Even if it is Verizon Wireless, that alone makes it a scam... a very unhappy customer.

Left me a cell message saying I took a survey and they want to  talk further about it. Don't remember any survey and didn't hear who they were. Gave a 800 # to call and I did not

This is a number that calls to try to get your information and then take over your account. In most cases your wireless carrier. When you call it back its always busy, when they call you they do not leave a message, and they have no answering machine.

This is a call center. They should leave a little a message if it is legit

According to verizon this is not related to them, beware of all calls the fraudsters are out to get your lines

This number called about 6x a day for over a week starting as early as 8am...it's Verizon calling about a past due bill in which I have already scheduled a payment for. When they come on the line, they say "we see you have a payment scheduled"... well then why in the hell do you feel it nessary to still call 6x a day??? HARRASING and UNESSARY!!!

Actually it is Verizon Customer Care.  They promised to call me back and did.  I didn't answer and she left me  a voicemail.  Not sure you can call into the number.  She said she would try me back and I'll answer this time :-)

I called Verizon and this number is NOT theirs.

We had people hijack our phones for the 4th time, then I got a phone call from this number, we were already on the line with Verizon at the time so why would they be calling us when we were already talking to them about the hacking?????

You are way of base !!!!! "phishing" in the manner you describe is somewhat accurate.  ACS is an inbound callcenter.  They do not contact customer or phish and they are not telemarketers.  Next time you reply to a post use spellcheck!

It's not ridiculous that people are concerned now.  There are a lot of scams & it's better safe than sorry.  I rarely ever answer phone calls, I don't have the time of day to be interested.  I check them out to place on my "Do Not Call" list.  If it's important they will leave a voice mail.

Yes, This was a number for XEROX...I applied for a job with them, I had no idea, it was for Verizon though. I applied for a job last week, and someone left me a message today, saying I needed to take a typing test for Xerox..?

It actually is not a *SCAM* - they are calls from a Verizon Wireless Customer Service call center. I used to work there. The reason it is busy when you try to call the number back is because it is a huge phone system with that number as a *DUMMY* number when the REPS call out to call people back. All the phones are linked to one system with that same number. Hope this helps anyone who wanted to know. ACS is a company owned by Xerox and they are contracted to work for Verizon Wireless. :)

This was a call back from Verizon Wireless for me.  I had some issues with my cell phone, and she needed to talk to me on another line while she had me download some updates to the cell phone.  I don't know if they use this number for other things, but I can say it was in response to a call from me originally asking for help.  I only put unknown under call type because there was nothing listed that would fit as to the type of call, and I didn't know what SMS means

You are totally wrong!! It's a call center who is trying to get permission to access an account for customers. They are not "phishing" they are Verizon wireless.

Just got a call and called it back.It to keeps ringing busy. However, I ask Verizon about this number when I speak to them.

I recieved two calls from this number 2 minutes apart.  tried calling it back 5 times and got a busy signal everytime.  Hopped on Google to see if there was anything on it and found this site.  glad to see it is a scam and i didnt answer it.

I also received a call from this number and my caller id said it is from Pendleton, IN... They never left a message and when i tried to call it back it was busy everytime...

Who ever this number belongs to,  either talk when the phone is answered or leave
a message.  If your too stupid to do either one then you don't need to call people.

on 3/9/11 i got a call on my cell from this number, i did not pick up,  i just started a search on who it was and this page was my 'first' stop.

I received this call, but did not pick up since I did not recognize the number-- I only have a cell, no landline and I don't want to waste airtime minutes on these types of calls- I refuse to pick up.

It is ACS Recruiting in Anderson Indiana, they are a temp agency that hires people for the Verizon Call Center in Anderson, Indiana. If you are signed up on www.indianacareerconnect.com, that is where they get your number from. They are calling you trying to hire you.
