These jerks call every other day. To save $3,800 as an energy credit, you need to invest about $13,000.00 in solar or others approved by IRS. If you get a 30% refund from Uncle Sam, the other 70% comes out of your pocket. They get around the no call list by saying they only want to do a survey.
I remember one time, a call from another company wanted to do a survey and I said okay. They asked old I was and when I told them, they said I was too old to participate in the survey and slammed the phone up. I got a big laugh

For your reference, here's the list of phone numbers I've compiled, both from phone calls I've received myself as well as posts for those same numbers here at 800notes.com.  The more information we can distribute to others receiving these annoying and illegal calls, the better!

Man said he was from Electirc Power Association. My electric company warned that it was a scam. I told him that and he was very insistant that it was'nt. However, I rather error on the side of caution. I told him I was not interested.

The person with whom I spoke ( i should say persons!!!!)  said they represented Alternative Energy Company.  Looked them up - they sell alternative energy products.  The mention "energy audit" on their site as well as the federal tax credit.

I got a call about a week ago from US Energy Concepts, 912-227-6812, who had the same story as above. When they couldn't give me a website, I told them I had no way to verify they were not a scam, and asked to speak to a supervisor. The second person basically repeated the same thing, and then asked about my credit rating. I allowed them to make an appointment because I wanted to get a tag number and possibly have the police present, and asked for a callback number in case I couldn't make the appointment. (The above number didn't answer). They gave me some excuse, seems like it was  something about being a non-profit and not having operators to take incoming calls.  Anyway I was later getting home and missed them.  I called the Brunswick Ga WGIG morning call-in talk radio show, and someone had reported the company basically gives you a list of contractors (that apparently might be able to help you save energy). It still sounds like a scam, and I certainly would not let them inside my home, in case they are casing your home for a later return.  Hope this helps.

Received a call form the 770 656 number earlier this week. Claimed to be Electric Power Association. Very persuasive, said all the right things: free public service, that they do not sell any products or services, that it was an educational program to teach homeowner's how to lower their monthly bills. Red flags: they did not give company name up front; my husband and I had to be present for the audit (so I cannot say, I have to ask my husband- high pressure sales technique also used by a local GA company called Taylor Construction that harassed us); desperate to make appointment; claimed no call back number because millions of households needed their services and since they were free they were limited on number of incoming phone lines; they wanted to know about our credit!!: I did not have my computer with me to look up the company name so I agreed to appt. Looked them up later and nothing on the web came up except for in blogs about harassing phone calls. After realizing I was so stupid, I waited for them to call back today. This time it was from the 912 number I'd read about. We have blocked their number. Here is my question: what is their scam? Everyone reports the same things about the phone calls- but are they so fishy that no one allows them out to their house? Or... what happens if they get there? Anyone know? Hope recent poster planning to allow them over reports back...

Called the police, they said it was a scam.  Don't ever invite anyone out to your home you are unsure of.

They may also use the name "Electric Power Association" based on a call I got this morning from 770-656-3089.  This makes my sixth phone call from this "business".

Best of luck Dottie, stay safe.  I'd be willing to join your suit if you want to try class action!  They should not get away with harassing people this way.

I have been called so many times by this company!  They say they have no contact phone number if you wish to call them back, no web site, and pretty much the same as all other comments above.  I finally asked how I could get them to stop calling and the girl said..make an appointment.  So, I have made an appointment for this Friday.  My husband will be here and we are planning a nice surprise for this company!  We plan to obtain as much info from the "technician" as possible and then we are probably going to sue for the harrassment.  I will post the results after the appointment on Friday!  Should be interesting!

I just got the 3rd or 4th call from US Energy Concepts although I have hung up each time they have called.  The caller id number listed was 653-7247.  I asked for a website and was told they don't have a website as they are non-profit.  These people are relentless.  Do not agree to let them into your home.

Thanks very much. I just completed the forms. These folks are very persistent and seem driven to make an appointment to get into my home. This is really bothering me. Any idea as to how or where they are deriving the names for their call list? I have informed the local police and apparently I am not the first to call about them.

If you live in Georgia, try visiting: http://www.georgia.gov/00/article/0,2086,87670814_88011435_88025139,00.html

It's a page at the Georgia Attorney General's website that gives instructions for reporting telemarketing calls in violation of the National and Georgia Do Not Call lists.  It gives links to report them to the FCC (which I have now done) as well as to the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs.

Best of luck to everyone!

Not only have we gotten further calls from this number since I first reported above, but also from 912-227-6812 today.  Have asked repeated times to be removed and they have not.  We have been on the national do not call list for years.  They have a spiel about the energy audit and the $3800 in government money which Ron mentions, but I suspect a scam as well,  I've googled "US Energy Concepts" as well as looking them up at the BBB, but find no such company.  I will have nothing to do with them and suggest everyone reading this do the same.  Not sure how we can force them to stop calling.  Class action suit for harassment perhaps?  Any ideas?

My wife and I have received at least a dozen phone calls from U.S. Energy Concepts in the past month.  The caller says that we may qualify for up to $3,800 in rebates for our energy costs.  They will not leave a message on the answering machine.  We have told them several times that we are on the Do Not Call list and that we do not want to be called back.  But they continue to call.  When I searched the internet for the company I could not find anything.  This sounds like a scam.  We have never even allowed them to get into their sales pitch.

I have also received 3 calls from someone calling themselves the US Energy Concepts and giving the same spiel that Ron (above) spoke about. Today was the 4th call - only they were calling from 912-227-6812. When I interrupted to say that I had asked to be taken off their calling list *yesterday*, the gal sounded rather incredulous and repeated the name of the company. I replied, "Yes, the same company" and she rudely hung up on me. Obviously I have not had my # taken off their list.

I have read the above messages and my situation is the same.  I have not found any website either.  I do not know what this scam is and am concerned that I keep getting this call.  They say it is a federal program which pays up to $3800 to make your home more energy efficient.  Calling the phone company about the phone number does not help.  I think my next call is to the police department.

I do not know the phone number, but we got several calls this week from someone wanting to do an energy audit on our home.  The first person identified the organization as American Energy Concepts, but the person who called back said it was U.S. Energy Concepts.  She said they were funded by alternative energy sources, that they were selling nothing and just wanted to show us ways to save money on our energy bills.  I am skeptical.  She said they had no web site.  I finally told her to please, please not send anyone to our home.  It could be a legitimate outfit, but not being able to find anything about this, I want nothing to do with it.  This web site was the only reference I could find to U.S. Energy Concepts on Google.

US Energy Concepts is who they claim to be, I have not yet verified this.  I got THREE calls this week, told them I wasn't interested each time.  Told them the third time to quit calling me and take me off their list.  Girl told me if I quit being rude (by interrupting her script and complaining this was the third call this week) she would take me off the list. Charming customer service.  Got the number with *69.  My next visit is to the BBB to report them.
