Rec'd a call at my work from 763-432-2400. Caller ID indicated a company called Global Asset MG. Caller asked me if I knew how to reach my cousin's son. Caller said he'd been in school with my cousin's son and wanted to re-connect with him. Very weird call; I did not give him any information.

Contact the courthouse in the county that the judgment was filed in, and they can give you the contact number for the attorney who filed the judgment.  You can then work out a settlement or payment to pay and satisfy the judgment.  Then take the proof that it is paid to the courthouse to make sure it gets filed properly.

I am being continually harassed by this company over a bank account that was use fraudulently. When I tried to explain the situation the person got ruder and ruder and would not even allow me to give them the information about the fraud claim that was made both to the San Fransisco Police and US Bank.

Justin from bridgestone was a jerk hands down.  I just had my court hearing on the 25th and things went well.  US Banks screwed up my accout and than sold It off to Bridgestone.  I tried to tell Justin that it was a mistake and even offered to pay about 1/3 of what they claimed I owed.  They demanded half plus court cost so i said see you in court.  I talk with one of their lawyers and he at least listened to me and again tried to either have me pay half up right than or set up a payment play for 985 plus court fees.  I was already at the courthouse so I said thanks but no thanks I'll take my chances with the judge.  When my time came I spoke well, i was dressed well and I presented myself the best that I could.  The Judgement was not made that day so I sweat it out over the weekend and checking the mail Monday I found a letter from Hennepin County.  In it I found judgement that I found pretty favorable.  The courts decided that I owed just $37.50.  They lost a bunch of money on me.  They didn't even get the court fees back.  I think that I am going to head over there with a payment in full... a bag full of pennies and ask that they count it our and give me a note saying that I paid in full.

We get a call - didn't get his name from the 763-432-6013 number.  The call is in reference to my huband's ex of 20 years ago!  He asked if I knew her and where she was.  I told him no - I really don't know her and I do not have a clue where she is.  He asked if I was withholding information.  I said this is my phone at my house - she does not live here!  He got very upset and told me I was being rude!  I don't care ... I don't want to deal with any business regarding her!!!  If you can find me - you can find her!!!  I requested he not call here again - and he told me I would be hearing from him!  I laughed - is that a threat?  I will keep everything in mind this board has indicated.   He wouldn't tell why he wanted her - I asked twice!

A debt collection agency by the name of Bridgestone and Associates has consistently been calling me at work even though I threatened with the FDCPA. The man, named Joe, was completely rude and conisistently harassed me. I've talked to friends who have been debt collectors and they have all agreed that what this guy in the name of this company has been doing is completely against the law. He called me at work 5 times times, and every time I told him to get a hold of me a different way.

i dont know what everyone is talking about.  I love reading these because, why does everyone hide hide behind an computer screen.  They gave me 30% off my account.  Guess what, I go to bed at night knowing I pay my bills, and handle my business.  I dont get why people are so afraid.  Serious people, dont be a loser, and if you truly cant pay, FILE BANKRUPTCY.  You have second chances in this country.  All your creditros will give you up to 50 percent off your debts, if you call and just talk with them.  For evey one person who is unhappy for getting calls, im sure they have over 100 people that do the right thing,  Stop running and hiding, crack addicts find ways to support their 4000 per month drug habit.  DOnt steal, but get a second job, decrease your cable services, decrease your cell bill minutes.  Buckle down.  Dont be a loser.  Their are too many true losers, but their are good people that get into trouble.  Its not the end of the world.  There are a ton of ways to get help.  Just look in the mirror and ask yourself "Am I that big of a Loser"

Everyone, I called and it did not say that the call was being recorded.  In the state of MN you are allowed to inform them that the call is being recorded.  If they (bridgestone) refuse then that is that, but make sure that is recorded too.

