just got cussed out for being rude about not believing the woman who called saying they were sending us a gift card because we had ordered from them before. I have been here almost 15 years, and we have never bought from them before. Nice try, fools!

A.  If unsolicited goods are delivered by mail or common carrier to a person, such person may refuse to accept delivery of the goods and shall not be bound to return such goods to the sender.  If such unsolicited goods are addressed to and intended for the recipient, they shall be deemed a gift to the recipient, who may use the goods or dispose of them in any manner without any obligation to the sender.
B.  This section does not apply to any:
1.  Property, material or other thing of value mailed by mistake in response to an order, request or application for other property, materials or other thing of value. , or
2.  Property, material or other thing of value mailed in response to an order, request or application from a person but mistakenly mailed to another person. , or
3.  Substantially equivalent substitute property, material or other thing of value mailed in response to an order, request or application for any other property, material or other thing of value.
4.  Property, material or other thing of value mailed to a person pursuant to an order, request or application of another person.

Scam Scam Scam....... I tried calling phone numbers available for this company. I keep being put into a loop to leave messages. I sent box of bulbs back that cost $27.00 each Total bill was over $700.00. Local hardware store sells same bulb for $10.99. I informed our AP rep that this invoice is not to be paid.

This company sent me the bulbs- I didn't even realize it was a scam until I tried to call them back and tell them that the size was wrong (We actually use this type of light bulb). And that's when I realized that this company was a fraud... I'm going to keep the light bulbs and not pay them :)

Looks  like they are at it again --- Free lights--- , $100.00 Dollar gift card . sneaky they are!!!!

Our Plant Manager fell for this scam already so when they called me (I work in purchasing) I knew what they were up to. I was just left a voicemail thanking me for our overhead lighting buinsess and they left a phone number for me to call them back on. I will not be calling them back!! Hard to believe that people are scamming companies like this.

Same call, same scam.  I sent the bulbs back to them haven't received a confirmation on the return, and personally don't care.  Wish I would have seen this forum prior to that phone call.  Oh well.  FYI when I received the bulbs---31 days later I received the invoice for $601.70 for 25 F32 T8/741 flourescent bulbs and on that invoice it states that from the date of issue on that invoice (again 31 days prior to receiving it) you have 30 days to return the shipment with no penalties.  SOMEHOW I actually got through to them and explained I was NOT going to send payment and their bulbs would be sent back, they stated no problem (Deborah was the person I spoke to).  I then asked why their bulbs were so expensive (24.07/bulb) and she stated it was due to the warranty on the bulb.  I laughed and told her I could go to Home Depot and purchase 10 boxes of 25 bulbs for the same price.  Anyhow, bulbs returned and no word, and yes I can't get through on the phone either.  Oh well!!

Got the same type call...advised they were sending "free" bulbs based on purchases from out other location, oh yeah and the whole $100 gift card too. They called themselves Industrial & Commercial Products.  Ph# was 800-854-8952.  I had given our address and my name by the time they started mentioning the gift card and the fact that I had to call some other number to "activate" it and get it mailed.  I hung up and never called the other number but we rec'vd the bulbs by UPS.  So, after verifying with our other offices that no had ever heard of this company.  I contacted UPS to advise them of the fraud and to find out how to return the bulbs at the company's expense.  Will NOT pay any invoice that shows up and will make sure they get their "free" bulbs back!!!  Make sure to report this to the BBB and the shipper!!!

My name is Hector and i just received that call last week, 2 days later i got the box of 4 foot light bulbs half broken, when i call them all i got was a answering machine...   I ask to see if there was a charge to the box and just yesterday I got a call back from one of their reps saying that it will be 350.00 so i told them i didnt ordered and she didnt gave me a resolution, all i got was a we will contact your sales person to see if there is something we can do????   they also were using a 1800 8548952 number...

Commercial Distributing sent us FREE light bulbs in 2009, then an invoice for over $700.  They call me almost every day asking for payment or to send them back... I told them they are free and I am keeping them and not paying... can't believe they are still calling almost two years later!  Makes me giggle..... also, never used the bulbs, they are sitting in our warehouse.....

Just send them back, you dont really need an RA# like they say. There is always someone there between the hours of 8-4 mon-thurs  to recieve the lights. Use the Do Not Call List and block them.

