How are they getting cell numbers?

Received a text message from this number and didn't know who it was. It just "Hey". 7657440789. I googled the number and came across a few other warnings. Matched up the details with the text message he sent claiming his name was Jason, and that he went to IU and have my name in his contacts but forgets who it is. (with a lot of "haha's and lols"). Apparently this person is a cyber stalker and mobile stalker, once confronted he then further said he got my number from his WORK. Which is different then the first text. This guy needs investigated and procecuted.

This person claims to be named "Jason", lives in Indianapolis, and works remotely for a large bank located in downtown Indy.
He has sent several inappropriate texts to me, and tried to convince me we had me out.  I am not sure how he got my number, but ladies please do not speak to him and definitely do not meet up with him!

I just received a text with the same circumstance and can't for the life of me figure out how he got my cell phone number. He informed me of the same story, I warned him that I would file charges and all of which are saved. He then said he got my number from his work which is obviously different from the IU address contact list.

My friend and I both got identical texts from him saying that his name was Jason and that he went to IU. He said that he met us a the BSU homecoming and that we must have partied together. We both know for a fact that what he said wasn't true. When I googled the number, it said the number is on the Verizon network. I wonder if Verizon is able to release the real name behind him?? He sent me a pic via text and I posted it on facebook and twitter to see if anyone knew him. I had one person respond saying it looks like a guy from Yorktown who graduated in '05 or '06 ...

He text me the exact same thing yesterday...he knew my name and actually sent me pics with out me asking. The dude is a total creeper!!

Actually he is Jason Jones. My girlfriend went to high school with him. He does not attend IU or Ball State. He does however live in Muncie, Indiana. He is a cyber stalker and mobile stalker.

I just got the same thing. So i googled his number and came across this. He knew my first name and last initial and said he went to IU. Wanted to send me pics of him bc i didnt know who he was. I denied. creeeeeepy!

I am her friend and i meant ball state lol but he is very creepy. Do not text him!

this guy contacted me saying he had my number is in his phone (he used my name with it) and he wondered how we met.
he said he goes to indiana university, so we could've met there which i believed because i party there a lot.

sent me pictures through email to see if i recognized him, not on the phone (weird). i had no idea who he was.

said he went to IU and gave his two room mates names ( both didn't have facebook, which in college is rare for a group of three people), said his name was jason jones.

then i looked up his number on google, and came across this. i put up a status on facebook asking if anyone had ever been contacted by jason jones. one of my friends told me a jason jones texted her and said they met at basketball state. she didn't recall it but somehow he had her number.

this guy is a creep, he's not jason jones, he does not go to iu, and you should not text him!

Creep who has contacted many of my friends via text with the same story. Do not respond to him!
