this caller is strange person left the voice mail ask call back but not identify their business name or his name

Harassing call!! Called my cell while I was at work and my daughter's phone.

It's a junk collection company that buys old collections for penny's on the dollar. Don't answer or they will never leave you alone.

This number comes up every few minutes. It just started today, and when I try to call back, no one answers. I don't know who is calling me. It just started and ironically, it is almost Christmas the most stressful time of the year. I finally had to turn my phone off because it is so annoying.

Does anyone know what company this is?

I registered my phone to block solicitation calls this morning.

Lady called me from Protocal, but wanted me to verify my address and had supposedly talked to my daughter first to get my work cell #.  I told her not giving her any info, she already had last 4 of my social.  I told her to send me a letter and she got irate, so I hung up....But I did tell her she had called a business line and not to call it again, she argued about that and commented it was good to know I was working.

A Steve Hill wanted me talk to me asap.

I got a call from work from these people.  I work for the government,  so when the caller said she was from "protocol " I thought she meant government protocol.  I (stupidly) answered some of her questions.  I am a widow.  My husband had some bad debts.  I am guessing that is what she was calling about.  As soon as she went into her spiel, "his is an attempt to collect a debt.  .." I hung up.  But several individuals keep calling me from this place, both at work and at home.  I received 3 calls from them today.

I had Georgia Check tell me about 2 1/2 years ago that I owed them for a bad check.  It so happened the check was to a diner that we frequented and the owner's and servers know us well.  Come to find out it was all a scam.  I'm glad I did not give them any information.  Now....2 1/2 years late a phone number 1-770-425-8856 calls me...they are called Protocol.  Now they are saying I owe a hospital bill from 4 years ago. I check into things, then I call them back and ask what state they are out of, they do not want to tell me, then finally,.  They tell me Georgia!!!  Same thing, different scenerio.  Watchout for Protocol Collections!!!!!!!

I told them I knew they were a scam and related to Georgia Check, after three people, the last being the so-called Supervisor, he stated they had an A+ rating w/ BBB....I said, Oh no you don't, I already checked, you are not a member!!!!  He argued and finally agreed to take my name off the call list.....so.....we will see!Reply !


FYI.....they pushed hard to get my checking acct number so I could give them $25 to show them that I was serious about this debt....once they get your checking....not good!!!!

They called and didn't Identify themselves in the message they left just that I NEED to call him back, and they left a 877 number (he said his name really fast and couldn't understand it)   No I am not calling.  My message clearly states if you do not leave a reason why you are calling I will not call you back.  So now both the number that came up and the 877 one you left are now blocked. It is illegal for a collection agency to call and not disclose they are are a collection agency.

this persons name  is josh he calls everyday at my work to harrass me ,, he tells anyone that answers Hi my name is josh, and i need to  talk to  her today . He tries to make out like he is my friend. I dont have a clue who he is nad i am not calling him back

This number called my former in-laws house today looking for me, minus their son's last name.  My former father-in-law told them his son and I were divorced and hung up.  I haven't had the name they asked for in almost 10 years!

Called my cell. If you think there's a moral issue, then exercise your rights under the law and take me to court. Hint: It works a lot better if you're the one I actually had a financial relationship with, not a bottom-feeding collection hack.

So where are you now? Another hit-and-run by a cowardly collector.

If they can't tell anything else, where do all those threats and lies and harassment come from?

everybody pay their bills and all the collection calls would stop! they can't tell you anything but their name and company name and the person they are calling for....it is a violation of the FDCPA dumbasses

received this at 9:40 Mar 31, 2010 for my daughter said that they were working on something.  You think! Don't know who they are.

I have filed two suits against collection agencies and have been successful. There are lots of ways they can violate the FDCPA but here are the really common ones, as told to me.
   * Disclose the existence of your debt to a third person like family, friends or co-workers
   * Use obscene or profane language
   * Falsely imply that you have committed crime or imply that you are about to be arrested
   * Attempt to intimidate you or your family
   * Claim to be an attorney or send a letter made to look like it is from an attorney when he/she is not an attorney

They can't tell anyone besides you or your spouse that they are calling about a debt. They can't swear at you either. If they tell you they are sending the sheriff over, they're breaking the law. If they try to scare you or your family, they're also breaking the law. They can't tell you they are an attorney or pretend to be one.

Anyway, if you are having problems with a collector, call Mark Carey's law office at 877-909-MARK. He?s the Same consumer rights attorney I used.

Update: to reach a 4-digit extension, you have to go through their toll-free number, 877-678-0567.
You will be prompted to enter an extension or wait for "the next available agent".
I did call x3108 hoping to reach Robert Wilson, however the person who answered
the call (twice) was naming himself "John Devine". Makes you wonder if these cowardly people hide behind false names, behind each other, basically behind anything thay can think of.

I wonder if their names or phone extensions, or both,  are fake.

I keep getting calls from this "Wilson"  also.  He is looking for my ex-husband and I take great offense that he is calling me by his name, when I have been remarried for some time.  When I call back, I never seem to get the chance to enter his extension.

What was the caller's first name? Was it Robert? One "Robert Wilson" from Protocol tried to harass me a long time ago, looking for another person. Do you know his phone extension? Thanks.

Called us (Wilson) and then apparently looked in the phone book to match our last name - have no idea who they are but they called my inlaws looking for me or my husband.  Either work for CitiFinancial or PHH Mortgage both who have received do not call letters from us - CERTIFIED RETURN RECEIPT - reporting to the Better Business and Attorney General for violating our privacy rights.

Have received numerous calls on my answering machine where there is just a humming sound.  Based on other reports, it appears it may be this company Protocol.  A woman called my husband yesterday quizzing him about a family member, yet, would not provide him any information.  I received a call today with a woman quizzing me about the same family member.  They would not provide any information other than the company's name, her name and number.  Of course, I researched the number and glad I did.  I feel it is their underhanded way of trying to trick innocent individuals (me and my husband)!  No way!

I received a notice in the mail from this company for debt recovery - my first namr but different Middle Initial.  There are hundreds of people in the US and my city with same name as me.  The debt is not mine, so I threw in the trash.  I get calls on land line with recorded messages about returning their call , very important mater, etc, etc.
Sounds like it could be a con job posing as a collection agency.  I'm no expert - just a guess...

I just saw the message from Alfalfa with the name of the company. Decided to call them myself.  I spoke with a very kind man who said he would take my number off the list.  He said I would NOT receive any more calls.  We'll see.