Same thing. Someone Called. Even refferenced the name of our maint. engineer. Says he ordered some lightbulbs and they are on their way. They also said they wanted to send out a 100 dollar gift card as a thank you for our business. Total BS. Our maint. engineer never made such an order. Box of light bulbs showed up. I WILL NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS PAY THIS. I will also fight them to the end of the earth to make sure they do not get any money. My Boss is the kind of guy that if you wrong he will run you out of business. They have no idea what they got themselves into!!!! I am so insulted I will make it my lifes goal to wipe them off the face of the earth.They will be selling light bulbs in nigeria when im done with them. I actually after about 50 rings someone answered. The answered as "Hello, Lighting" I stated that I must have gotten a shipment of lightbulbs by mistake. They stated "Oh my Goodness" as if they were not running a scam and this was not the first time they have heard this. I played it cool and cordial and they stated they will send me a shipping label. If they know whats good for them, they will send that label. Or may God have mercy on thier company's soul. Because I will pick them apart.

This just happened to me too, received call saying that they are going to send me a 100 dollar gift card and then received a case off bulbs with 536.17 invoice, the 100 dollars was the cut, what's this?, somebody can help on this, what we can do?

We received a call from Sharon who left a message in the Accounts Payable department to return her call to 800-381-8405.  When we called, a message said "Thank you for your confirmation of your order, no further contact is required.....WHAT?????

Wow this one was done really well. I am usually pretty good at this scam stuff. I will not be paying this invoice for sure!

They used to be called North Star Lighting.... I've been watching them for a while.  They keep coming up with different names then targeting the same businesses.  The punishment should be death for scams like this.  That is the only way it will stop.  They've been doing it for 20 years.  Enough is enough.

Just joined the company and our AP person just informed me that this commercial distributing company was harassing her and forcing us to pay their invoice for the supposedly light bulbs that we ordered in 2009. Our Purchasing department denied that we made the order and our Receiving  department confirmed we never received the light bulbs. We will not pay! It is a SCAM! It is already a year old invoice and they are still trying their luck if they scam us for $331.00

A box of lights came in last week.   My maint department said they did not order them.  I tried to call the number on the box and it doesn't work.   I did call the other number listed on here and left a message. I want to send them back but they should have to pay for the return freight.   I'm waiting for a call back if they don't call me back then I'll call them again.  Worse comes to worse I will send them back.  We will not pay for this.

I recieved the same call from Commercial Distrbuting and when I questioned "Fran" she said they had changed their name from Industrial and Copmmercial Distributing.

I told "Fran" I did not need lighbubls now and asked for a number where I could reach her if I wanted to order in the future. She gave me 1800-845-8951.

I then found this posting and called "Fran" back. I was put on hold several times and left but I continued to call back untill I got "Fran" again. I told her that my business manager has no record of any purchases from them and that I had found this post and the BBB F rating. "Fran" said she was unaware of any of the "scam" reports. I told her to remove my company from her list.

This company just pulled the same thing with My company.  If you call them and tell them to email you proof of delivery, and any other documents you need, they get really hesitant and defer from trying to send it to you.  I have told them I was doing research online about this company and that it looked to be a scam and they got really quiet.  I doubt I will see any of the proof I asked for.  Oh Yeah, THEY DO NOT EVEN HAVE EMAIL!!!!!

MichaelK did that UPS account work to send the bulbs back? We have the same issue, have the bulbs sitting in our loading dock, and now have an alleged collection agent calling (who also seems to be an expert in light bulbs....hmmm) and we'd love nothing more than to send these back on their dime.

Our company received a big box with light bulbs that we did not order. I called this phone number to see what happened and a gentleman took my call and said that customer service would call me back ASAP.
That was about 3 week ago. I'm shipping this package back but it will cost us the shipping fee but I don't wnat to keep it in here any longer. Hopefully they will receive it and it will end there. Be aware of this scams!!

Received a call from the 765-827-0400 number yesterday stating they would be sending light bulbs per our past purchase and provided a reference #.

Just received not only A call but four total calls.  They gave me their number as (765)827-0400 and the "Wal Mart" confirmation number line as (800)381-8405.  They called back three times to make sure that I had the number and wanted me to call to confirm.  On the final call I informed them that I had confirmed it was a scam and to place me on their do not call list and that I was filing a report with the BBB and the sheriff's office....suddenly they did not want to talk to me any more!!!
