I too have received calls from 770-508-7905 and from 678-910-1395, both claiming to be from  US Energy Independence.  I have received 7 calls in the last 5 weeks and have taken option 3 (which doesn't work) and have spoken to them 5 times asking to be removed from their calling list.  One girl, Katrina said she would but the next evening I was called by Nichole who hung up on me.  I have asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that he was in a meeting.  Ya, sure!  I asked for the address where they are located and was told that they are a national company and could not give out their address for security purposes.  When Nichole said she would remove my number from her call list I asked her what number she was going to remove and she had my phone number.  I will not let anyone from a company like this come to my home but thought of giving them a bogus address to waist their time.  But since they have my phone number they probably already have my address?  I have reported their numbers to the do not call line every time but am beginning to wonder if there is anyone working there.

No one answers or leaves a message.  If you call back it says the caller has a mailbox that has not been set up yet.

I just got a call from this number, claiming to be 'Senior Defense" and said they were recommended by the American Heart Association. Since I've been on the do not call list since it was first available, I put no faith what so ever in the 'dial 5 to be removed from our senior's list'. I reported them, of course, but that doesn't seem to do much good. Not a day goes by when I don't get a call from someone who wants my money.

It is also a shame that something can not be done about the Canadian pharmacy that sends three to four scams daily about Viagra and other sex related items with false headers.  They too are as unwanted as the robo calls from the other idiots.

Voice mail box has not been set up yet when I called back.  It was a recorded call in associated with the American Heart Association about a monitor in case of an emergency.  It actually was a damn scam call from an idiot who is in violation of many laws.  American Heart knows nothing of their association with this jerk.

Got calls from this number several time, no message left on the machine. I read all your comments and came to the conclusion that, in case I ever get someone on the line, who tells me he can ignore the Do-not-call entry for my phone number, will get the sound of my starter whistle in their ear, see how that will work for smart alecks!

Got a call from this number twice within two hours.  These damn jerks have machines set up so that unless you say "hello" it eventually hangs up.

If you say hello you get a robo voice telling you to call for some sort of mortgage or debt relief nonsense.

I am on the do not call registry but get these calls a couple times a week.

You can go to the do not call registry site and file a complaint (which I did and encourage all to do so too as otherwise they probably wont investigate unless a lot of people complain)

I pressed 1 and got a live answer. He said the name of the company was U.S. Energy Independence Group. I had him repeat the name to make sure I got it right. I am also on the Do Not Call list and will be reporting them.

To everyone one this chat board -
I am the Vice President for Winstar International LLC.  We are a promotional marketing company located in Waco, Tx.  If you look into this phone number, it is actually registered to Winstar of Georgia LLC...a communications company that does not have a website or any contact information that I can find.  I'm sorry everyone is having problems with them, but please note that we are not the same company.  Thanks

I am sick of receiving these calls two and three times a week on both of my lines.  When I answer I get this recorded message. Both of my numbers have been registered on the do not call list, but that does not seem to help anymore. I get numerous other calls and I am sick of it.

I got the same message and did report them on the do not call website. What they are offering to do..your electric company will do for free also, and there is no pressure to buy anything from them.

Got a call from this number, offering a free energy audit to take advantage of stimulus rebates for upgrading insulation/weatherproofing.  Pressed 1 to get their name but got elevator music so hung up.  North GA.

Yeah, you may be right.  In fact, I'm sure they monitor this website.  You make a good point in that it could very well be an identity theft ring.  However, they only got enough information to know where I am, physically.  Lots of people know where I am, physically.  Besides, I'm still waiting for a large enough prize amount from my Nigerian email friends to pull the trigger on that deal.  ;-)

I keep getting calls from this number. Just filed a complaint. It has a recording stating "Do you want to save on your energy bills, you can get reimbursed up to $3500 from the government . Press 3 to discontinue these calls and 1 to speak with a representative."  I have pressed 3 several times and continue to get the calls. Today I pressed 1 and waited, Robert came to the line and I ask that our number be removed from their list. "CLICK" is what I got. so I registered a complaint. These people should be fined the max and the company shutdown. This is really difficult since we have a person who works at night and sleeps in the day. Keep filing and maybe we can gets some results. Do not call website and select complaint.

