Received a recorded message similar to SLAM on Oct 18 in Central Ma.  Asked me to press 1 to re-activate my account.  Couldn't understand the name of the bank, but it didn't sound close to the name of any banks I use.

I live in Valparaiso,Indiana. Got a call from 770-755-7575. Clearly a scam considering I don't have an account with a credit union. I am glad I have caller ID  & also my answering machine picked it up while I was at work.

Received call from this number...looked up the bank that supposedly called me and this was on their website....

A few credit union members have reported "vishing" attempts under the guise of Susquehanna Valley FCU.

Please note: Susquehanna Valley FCU will never contact you by phone or email to request personal or account information, such as credit card number(s), social security number(s), account number(s), etc.

Vishing mimics phishing by trying to trap you into divulging your account numbers. But instead of being "phished" in an e-mail message, you may receive a telephone call and be "vished" from an automated voice mail message.

This latest vishing attempt occurred when individuals received a phone call with a recorded message that states their credit card number has been suspended and they are directed to press 1 to talk to security. A message tells you to enter your 16-digit credit card number. If you enter those digits, you’ll find yourself a victim of credit card theft. This is an attempt to steal your credit card information…if you get a call like this, hang up immediately!

Just received a call from this number at 10:35pm. Never heard of the bank either. Glad this site exists to identify scammers such as these. I wish more could be done about them.

I just got a call from this number at 11 pm.  The recorded message told me that my ATM card was compromised and they wanted me to press 1 to talk to someone in their security department.  Glad I didn't do it.  Really sounded suspicious.  Can anybody find out who they are and do something about it?
