This is a call from Verizon. When I called to have my new phone activated they couldn't do it because I was on my new phone and there was a problem with the phone. The agent then called me back on my house phone and the phone number is from Verizon.

i called 611 on my cell and verizon verified this is a legit number  for some reason my mail was returned to them so they call to  make sure  you didnt forget to change your address or some otheir  problem...it is a outside vendor for then

This seams to be exactly correct. I just received the call more or less based around the same issue.

Woman called claiming to be Verizon and wanting my address. I almost went there since I'm a new customer, but then got my wits and asked her to verify she was Verizon. She said she was not allowed to and told me I could add my address via the web. This happened November 12, 2012. Of course, I checked and Verizon has my address.

First they called the secondary number on my account (my husbands phone) and asked for him by name even though I am the primary contact. Like others they stated they had returned mail from our address and asked if we would verify it. My husband told them that we've never had a problem getting our bills and if they could verify the address that the returned mail was sent to we could help them out. They hung up. After searching we found out that people who verified the address have had phones and lines added onto their accounts. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFO!

Lady said she needed to verify my address since bills were getting returned.  She enunciated like she was low-life individual (trash), so I was skeptical.  I told her I would make the change on the website and hung up.

I got a call from this phone number claiming to be Verizon Wireless and asking me to confirm my home address as they have been getting our mail returned to them.  I knew it was bogus from the start because he mentioned me by my maiden name.
We have had VZN for years and receive mail from them constantly and have not moved.  I asked him to verify that it was our account by telling me what address he had and he told he couldn't unless I gave him personal information to verify I was the account holder.  I refused and he stated he could put me through to an automated system that would let me enter it on my keypad.  I told him I would have my husband speak to our local VZN office.  He got defensive with me and hung up on me.

Got several calls from this number on my cell phone right after scam call that compromised my cell phone account

2 calls-no id, no message. not fm anyone I recognize.

Got a call from this number twice, both one right after another, IDK who it was so I did not answer.

Called them back and the hold music was for some kind of vehicle trade in promotion. Then the line just disconnected.