Seriously?? Didn't your mama ever teach you not to talk to strangers? Never should you give these people personal information about where you live or anything like that. They aren't going to show up at your house, but they're sure going to use all the information they're collecting on you to try and scam and solicit you more! Guarantee no one shows up at your house at 10!

Joe, good luck if you try that.  I DID invite them to show up, and they were supposed to be here one hour ago, and didn't show.  Perhaps it was the way I agreed when I said, "Oh, sure.  Yeah.  Send somebody here so I can get to the bottom of this and get a company name!"

In any event, it is obviously a very poorly disguised selling scam, and there is no telling what trashy product they are trying to sell.  I'm suspicious that it may even be solar panels from Solyndra, because I wouldn't be surprised at anything that employs outrageously unsavory and unethical tactics being associated with the current administration.   Don't be surprised if you get similar calls to sell you a Chevy Volt.

I received several calls from this number, and every time (at least 3) I selected "3" to be removed from the "do not call" list.  It does not stop these scammers from calling.  So, yesterday, I decided to push "1" and TELL them to remove me, but my curiosity was up, so I asked the name of the person.  He gave me his first name.  I asked the name of the company, and he said they represented "U.S. Government Energy Conservation" or something very close to that.  I asked what I would find if I went to their website, and he indicated that they have no website (they don't), and that they are a public service entity funded by alternative energy providers.  When I asked what he wanted, he indicated that they were simply providing "free advice" as to how to save money on your electricity bills.  He swore they weren't selling anything, but he promised at the end of the free advice appraisal, I would be told if I'm eligible for "free stimulus money."  Interestingly, they needed to know if I had "good or excellent credit" in order to give me some free stuff.

This stinks to high heaven, but I decided to let them come over this morning at 10 a.m.  It won't last long.  I figure if they can waste so much of my time, then they owe me a free "trip" to my home so I can tell them to their FACE to leave me alone.

I've punched #1 twice and talked to Robert who tells me that he is not covered under the do-not-call law.  I asked him to remove me from his list and he said he doesn't have to.  Next time I will put him on hold indefinately.  In the meantime, I report him every time to WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV   With each call I am told it is for a "free energy audit".

The pitch is that the stimulus bill has allocated up to $3500 for energy saving and they have been paid to contact people to do an energy survey of your house to provide energy saving ideas to reduce utilit bills by 10-25 %. I said I am on the do not call list but he said since they aren't selling anything it does not apply. Since the pitch says "we have been contracted to ...", I asked who paid you to do this he just answered and said 15-20 "Alternative Energy" companies but would not provide any specific names. This is the third or fourth time I have received similar calls in the last 6 months so they obviously pay no attentioon to requests to be removed from their list. They said it's a 15-20 minute survey to provide suggestions to save money, I asked for an example of a typical "Suggestion" and all he would say is he was the scheduler and couldn't do that. I told them to take me off their list.
I am tempted to set up an appointment just to see what happens and see how long it is before someone tries to actually sell something at which time I would take great pleasure in throwing them out of my house , but I really don't want to waste the time

I received the scamster's call 2/7/12.  We must be in the same area.  Call 1-888-382-1222 and file a complaint.  Fines for Robo calls of this type are punishable for up to $16,ooo. per call.  Good luck.

This number is indicated as being registered to Winstar.  I looked them up and the are a marketing firm.  Here is their website.  http://www.winstarllc.com/index-5.html

I would encourage all here to file a complaint with donotcall.gov and include a link to their website to assist the do nothings at the registry in enforcing the law.

You can file a complaint at donotcall.gov.  Not that it will do any good. The registry was a feel good move by Congress and the telemarketers have come to realize there is no teeth to the rules and have stopped checking - or at least that's how it seems from here.

It's a robo caller, and it's listening for you to speak first.  If you say hello, it'll start the spiel for whatever scam they're running.  If you press "1", it'll then try to hook you to an attendant, but if one isn't available, it'll just dump the call.
