This is a scam. I had a debit card  stolen and closed an account. No idea why former in laws are contacted.

Receiving calls from a man with PNL investigations or something. Mark is his name , telling me I committed check fraud and will have to go to court for such. Demanding money and making threats.

Another strange thing. My cellphone has Number GURU. Android app. If you hit to find out who this number goes to it comes back as US FOOD SERVICES.

I have received two calls from this B*****D in the past week. He said its for a payday loan that I had in 2008. Why would they come after me now. He said I committed check fraud and they are going to press charges. Funny thing is , the guy said last Friday was my final day to pay and I paid nothing ( and wont) and he called again today 6 days later. Sounds like he is full of it. I asked for proof of the debt and copy of " supposed" check. Still nothing in the mail. Hes a bully.

I received a call from Mark Towns with P&A Investigations at 770-458-6786.  I called the number and received a voice mail.  Approx. 15 mins later, Mark Towns returned the call.  My caller ID places the full name as Purdie & Associates in Georgia.  When I did a White Pages search, the location is in Atlanta GA (see below).  Both numbers are disconnected and this may not be the same company.  When he said he was looking for my brother, I told him to stop calling me. He said my brother gave me as a reference.  I know for a fact that my brother has not done this for over three years.  I asked for dept information and was told he couldn't give it to me.  He was kind enough to tell me that I might be held responsible for the debt.  This is bull*hit and I know it.  I told him that I keep track of every phone call and, if I receive more than one, I have my attorney husband file a lawsuit.  I also informed him that I will file harassment charges and help him remember by calling me he is engaging in interstate commerce and engaging in illegal interstate commerce such as harassment has a higher legal impact should this really go to court.  Generally, after asking the person their name, their supervisor's name, the company name and a number where I can return the call, AND I tell them that I will file suit, I do not receive another phone call.  In the beginning, I did receive more than one call from the company but I did research and phone harassment is illegal as is the person fraudulently telling me I might be liable for a debt that I did not and would never co-sign on.  

Do your research - many law firms exist just to suit the pants off harassing debt collectors especially when the debt is not your own.  As a closing note, I had Mark screaming at me that I have no rights just as I told him I was filing a police report (you must do it in his jurisdiction) for harassment and hung up.

I received a call at my military office phone from this guy.  He was very rude and demanded I provide him with my Sister's address and phone number.  I kept asking who he was and he kept saying Pand A or PNA investigations, he said something has come across his desk and he needed to track down my SIster.  We went back and forth and I finally said I don't know her don't call me again.

I got a rude call from a Mark Townsend demanding I let him know where my husband was and to let him speak with him or they will hunt him down.  I demanded to know what he was calling for and he got even ruder with me when I demanded him to stop harassing me or I was reporting him for false information of presenting himself as an investigator.

I too have gotten some calls from Mark Towns of P&A. I was dumb enough to call back. He would not let me talk or ask questions with out yelling. I asked him to send me verification on debt and he said he could not, all I can say is this is a scam no investigator with a law firm or police department is going to threaten you or yell at you. Second of all if it was really check fraud would they wait 4 years to come after you....really get a life Mr. Towns and leave mine alone....

They harrassed me at work, jeapordiding the fact that I may lose my onle means of paying my bills and putting food on the table. Do these people have a right to harrass people at work?  They should be condemned for getting their highs by doing this. I value my job, and feel totally disrespected when my V.I.P. `s forward these massages to me. It's totally embarrassing!!!

The caller spoke real fast, he said he was calling from a law firm in reference to an urgent matter that needed my  immedient response.

I call him. I am not involved in any investigation and will not call him back.

They just called me. I was wondering who they were and what they wanted, but i don't even write checks and that's the same person who called me.

Got an "extremely urgent" message today 3/23/12 from 770-458-6786 from a Mark Townes or Towns, looking for my former daughter-in-law (12 years former!)  In the message he said he was from " was from P&A, the Investigations Department."  Called him back and told him he should look her up on Facebook like I did.  Then he wanted her phone number blada blada.  When my wife got home from work she Googled the phone # and sure enough, here he is.

We also got a call from this person & number.   We will not call since he provided no information other than his name and company ("PNA"?), which we have never heard of.   All he said is that there was an "urgent situation."   If this was legit, he would have provided a more specific reason for calling.

For the last month I have received call from an Investigator Mark Towns.  However, He never leaves any information concerning his so called ergen message.  I am suspecting this is fraud, or some debt collector with the wrong information.  Everyone should be on the look out for this number 770-458-6786 and He goes by the name Mark Towns.

"Oh, yes, [my name], this is Mark Townsend.  I?m contacting you here from P and A, the investigations division.  Listen, I have a situation here that demands your immediate attention.  It is incumbent that you contact my direct officer immediately.  My number is 770-458-6786.  Again that number is 770-458-6786."

Per their web site, Purdie and Associates is a "bad check recovery service."
