You have confused "working" with "Stealing". Because tricking people out of money by lying about wher it goes amounts to stealing. Sites like this make it tough to find new victims on the phone, don't they?

This is an honest company. They are paid telemarketers and some of the money does go to the cost to raise money. For example...to pay the telemarketers and the cost associated to running the call center. These people need to work also. The charities do receive the donations and the professional funraisers are put there to raise the monies effectively. If we didn't have these paid  solicitors than this charities wouldn't receive what as many donations. All donations are tax deductible. Of course it would be nice if 100 percent went to the charities but I was agreed to use these professional companies by the charities themselves. By donating you help not only the charities but the families of the telemarketers to provide food on the table for their families. Basically. Your helping the economy and killing two birds with one stone.

This number 765 683-2465 calls 5-6 times a day[ at least for the past 6 days\ all hours of the day and when you pick up the phone it's dead air. When you're on the no call list this means you Don't want calls like this.

Thank you very much for your post. You have given some excellent information which I will be checking into. I am a veteran and I NEVER give to any charities over the phone, and NEVER to a "charity" that can't give me a receipt right then and there. It's not that I don't want to donate, but I want to be sure the actual charity is getting the money.

This caller keeps calling at about 8:50 pm, every night. It shows up as AT T Messaging on my caller ID. I figured it was a cell user trying to use text to landline. I just waited to hear the text message voicemail...but nothing. From reading other's complaints I'm guessing the Fraternal Order of Police are at it again.

here is something to try, these jackassess are using an autodialer.  go online and record the international tones for "number no longer in service"  (google it).  If you dont have a voice recorder use the one in you cell phone, mine is called voice notes.  When they call grab you cell, answer the call and then play back the tones.  Most auto dialers pick up the tones and then log your number as not in service and deletes it from the program.  I can not guarantee this will work every time, but it has worked a couple of time for me with different nusiance callers.  Good Luck!

Comes up the same on ours, they will argue with you, when you tell them you aren't donating. Get some calls very early in the morning. What can be done?

I've received 1 to 2 calls a day from this number for the past three weeks, at all hours of the day: as early as 8:00 am to as late as 9:00 pm. I'm sick of it!!!  The DO NOT CALL registry should apply to ALL agencies, even non-profits.

I also get these calls about every other day.  They come up as At&T messaging.  I have them blocked on my cell phone but you can't block them from your home phone.  I called them back this a.m. and it said to put in your phone number.  I didn't however I just hung up.  I think I will call the news media and see how it works or if it will.  See if they can investigate it!..  It is ridiculous and I - as well am SICK OF THIS!!

Been getting calls from 765-683 2465. They come up as Louisville LIGH    Calls reg, phone and now my cell phone.  Ask for me by name. I do not answer calls from people I don't know. I am on do not call list but that doesn't stop solicitors from calling anyway. Bah

Called once yesterday and again today.  Did not leave a message on my answering machine.

Just got a missed call from this number.

Have received several calls from this number this month.  No message is left.  When I've answered the phone, they hang up. "Affiliated VM" shows on my caller ID.

Repeatedly calls home. Instant hang-up, no messages, or a message, but nothing heard and only 1 second long.

Just received a call  from this number soliciting funds for the Fraternal Order of Indiana State Police.  They said the money was for the families of police officers killed in the line of duty.

The actual "Caller ID" name was AT T MESSAGINGG describing themselves as the Fraternal Order of Indiana State Police.

765-683-2465 shows up as AT& T Messenger on our caller ID.

