got the same phone call on 11/4/11...thought it was a scam !!!

Incomming call from 7706424010, hung up when I answered.

um i think i messed up im 18 it sounded to good to be true but i gave them my information am i f@#$ed?

Received a call told me I'd been selected to win $1000 online shopping spree, I asked them how I won it.  They replied that Visa, Mastercard and American Express select 25,000 of their preferred customers to get this spree every year.  

He asked my age, so I hung up.

Alright i got a call from the same people and for sure fell for it... they were a bit more convincing actually telling me what kind of card i had (capital one)... now i am in this thing... they say they are going to send me magazines and the $1000 shopping spree within the next 2-5 days... i just need some help to get my naive self out of this mess thanks again for any help

I aalso recieved a phone call from them but the caller ID showed "0" so maybe they are getting a bit smarter. I got a similar call when I waas 16 and opened my first bank account, and sensed the scam then....when I got the second call 6 years later I told them I wasn't going for the scam and she hung up on me.

I kept getting this call on my phone with a area code that was unfamiliar. I didn't answer the phone call and instead googled it. I knew it had to be a scam.... Thanks for tips.

Hi I am so lucky to have came across your message. I am so sick of SCAMMERS trying to get money from illegal crap. Anyway this COMPANY called me this morning and my encounter was so identical to yours I just knew it was in fact a scam and I really believe it is from the same People. Thank you again for placing your story.

I just recieved a call from this SO CALLED company. Not even 10 minutes ago. I instantly knew it was a scam- As I have worked as a "tele sales" person before so I actually look for tell tell questions that lead to answers that you would not "kmowingly give" So any how this woman began telling me that I had just won 1000 dollar shopping spree online then congradulates me right after that she asks "So who serves your needs best Mastercard or Visa??" I say Visa- she says great are you currently employed as part time or full time? Then she tells me about these magazines that I also get way below the actual price just for being an Visa cardholder. Anyway to make this even more interesting SHE TELLS ME MY ADDRESS with the ZIP CODE, then tells me that her supervisor will make sure she hasn't made any mistakes. So another woman gets on the line and instantly starts to speak of this "ORDER" I am placing I tell her I had no idea I was placing an order- she then sensed I was not going for the SCAM they were trying to pull, and assured me I would not be charged for anything right then but that all charges would only be for shipping and hanlding when the magazines go out. Then she has me verify my EXPERATION DATE on my Visa- I instantly told her I would not give my card number out over the phone and she again sensed I was on to her so she said No I dont need the number just the Exp. Date So after I gave her that she turned around and asked "So is the first number on your Visa still 4??" I replied All Visa Cards start out with a 4- Again sensing I was'nt going for whatever crap she was trying to pull, she then said Ma'am "I AlREADY HAVE IT, I JUST NEED YOU TO VERIFY" Now can you read me the rest of the numbers starting from the 4 going from left to right- I replied TELL ME THE LAST FOUR NUMBERS ON MY CARD.....she then said I don't have them.... I said OH I THOUGHT YOU ALREADY DID?? (like she told me she did) she then said the numbers are in the system so once YOU GIVE THEM TO ME THE SYSTEM WILL TELL ME IF THE CARD IS ACTIVE NON ACTIVE STOLEN OR DECLINED- I said NO THANK YOU- the lady now very irratated that her SCAM did not work had the nerve to say to me NEXT TIME LISTEN THAT WAY YOU DON'T WASTE ALL OF OUR TIME. And before I could say anything else she HUNG UP. So PLEASE BE AWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS!!!!!! NO doubt THIS IS A REAL SCAM- The Number that called me was actually (770) 642-4012 BUT AFTER READING THE STORY ABOVE I KNOW THEY ARE THE SAME PEOPLE.

I received a call from this number.They said I had selected to receive a 1000 shopping spree. They said they had found out about me through my visa card.They were doing a promotion for magazines and told me I all I had to do was purchase 24 months worth of magazines for a low rate depending on whether I was part time, full time, etc. I spoke with a young lady named Joyce and her supervisor Jessica. They said they would send me the gift certificate with a tracking number and a password so I can get online and SHOP! She asked for my visa card number but I did not have it handy so she asked me if I had another card. I told her I had a capital one mastercard and she asked for that card number but I told her  the card was not active. This was Jessica the supervisor I was talking with. She said she needed a card that was active. I told her I didnt have one. She said she would call me in the morning and get the card number so she could send me my certificate with the password to get on the web and shop.I would receive the gift certificate in 4 or 5 days and there would be a form attached that I would have to fill out and send back to  confirm that I got the certificate and no one else did.
