We received a call from this number yesterday and they also said that they were the FBI and wanted to know if we were interested in a free alarm system!!! I thought it was crazy, I told themthat we were not interested and hung up!!! Sounds a little off to me, I do not trust them who ever they may be,

25Aug2010:  I got the same message.  "Just got a call from this number indicating that the FBI reports home invasions is on the rise and if I press 1 I can claim my free in-home alarm system. I hung up as there was no option to opt out."

I got a call from this number (765 807 6511) & when I called it back an automated message said "If you'd like to be placed on our do not call list, please press one now".

The recorded message starts out with "Hello! The FBI reports breakins in your neighborhood".  We will be in your neighborhood this week installing..

They want to sell you something.  Click the Operator button and they will hang up.

If you talk with people like this, give them an address you know goes to NO HOUSE.  Do not sic them on a friend for a joke or an enemy.  Give them a bad address and let them deal with it.

I received a call on my cell phone which was unwarranted.  I do not give my cell phone number out to anyone to call so I did not give prior permission to have someone call my cell phone number.  

Stemming from the 1991 Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) (47 U.S.C. 227), the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) (47 C.F.R. 64.1200) has set regulations that many, including CMOR,2 have interpreted that survey organizations that are trying to contact U.S. cell phone numbers should never dial those numbers by any type of mechanized dialer without express prior consent.

By calling my cell phone without prior consent and I'm assuming an autodialer is being used this puts the company that is making these phones in direct violation of federal laws.

just recieved a call from 765-807-6511, they left a message saying they would be in the area installing home alarms. dont leave your family unsafe...... blah blah &%^*&* blah

I have just filed a complaint with the FCC regarding this number. I received a call on two consecutive days with a very long nonsense message on my voicemail and was concerned about what this could mean. I did not respond, but looked it up on Google and found this site. Thank you. I encourage others to do the same. The other number was 765-807-6514.

I JUST got a phone call from this phone nyumber. I answered, and no answer. I called back, and they don't say who they are, they only say, "If you want to be placed on our Do Not Call List, please press 1." Earlier today I got a call from another number with the same recording as soon as you call back! Don't answer any weird phone numbers, or area codes that you've never seen before! They're charging you!

Whenever you get these, GO TO FCC.GOV and file a complaint. You can also sue for $500-$1500 if they're calling your cell (even if it's not on the nat'l Do Not Call registry!) because it starts with an automated message without providing the caller's information. Complain at FCC.GOV!
Sorry I can't tell you how to sue until we figure out who is making the calls.
Today's calls from this number were trying to sell ADT home security systems.

Hi, I just received for the second day in a row from the same number as you.  I just registered my cell number with NYS DNC list.  I've already done this with my home phone so I know it works.  It takes approx. 31 days to take effect.  DO NOT answer these calls, it costs you money and it verifies that it is a working number.  These on going calls are annoying.

I suspect they are searching for number verification. If you answer or call back they know this is a valid number. Then they compile a list of valid numbers to sell.

Just received a call from and no message left.  I called the NYS Do Not Call Registry yesterday since I received a few calls and didnt want to be bothered by telemarketers. I heard they were releasing cell phone numbers this month. 888-382-1222 is the phone number from NYS to be put on a DNC list, but you must call from number you want blocked, you cant call from a different number and request a different number.  I was skeptical about calling and hope I didnt make things worse by putting my number out there

Yep. Same here. Its been the second day this number has called and not left a message. They even called me the same time yesterday.

I also just got a call from them.  Since I have been advertising on Craigslist and now in the SuperPages I get a lot of these calls.  Called back and a recorded message asks if I would like to be put on their do not call list, press 1.

I just got a call from them but I missed it.  I gave them a call back and it's an answering service that says if I would like to be put on their do not call list, press 1.

I've gotten the exact same message from a number that called me from Maine a week or two ago.
