to give out person info, BUT UNLESS IT'S YOUR SOCIAL SEC NUMBER, CREDIT CARD NUMBER OR BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER DO NOT BE SO SURE. YOU CAN ALSO ASK THEM IF U CAN VERIFY SOMETHING ELSE THAT U R MORE COMFORTABLE WITH WHICH WILL SHOW THEY ALREADY HAVE MORE INFO ABOUT YOU. WORSE CASE SCENARIO YOU CAN ALWAYS ASK WHO THEY ARE & WHAT NUMBER YOU CAN CALL THEM BACK AT & THEN CALL YOUR HEALTHCARE COMPANY & ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE THIS DEPARTMENT AS PART OF YOUR BENEFITS. IT IS 100% USED FOR PRESCRIPTIONS THAT R SENT TO A DR OFFICE, ALSO USED FOR WELLNESS BENEFITS OFFERED BY THE EMPLOYER OR SPOUSE's EMPLOYER, AS WELL AS FOR FOLLOWUPS & OTHER BENEFITS YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE MAY OFFER.

I received a call from this number and they did leave a message.  It was from UHC (United Health Care).  They were calling to follow up with me on a fax that I had sent to their office.

WHY DOESN'T CALLER ID NOTE IT?  MINE SAID NAME UNAVAILABLE.  THAT'S BS.  I RECEIVED A CALL FROM UHC TODAY AND THE NO. WAS 877-861-3859.

This is not a scam.  It is legitimate.  I had called United Health Care to enroll in the disease management plan to save money on medical expenses.  I was told by someone in Customer Service I would be transferred to the nurse line and would need to leave my name and phone number and that a Registered Nurse would call me back and that's exactly what happened.  When I found out she was in Georgia, I did ask why my caller ID said Twincities, MN and she said their calls come up that way because it is their headquarters or home office (I forgot which she said!).  

I get a lot of unwanted calls too, but I will repeat that this one is NOT a scam.  It is the wellness program through United Health Care and a benefit to save you money!

I just go a call from this number but the caller hung-up before I could answer. I had surgery on 11-7-12 and after reading these posts, I figured maybe the call was on the level except for the fact that it's xmas eve. I would ask the caller for specifics before volunteering any info such as my policy/group information, and recent claims which they should have. Then also should have a legit callback number if you're suspicious.
