Called and said they were getting some complaints about the delivery of magazines in my area.  Wanted to know how mine were getting delivered.  Told the lady that I do not get any magazines.  She said she wondered why they had my name on their list.  She gave me my address and said are you sure.  I told her that I have not gotten any magazines for years.  Said she would take my name off of her list.

I have received a call from this number a number of times over the past few weeks but did not answer I did not recognize the number and they would never leave a message. Today I decided to answer it and lke the other posts I've seen they asked if I was getting my magazines ok. I told the young lady I had not ordered any magazines but was getting a couple that I had not ordered. She asked me a few questions - survey as to age, zip code, etc which I unfortunately did answer. She then passed me on to a "supervisor" to verify her phone courtesy.
I asked this person what magazines were being sent - Maximum, ESPN and a few others. I again said that I did not order them and to cancel the subscriptions. She said it was too late to be cancelled but would give a large discount to get out of the subscriptions - in other words one time payment. When i questioned as to what CC it was, she said AmEx, giving me the first 4 digits and the last 3 digits which is scarry. I told her that I would call AM and dispute the charges. She then politely ended the conversation. Needless to say I will call AMEX and file a complaint as well as dispute.

I received a call from this number today, and had to listen to people  telling me the same exact things as I've read in all posted notes: that I'm their customer and if I wanted to cancel I have to speak with the supervisor. When I attempted to explain to that "supervisor" that I hadn't ever ordered any magazines from them she even told me that I was rude on the phone. Can you imagine? She gave me the same 1-888 number to cal their "customer service" for any questions, and when I called afterwards the answering service said that wasn't the real number. I then attempted to cal back 1-770 number just to see where the initial call was coming from, and certailnly no one picked up. I knew immediately it was a scam. The scary thing to me is that they called my cell number. Just be aware of 1-770 number and don't pick up.

I talked to then a few min ago, they asked a few questions to confirm it was me and I lied about my age and income and it some how matched the information they have. I just told her that I don't have a mastercard which I don't and she said she would cancel and she hung up on me.

I recieved a phone call from this phone when i was about to start my day at work.  She said that people in my are where complaining about there magazines arriving damage or broken?!  And she wanted to know if i was having problems with mines.. I told her that i dont recieved any magazines.  She insisted that if mine where arriving fine,  I started getting kind of suspisios about it because i know i dont get magazines over the mail and also she knew my first and last name and also my address...which is not my address now...but i do use to receive magazines at that old address!  She kept on saying that i do a magazine that "suposlly"  was about to be renew for another year which is was $79 for the year suscription.  Which it make me even more suspicios!  I told her again an at this point im a little upset, I dont have any magazines.  She told me that I needed to talk to her supervisor to verify or fix this matter ,Because if i dont..they are still going to charge me for the magazine suscription.  I told her: Lady i dont have time for this right know, im going to work and anyways i dont have any magazines suscriptions.  She ask me when was i good time to call me back, i told her in the afternoon.  But she hasnt call yet.  This call was like 2 days ago.  Im glad i check this out on the net.  Now i know not to answer to does scammers!!!

I get calls from "unknown" callers frequently, usually just let them go to the machine, they never leave a message.  Yesterday I had had several from different numbers during my working hours, (I work at home), when I got off work, they were still calling so I answered and caller started a spiel about my magazines, was I receiving them on time, etc., etc.  Stated she was new and wanted me to speak with her supervisor to confirm that she was courteous to me.  The supervisor started asking about the subscriptions, (she named several magazines she said I was getting, which I am not) if I wanted to renew them, they were on automatic renewal, I told her no.  She wanted me to listen to a recording, and to answer "no" when asked about renewal at the end of it.  I told her no.  She said several things that made me suspicious, first about 5 magazines, then about a $49-plus monthly charge on my bank card.  I told her I wasn't paying that amount, I keep very close tabs on my bank account and she was mistaken.  I asked her for the last four digits of the card number, she said she could "confirm the first 6 digits", and gave them to me.  It was my old bank card which had been canceled, and I told her as much.  She said they have access to the account, she was looking at it, and it was an open account with money available.  I told her there was no way - she said she wasn't going to argue with me - this went on for a few minutes, because she had surprised me and I wanted to find out some information.  But I finally hung up on her after she gave me a phone number to call if I had problems or complaints, it was 888-299-8272.  I had intended to call but after I checked my bank account back for over a year, and found no such charges, there was one for $29.90 to a magazine processing center on my old card, but nothing else of that kind.  This sort of thing should be outlawed, they totally lied during the whole conversation, and I figured if they get you to listen to a recording, and tell you to answer "no", they've got you on record and there's no telling what you said "no" to!  I will be watching my bank account, but I think she is full of bull.

I have received a number of calls from 770-775-5748 but have not been answering them and they were not leaving a message. Today I decided to answer, unfortunately. The young lady asked if I was getting my magazine subscriptions. I said I am receiving a number of magazines that I have not ordered and did not know why I was getting them. She said it was evidently thru some survey or promotion that I had answered.
I told her to cancel them and she said she would pass me to a supervisor who would have to  do it. The supervisor said I could not cancel them but would offerer a large discount - one time payment to get out of the subscriptions. I asked as to which CC card this was going to be billed to. She then proceeded to tell me may AmEx, gave me the first 4 digits and the last three. That is scarry.

I told her that I would call AmEx imediately after our converstion and dispute the charge. She then  politely ended the conversation and hung up. I will now call AmEx.

My advice - don't anwer numbers you do not recognize or have a company name attached

I got a phone call from another number about two months ago.  I was driving home from work and I couldn't hear everything that they were saying.  But I did catch the part about free gas vouchers and a free 30 day trial for a number of things including, vacation discounts and smart shopper.  I said, "No thanks, I'll forget to cancel them and then I'll be stuck."  The person on the phone said, "It's free for 30 days and then it is an easy cancellation process.  You should do it just to recieve the free gas vouchers, it's worth it."  I said OK against my better judgement.  So I received the gas vouchers first, and they were definitely not worth it.  I could only use $20 a week, then I had to save the receipt and send it to the company in a stamped envelope.  Then I would receive a check in the mail later, but I had to keep subscribing to the service in order to use the vouchers.  So it is definitely a rip off.  Now I am paying $30 for the vacation discounts, $30 for the smart shopper, &7 for US Weekly magazines.  I just received a call from the 770-755-5748 number and they asked if I was recieving the magazines on time.  I said yes, but I would like to cancel.  The lady said sorry but you have a 30 month subscribtion left.  I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said the same thing and was very rude.  Does anyone have any idea what I can do about this?  I tried to look up the numbers to the companies that are on my bank statements, but no luck. Oh yeah, I am on the no call list now and they are still calling.

I just received the same call.  They knew my name and address and were following up on my 5 magazines.  I told them I never ordered them and to cancel them immediately.  She said she needed to verify my information then she would transfer me to a supervisor who would cancel the order. She then proceeded to ask me personal survey type questions, told her she didn't need to know any of that to cancel, she hung up on me.  WOW!
