Got a robo call for a prepaid emergency medical alert system, I hung up, then dialed back and spoke to a live person. He was difficult to understand. I asked who ordered the system....he said everyone in MN is getting one free, with the only cost a usage fee of $1/day.  I asked to be put on their do not call list.

This is really misleading call. My mother-in-law made me listen to the message because she was so confused by it.  Sounds like an auto-dialed call (as he starts talking before the machine picks up) but then there are sounds like the person on the other end is shuffling through papers and he says "Let's see here. It looks like this is all already paid for..."  For elderly people who do have multiple medical devices they need to keep track of in their homes this could be very misleading

Keep calling........for days.....do not answer........wish someone could come up with a real system to get rid of scammers........at least reduce their numbers and maybe they will have to get a legitimate job.

This number called me and I called it back to see who it was cuz i had missed the call. All i heard was music then it sounded like someone answered but all i could hear was other people saying yes this number called me and that just kept repeating and repeating and then beeping noises happened and it also sounded like someone was trying to dial a number it was weird.

THIS IS A SCAM - pressing 5 to say do not continue -- nothing works. They just want to get you to pay for a medical alert monitor. which has not been requested or needed or already paid for by someone else.  Would not give you the name of who recommended or paid for their product to be sent to you. .

This is a tough spammer to stop. Weather you listen to their message or not, they keep calling back. They never take you off their calling list no matter what you say.

How do these solicitors get by with their calls when my mom is on the "Do Not Call" list? Her caller began his pitch by saying that 'she must have a great friend or some wonderful children who really care about her well-being because THEY wanted to send her this medical alert system......'  She was angry with the caller and said her children would never do such a thing without first discussing it with her. She demanded that she be removed from their calling list and said she never wanted to be contacted again.

Have received this "Medical Alert" call twice already
saying that the package is shipped for free and it's been paid for by a friend. I have pressed" 5" both times I've had the call and asked not to be called again. The caller or recording says press "1" to continue delivery or "5" to stop calls. Obviously this doesn't work.

Ditto.  My elderly mother (82 y.o.) just got the same robo-call with pretty much the same pitch.  She then called me with some anxiety, wondering if I'd bought that "medical alert" thing for her.  Likely there are many vulnerable adults out there getting the same type of phone call, thinking their own son/daughter or grandchild got the device for them.
Btw, there's a really decent phone number blocking gadget on Amazon for around $50 that blocks up to 1,500 numbers.  I have one.  It works quite well.  (sorry about the sales pitch, but the thing really works).  I'm getting one for my mom.

Got the same call from "emergency medical alert" claiming he had a "help I've fallen and can't get up" pkg for me.  Said it was all paid for by someone (didn't say who) and just needed a shipping confirmation.  I am old but not stupid.  This is the same thing as the toner scams.  Why don't people just put the effort into a honest job?

Do not appreciate this call - the male said he was from emergency medical alert and I told him to take my name off of his list and hung up.

Received a call while we were eating dinner. The voice wanted to know when we wanted delivery of alert system; he said it was paid for and all I had to do was to tell them when I wanted it delivered. It is a not-so-clever scam.

4/12/13 @ Noon - Robo dialer, robo message began before answering machine picked up.  Robo message for seniors to activate security system that is endorsed by Amer Heart and Amer Diabetes Association.  No charge as Senior Medical Advisory is providing the service.  Press 1 to talk to live person or press 5 to be removed from their calling list.  I ignored their request and recommend that others do the same thing.  Scammers for sure and robo calling is illegal and they hide their true identity behind Unknown Number.