We had been out of the country for 3 weeks,,came home to fine 47 messages on the answering machine,,,most of those with the exception of 4 personal friends,,were mostly from 765-683-2465,

We are on the NO CALL LIST and have been for several years,

Please stop these phone calls from interfering in our lives,

This is a scam tele fundraiser for it would seem multiple charities that are questionable themselves. However, in most states they must start their pitch by saying

"Hello, my name is (full name of fundraiser registered with the SOS or AG) and I am a paid fundraiser with (full name of fundraising company registered with AG or SOS) and I am calling "on behalf" of (full name of charity registered with AG or SOS)

If they do not do this and they claim to be members of the group they are raising money for then they are committing fraud against the donor. It is considered in some States to be "Obtaining Money By False Pretenses" and in others it is considered "Theft By Deception" and still other States considered it to be "Larceny". But no matter what you call it it is stealing from the Donor. In some cases when they get caught they are fined as much as 40 grand per call. I read our States Charitable Solicitation's Act and it looks like very few of these companies are raising money according to the Law's of our State and I will bet that if you read your States Charitable Solicitation Act you will find the same to be true.

When they claim to be a member of the group they are raising money for, as this company is doing, it is damaging all other charities that do not use so called "Professional Fundraiser's" to raise money. They all know this but they continue to steal from "us" the donating public. Fundraiser's like this must be put out of business as they lie to the donor and they do this because some of these so called fundraisers get to keep as much as 99% of the money they collect and they use that money to call us over and over again to ask us for more money that they can use to call us over and over again. If you want to give money to charity then the best way is to hang up on the tele fundraiser committing fraud and search out the charity yourself.

This company seems to be calling for Police Fire and Veteran's groups as well as medical and children's groups. All of which are wasting the bulk of your donation on fundraising and administrative costs like salary's for the charity officials. They are the people whose information took out the United States Navy Veterans Association that stole 99.6 million in donations last year. They were also behind the demise of Civic Development Group out of NJ and the FTC's Operation False Charity in 2009 Nationwide based on their book "The Fraud Happen's In The First 8 Word's" which was sent out to all AG's and SOS's. They say they have contacts with the AG's, SOS's ,DHS, FTC, DOJ, FCC and Secret Service across the Country and their tips have been used in some of the largest Charity Fraud investigation's Nationwide as well as other Countries.  You can also find their book called "What The Fundraiser's Say" at a link on their site. They say they are a Church Group and they say this is the Mission of this Church to protect donations going to Police Fire Veteran Medical and Children's Charities. That book is a real eye opener made up of comments by the people calling you. After reading it, I will sure never make a donation over the phone again to any group that use so called "Professional Fundraiser's" that operate outside of the law and use illegal techniques to steal money from little sick kids or cops or firefighters or anyone else who really needs it.

Anyway, the long and short of it is, GIVE DIRECTLY AND CUT OUT MIDDLEMAN COMPANIES THAT CALL YOU!

We too have been getting these calls about three a day.  The caller ID identifies them as AT&T Messaging.  Never have caught the call until today, when my son caught it, but they wouldn't leave a message with him either and hung up before he could tell them to not call during the day.  Go figure.  Finally googled the number and obviously it's not AT&T after all.  My husband works nights and these calls are coming in during the day and they're keeping him awake.  It needs to stop.  I too am on the Do Not Call Lists.  They need to be reported to authorities.

I just got a call from 765-683-2465.The guy said he was calling from the Indiana Fraternal Order Of Police for Falling Officers and wanted a $40 dollar donation.I told him I didn't have the money as my daughter was going through some medical issues.He then said I can put you down for $30 I said no he said how about $25 or $20.I told him again due to my daughters medical problems I don't have any extra money and hung up the phone.I came across a statement from The Indianapolis Fraternal Order Of Police that said it is a scam they do not call asking for donations and to report the number to the FTC.

This is NOT the real F.O.P.  Do not give these people any money.

Called me today, and it was the Indiana State Police. It was a call asking for a donation, and I had gotten on the list they called me from by donating money in previous years. They were civil and reminded me about the previous donations to the force, that the decal for my car window that they sent was outdated, and to throw it away, and thanked me for donating. However, I tried to get away by saying No, I had no money to give, because of the times, and he kept asking for me to donate, until I finally said no thank you and hung up. I am almost positive they will call back in the Spring, then the Summer, etc.

Once you request a DNC from any "charity" if they call back - Report them to authorities.
Also, many are "fake charities"