Debt Collector
Two days ago I had gotten a phone call from these jokers. I had called them and asked to speak to this joe guy. What an a-hole! When he answered the phone he said "yeah!?". I told him my name and that I was calling him back. He told me that I had a breach of contract with US Bank. I told him that I was not aware that i was. He then told me (this is after my first and only contact with him) that I could either voluntarily pay the debt or go to court. I again asked him what the call was about exactly. He told me that if I didn't understand that I should get a lawyer. Why would I get a lawyer for something I am not being informed about that would require a lawyer? I asked him why he was being an a-hole and wouldn't answer my question. He said that I was going to be served and that I was a liar. He then felt it necessary to tell me that he was glad that he recorded all his phone calls (which I found is illegal with out being informed of prior to) because of "people like me". He then said again get a lawyer I'll see you in court and hung up on me. Now I've never dealt with a debt collector who calls you one time, doesn't explain the debt and then when you don't immediately hand over the money tells you he'll see you in court. he was VERY rude and harassing! I am reporting him to Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. And I thought that all of you would like to know that they are NOT licensed debt collectors!

Debt Collector
I just got a call today from Mr. Behringer, not a nice man at all (his mother must of forgotten to teach him about listening) But the start of the phone call was pleasant, stated why he was calling and that they wanted the amount due paid in full NOW! I explained that when I first knew about the problem with U.S. Bank playing Ponzie with my money, that I paid then what I felt was morally due to them. the amount I over drew and one over draft fee, and the debt that he now owns was created by U.S. Banks greed. Well he didn't give two hoots about that, he now owned it and I had to pay him or he was going to sue me, and "they always win" started getting really aggressive trying to get me to get angry. When I asked him if I could make a payment arrangement, he started talking over me and saying that he didn't want to hear my stories and that if I was a responsible person I would have never gotten into this station in the first place. Which I replied, "If U.S. Bank know how to read and use their own excuses and deduct monies owed in the ORDER of which they where made instead of largest to smallest 8 days from when the first transaction was made you would be yelling at someone else" he then asked me what my lawyers name was because he was tired of talking to me and was going to sue me (almost yelling at this point) I couldn't help it but laugh at him (which just made things worst LOL) but after about five more minutes of him trying to threaten me and scare me with someone coming down to my office and serving me with papers, I asked him one more time. to please calm down, and to speak to me like a normal person (the whole time I never raised my voice once) and work with me here. He hung up the phone. YEAH!!! so I call him right back, and scolded him for a second, saying that it was very rude to hang up on anyone, especially someone that you trying to recover something from me. and if he wasn't willing to talk to me and work something out, that I had NO problem moving back home to Louisiana. which I reminded him was a CLOSED state to debt accrued in other states, and he would have to eat that $600 that he just bought. So what is it going to be, payment plans or you having a blemish on your recovery record? We worked something out LOL.

Good luck to you.  They have all the paper work to back stuff up, before they sue you they put it on your credit and let it build more interest.  I would go into US BANK asap and get proof otherwise you will end up with a lawsuit like I did.  US BANK probly screwed you too.  I hope you are right because I was there in court with 14 others that got screwed like me.  It seems like the banks always win.  If I were you I would call them asap and get copies of what they have otherwise you will fight a losing battle.  Maybe even pay a settlement with them.  I still am trying to come up with money, because once you lose in court you have 20 days to pay and that will drop the suit.  Talk with Tom, he was very helpful in court.  Hope this helps

I am being garnished by those a$$holes!!!  I lost in court.  I thought this was paid off.  The bring the statements to court and some affidavit to court.  US BANK screws you and sells accounts to them.  $25.00 turns into $400.00.  NEVER BANK THERE!!!!  They also report it on your credit.

I like this stuff. I hope it is true. I was called last week by them, the man identified himself as "Mr Behringer from Bridgestone and Associates." He confirmed all my information, some of it was incorrect. He did have my account number though. So, as far as that goes, I did listen to him. He said they had purchased my account, I still use this account. He gave me some dates that made sense, I was overdrawn on the date he stated, but I had since re-opened the account. I have used the account since the date he said it was purchased by them. Long story short, they did threaten litigation, garnishment, and larger debt (almost double) if I didn't take care of this before it went to court. They did give me a week to contact my debtor and straighten this out. I brought my account current, seems someone else has my account info too. I cleared up two unauthorized charges and my account showed a positive balance. When I called back for Mr B, I was talking with a person from the legal department, not a lawyer, not an attorney, just a lackey. He didn't want to listen to me about my account being current, he said if I was using it, I would be charged with fraud, because I didn't own the account. Guess what? I own the account, I have made charged on it and have a positive balance in the account. We'll see where it goes. They were patient it seems, but didn't even start to listen to me about this situation, they just wanted the legal status of the debt to be settled. After the week, I did let them know that I contacted the original debtor, and my account was positive. They still claimed I owed them the money. I let them know I would not pay the debt twice. We'll see how well I fair with this.

