I have received three calls in the past two days from this number.  Corporate Payroll Services.  She was going to be "in town" on Monday and wanted to drop off some information and meet with me about handling my company payroll.  The 2nd time she called I told her that I'd already told her once that I wasn't interested and she said "well I knew you were busy then and wanted to call back and make an appt to come meet with you".  Um, NO!  Later the same day I got a 3rd call from a different person.  I called back and told them that I'm on the do not call list and they need to stop calling. I also reported them to www.donotcall.gov.  I encourage you all to do the same. It's quick and easy to do.

Yes several calls from this number, I wonder if they are smart enough to google their own number and see what's written here?  Hey, smart people at "C P S," great acronym!  I'm sure you picked that name because you really want your customers to (inevitably on first seeing the call ID) to associate your service with the well-known meaning of CPS?

Or is it more designed to "o my god, it says CPS calling, I better answer or they might take my kids!"   Why not just change your "company" name to Ivan's Robocalling Service so then you can put IRS on the caller id straightaway.

I have had countless call from this co. as well. I have asked to be removed from their list as many times. Rude. Unprofessional. I can imagine how many accounts they get with this customer service.

I recieved a call from them today.  The woman was very vague--she didn't even know who she was calling for because she gave an incorrect name.  When I asked specificall what she was calling about she hung up.  We are on a do not call list and I plan to report this.

Woman from this number calls regularly (sometimes twice a day), both from this number and a number that shows on caller ID as "Private."  She obviously thinks I don't recognize her name and voice from one call to the next.  She always asks for business owner by first name, acting as if they are good friends when, in fact, he has no idea who she is!  When I asked if the owner was expecting her call, and she responded, "Maybe."  How cheeky!!!  I've repeatedly told her we are NOT interested in their services, but she keeps calling anyway.  The last time she called (on the number that displays as "Private"), I hung up on her, and she immediately called back on the (770) 446-7289 number and DEMANDED to know my name.  Why would anyone EVER want to do business with a company like that??????????

The BBB can't do anything.  They send a mean letter and the company replies with "Oh, we took care of that last week." and the BBB "inquiry" is over. The company has officially complied with all of their requests.  They have no real power.

Here's what to do:
Send a letter with signature delivery.  Costs about $0.65.  Send it to the Accounts Payable department as boiler room telemarketing businesses know what's up and won't accept a letter with signature delivery unless they think there's a check inside.  Is that dishonest?  No.  I'm just sending a letter to a company employee who is most likely to sign for receipt of that letter

Below is a sample letter that I have sent several times.  It has never resulted in a suit, but I have NEVER heard from anyone I've sent it to again, and that includes a particularly sleazy telecom company in North Atlanta who has a different weasel call you every week as well as a really irritating office products supplier in Norcross who used to call twice a day.  None of the companies has ever sent me a copy of their DNC policy and technically if I wanted to sue them, I could try it based on that, but I have the sneaking suspicion that after I drive over to the courthouse and pay $45 to file a small claim, the scum would just backdate a letter and mail it to the court saying that they had complied and I would be out the $45 and my time.  Still, the letter has been 100% effective in getting the calls to stop and that's really the goal if you want to spend your time working instead of shooing away these pesky flies.

----- LETTER TEMPLATE ----

Dear Accounts Payable,
Kindly deliver this to the appropriate manager.

The following is formally demanded:

(a)    that {your scumbag telemarketing company} (its affiliates, successors, and assigns) cease and desist from phoning the numbers listed herein for a minimum of 5 years, preferably permanently.
xxx-xxx-xxxx
yyy-yyy-yyyy
zzz-zzz-zzzz

(b)    that you provide a written copy of your do-not-call policy to the following address within 30 days of receipt of this letter.

123 my business address
City, State ZIP

(c)    that you provide written acknowledgement of this letter and your commitment to comply with these demands to the same address, also within 30 days of this letter.

Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (the TCPA), 47 U.S.C. sec. 227(b)(3), we are entitled to recover $500 statutory damages for each violation of the law, should the law not be upheld.  Failure to comply with these demands constitutes a knowing or willful violation of this federal law.  As such the court will be petitioned to treble those damages.

Your immediate cooperation is expected,

{ Signed and Dated }

Good luck!

9:28 a.m. 7/26/12 - This is call #2 in as many days since I called to have the a$$holes at C P S (Corporate Payroll Services) remove our numbers from their call list.  I have begun to simply answer, "No" when asked is so and so in and "No" when asked if I know when so and so will be in.

These idiots need to be stopped - it's ridiculous.  Corporate Payroll Services (CPS) is NOT a company for anyone to do business with.  They are especially not a company for which one should work.  They will take the phone numbers from an applicant's work history and add the numbers to their call list.  That's how they got our number.  Neil Dave (really?) is just there to say, "I'm sorry for any inconvenience, and we will remove your number from the list.  It will take a week to take effect."  I gave him all 5 of our numbers.  We shall see.  Next stop - BBB.

We never used to get calls from these piranhas until a former employee went to work for them.  I'll JUST ABOUT BET YOU they get their call list straight from the employment histories on every single job application they receive!  I mean think about it:  They (CorPay - CPS) advertises their job openings all over the place, right?  People are desperate for work & will do anything for a job (can't blame them).  People who apply have to fill out an application with employment history - THAT'S where the ("ain't got no) call list" comes from.  Makes sense to me.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that some kind of illegal, or at the very least, unethical?

Call from "Bill" at CPS.   When will these companies realize that folks are smart nowadays, and when they see the comments on here about how rude they are, nobody will do business with them.  We just ignored Bill.

I received a call from this number (determined by using *69 after the call) asking to speak with the doctor--this is a private practice.  When told that the doctor was with a patient, the caller would not disclose who they were with or what the call was about.  Very unprofessional.  Our business actually used CPS about 5 years ago and no one has a good opinion about that venture.  Quickbooks makes it so easy to do it in-house anyway!

Rec'd a call from this number from 'Amber' asking for the owner by name.  I asked who was calling and she said Amber.  Duh!  I asked from where, she said C P S instead of who they really are.  I told her I could not see if he was available until she told me who she was and what she was calling about.  She said, "I told you my name was Amber from C P S and I am calling about form something".........Woah...end of conversation.....you don't call in here and say "I told you".  Goodbye Amber!  'click'.  I called the number on our caller id, pressed "0" and asked to be put on their do not call list.
