Update:
I was able to get a machine to pick up at this number, the first time after many attempts. The recording states they are calling on behalf of the Indiana FOP, and there was an option to leave a message. So, I did leave one stating my number, requesting they remove me from their call list immediately or I would be reporting them to the attorney generals office.
I recommend those of you receiving the same calls do the same. I reached this machine at 6:27 pm EST.

For your safety/security, if you get such a call, FIRST ask who is calling. If they hang up, or if they won't tell you - you hang up.

This number has shown up on my caller ID for the last 2 weeks.  This Saturday morning I picked up and said "hello" she stated "Is this the _______  household i replied, "yes, may i help you?"  She replied, "No i will call back."  Now if this number is a call center, why would she respond by calling back?  Maybe she was SHOCKED that someone was on the other end of the line and did not have her script in front of her?  IDK

Call their home office at 1.800.793.6746 and report them for bad business practice. It's against Indiana law for ANY telemarketer to call before 9am. I am turning them into the Attorney General Office. Only the FOP Headquarters can make the telemarketers stop calling. They also need to know that this business practice is actaulyy hurting their donation program. I have family who works for IMPD and they will hear about this as well.

This number calls me several times a day. I am on a do not call list but I guess it doesn't matter. How rude and annoying!  The caller ID says Lebanon IN.

These calls from 1731 & 1739 (and other numbers) are from FOP.  Someone said they thought they may be exempt and can call even if you are on the "Do Not Call" list.  BLOCKEM!!!  Then call Office of Indiana
Attorney General in Indianapolis and ask for form # TP2004_2004.08.01 (may be revised by now, but they will know what form you need).  Remember to keep track of date and time of call and who calls.  This procedure may or may not do any good, but it's all we have to try and stop FOP, at least.

P.S.:  You'll have to get the Attorney General's number by dialing 411 or 1-800-411.  I don't have it anymore.

This number has been calling several times a week. i don't answer and they don't leave a message. Get rid of it please.

I refuse to answer those calls but like others say they don't leave a message.  I finally got rid of the company that called almost daily about lowering our interest rate.  When I asked them the name of the card holder she  said "mr. " and hung up!

Called before 9:00 am.  No message.  I refuse to answer unknown callers.  Anyone who knows me will leave a message.

Called today and hung-up when I answered called back and got a recording saying it was the F.O.P. and they would call back I hope not I sure don't have any money for them

I have gotten a daily calls  from this number, last one @ 9:00 am today. Although    they don't leave a message or say anything when I answer the phone this is very annoying. several months ago they were using this number to solicit for the fop(fooling other people) if this is still the case why won't they say anything. it seem that every since I registered my phones on the do not call list, I get numerous calls a day on house and mobile phone. makes me wonder if this was a front to sell telephone numbers for a profit. "just saying", the unwanted calls are worst now than they've ever been.

They call my house everyday, which most of the time they just stay on the phone and say nothing but I can hear an out of shape dude breathing . Accept for today after about three times of saying hello. Some hilljack
finally answered with a strong Tennesee accent. Wanting to talk to another person in the house, when I asked may I take a message? The hilljack responded there is no message that he would call back later at another time. He sounded very unprofessional and uneducated.

What else can we do to stop the Jerks that will not follow the DO NOT CALL LIST?

Caller ID read INFOP.  I figured it was related to the many calls I get from state troopers fund asking for donations.  Let the machine get it, no message.

765-535-1731   several calls hangs up when answered

Like most everyone here, this caller calls once--when answering machine picks up they hang up leaving no message and then immediately call back before the answering machine has time to reset.  Caller ID states 765-535-1731 is identified as INFOP.  If they're looking for donations, they need to learn some phone courtesy first!

I just got a called, the caller ID said IN and it was the indiana state police collecting money. I tried to tell him I would not guarantee any amount and he said he could not send out packet. So I said well thats up to you. He was very nice and thanked me for past pledges and told me to have a nice day. So Im guessing its a universal telemarketing company that will call for different organizations.

We get a call from this number about once a week, but they never leave any voicemail. Caller ID simply says 765-535-1731 on my cell phone. I tracked it as coming from Springport, Indiana (located between New Castle & Muncie), - Henry County.

You can send the Indiana  FOP a message and they'll take you off the telemarketing list. They called us incessantly, day and night, until I complained to the FOP. It was really annoying because my mother is suffering from dementia and would answer the phone and talk to them, which made them call even more often. Email address is: fop@instatefop.org

I called them back and got a recording.  

To wit:

So I went into my GV (GoogleVoice) and blocked them from ever calling me (from that number) ever again.  (They had called some three times over the past week or so.)


NOTE:  Anyone calling on behalf of Indiana Police, FOP, etc is likely to be that same scam outfit that was taken to court a few years back for calling on behalf of police organizations and then absconding with 100% of the money before declaring bankruptcy.  


Don't expect  a single red cent given to these scam artists to reach any good cause at all !  (The TENNESSEE hillbilly accents they have should give them away as not even being located in the crappy state of INDIANA.  But with today's modern technology they could be located in BUMM-F-ANYWHERE and appear to be located inside the USA.)