Yes it goes on your credit report and its public record.  They can even garnish your wages.  You will also have to pay the court fees and the garnishment fees.  Judgments are good for 10 years and after 10 years they can file to re affirm it.  My advice would to file bankruptcy(if you have enough debt) or pay what you owe.  I owe them money too.  I have been out of work for 2 years and lost my house.  I have 40k in debt and ended up to file chapter 7 so they didnt sue me.    I guess they buy all their debts and since they own the debt they can file lawsuits.  I dont really know what you can do do avoid them, but if you only owe a couple hundred dollars and do have a huge debt load, I would suggest you pay them.

I was sued by them too.  I got a letter from the court house here.  What should I do?  The would not take payments.  Does anyone know who I should talk too there?  What happens if I do not go to court?  They told me I would have a judgment agaist me for 10 years.  I am scared to go to court.  I dont have the full amount to pay.  Will this ruin my credit?  I never thought they would bring me to court for $700.00.  I know I owe the money, but is there a way I can avoid going to court? Any advice is appreciated?  Thanks.

About 1 month ago my husband received a call from a guy named Joe,he said he was looking for our daughter,my husband was in the middle of a project, had his hands full at that moment, and asked him to call back and leave a message, also that she did not live here with us and we don't give out her number, but could pass his number on.the guy"joe"then used the word
"harboring"and "we'll have to take it to the next step"and hung up.Very rude.the next day he called back and Sarcasticly said"are we going to deal with this a little bit better today?"I asked what the call was about
and tried to explain that my daughter would call him,but then he said to me "do you always interupt when people are talking to you?"and hung up.
My daughter did call the phone # and spoke with a different guy I guess from a place called Bridgestone and Assoc.she told them not to call her parents anymore, and supposedly worked out a payment agreement with them from a 20 dollar mistake that happened 2 years ago she was then 18 and now they say she owes 600.00 dollars(that makes me so mad the banks can do that to young people)anyhow,    a month goes by and yesterday the phone rings and its that Joe Derezinski again totally rude saying my husband does'nt love his daughter (because my husband hung up on the Joe guy)and I said I thought my daughter worked out a plan etc..
He said in a totally RUDE voice "she FAILED MISERABLY,your daughter failed miserably again""YOU call her"then click he hung up.
I know this is a long note but when I read that this guy has spoken in this horribly rude and threatening way to others too,I just had to write.

You Have A Right to Sue Harassing Debt Collectors

Debt collectors must treat you with truth, fairness, dignity, and respect.  Period.  Any debt collector who crosses the line and abuses you for the collection of a consumer debt can be sued in federal court for damages under a law called the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
Debt Collectors Are Prohibited From Doing Lots of Things

   * Threatening lawsuits, garnishment, liens, or arrest for not paying a bill
   * Calling your family, friends, neighbors or employers to collect a debt
   * Leaving abusive phone messages
   * Insulting, yelling or swearing at you
   * Calling your workplace after telling the collector not to call you there
   * Lying, threatening, or otherwise harassing you in any way

If you have suffered from any of these abusive bill collection practices, you may be entitled to compensation.  We can help any consumer who is currently in collections, or has suffered from collection harassment.  Call us today at (612) 379-8800 to speak with an attorney and get a free phone consultation on your case.

I rec'd a call from Brad Peterson.  He's a bill collector, the guy needs to learn serious skills on how to deal with people.  Brad you get more bees with honey than vinegar.  This guy is a real jerk and is unethical who ever hires him beware! not a good choice. If you receive a call from him go directly to the person or business you owe money too believe me its a cake walk compared to dealing with him.
