Called and said he's a lawyer and said I owed a bill.  Demanded money.  Asked for a copy of the proof and he got mad and hung up.

Today this company called my friend and left me a message. She came to my desk and let me listen to it. We were both pissed cuz I have NO legal matters and I don't owe any body. So we googled it and came across this site. That company is fraudulent. But they picked the right chicks. I plan on calling them back. And when I'm through, I can gurantee they won't call ME or her back. I have a panel of lawyers at my disposable and I intend to put them to good use. They said they were calling from some company callewd AIG.

My brother who lives in another city received a call about me concerning some kind of filing with the magistrate claim court. I have no idea who these people are and how or why they called my brother.

HI MICHELLE....GOOD FOR YOU FOR DOING RESEARCH.  ITS FUNNY HOW ALL THE THINGS SAID ABOUT BERSTEIN IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THORSTENBERG......THEN SUDDENLY IT CHANGES AND THINGS SEEM LIKE BERNSTEIN IS SUDDENLY SO GREAT.  READ THE REVIEWS.  I PUT IN THE NUMBERS THAT HAVE CALLED ME, CLAIMING ONE THING OR ANOTHER, AND THE NUMBERS REFERENCE BACK TO BOTH COMPANIES.  LIKE I SAID...FRAUD!  SCAM!  IF YOU FEEL THEY'RE NOT, THEN YOU MAY BE ONE OF THE ONLY ONES!!!  NEVER GIVE BANK ACCOUNT INFO....ASK FOR SOMETHING IN WRITING....ASK FOR ALTERNATE WAYS OF PAYING, OTHER THAN OVER THE PHONE.  ONCE YOU ASK SOMEONE FROM BOTH COMPANIES ANY OF THESE THINGS, THEY SAY THAT THERES NO OTHER WAY FOR YOU TO PAY......THEY NEVER SEND ANYTHING IN WRITING...........SO YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ARE PEOPLE TO BELIEVE?!??!  AND THE THREATS THEY SAY OVER THE PHONE ARE ILLEGAL!!!  LITTLE DID I KNOW THEN......SO HERE I AM, PUTTING THINGS OUT THERE SO PEOPLE ARE INFORMED OF THINGS I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN, JUST BY DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH OF MY OWN!!! THORSTENBERG, SHAPIRO AND ASSOCIATES AND BERNSTEIN SHAPIRO AND ASSOCIATES ARE TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES. I'VE DONE RESEARCH AND THEY ARE FILED UNDER 2 DIFFERENT ENTITIES WITH THE GEORGIA SECRETARY OF STATE. SO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHICH COMPANY YOUR REFERRING TO WHEN LEAVING A VERY AGGRESSIVE COMMENT, YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO SLANDER THE COMPANY THAT IS ABING BY ALL THE RULES.

DON'T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS SO-CALLED COLLECTION AGENCY.  THEY ARE A FRAUD!!!  I THOUGHT THEY WERE LEGIT BECAUSE THEY HAD ALL MY MOMS INFO (SINCE SHE WAS LISTED AS POINT OF CONTACT) AND ALL MY INFO & THE AMOUNT I OWED TO THE COMPANY THEY CLAIMED TO REPRESENT.  THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE GOING TO FILE A LITIGATION CLAIM AGAINST ME IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON AND THAT THERE WOULD BE A WARRANT OUT FOR MY ARREST.  THE WAY THIS PERSON WAS TALKING WAS SO CONVINCING........AND I SURE DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO JAIL.  PLUS I DID OWE MONEY TO WHO THEY "CLAIMED" TO REPRESENT.  SO I MADE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS.......TO BE TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT IN TWO PAYMENTS AND THEN IT WOULD BE PAID IN FULL....SO I THOUGHT I HAD NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.  THE LAST PAYMENT WAS TAKEN OUT IN JUNE.  WELL..........I HAPPENED TO BE CHECKING HOW MUCH MONEY I HAD IN MY BANK ON THE 28TH OF DECEMBER AND WAS SHOCKED TO FIND ANOTHER $252.OO TAKEN OUT OF MY ACCOUNT.  THE AMOUNT THAT I OWED WAS ONLY $470.00.  SO, NOT ONLY DID I GET SCAMMED FOR THIS $252.00, BUT FOR THE OTHER AMOUNTS THAT I PAID AS WELL, WHICH NEVER WENT TO MY DEBT THAT I OWED............A TOTAL OF $756.00 GONE!  THEY'VE CHANGED THEIR NUMBER NUMEROUS TIMES....THEY'VE ALSO BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH OR AS BERNSTEIN SHAPIRO & ASSOCIATES.  PLEASE DON'T EVER GIVE ANY BANK INFO OVER THE PHONE UNLESS YOU KNOW THEY ARE REALLY WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE.......DO YOUR RESEARCH...........AND ALWAYS ASK FOR SOMETHING IN WRITING AND PROOF OF ANY DEBT YOU MAY OWE.  THIS COMPANY WON'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING IN WRITING...NOR WILL THEY ALLOW YOU TO MAKE PAYMENTS IN ANY OTHER FORM THAN WITH A DEBIT CARD.  DONT' BE STUPID LIKE I WAS!!!!!!!!!!

This number called a friend of mine's house phone and left a message there for me. Im not sure how they got her number and I have no idea what this is for. I did call the number back but no one answered so I left a message. Not really sure what this all about, but Im very leary about it.

KEEPS CALLING MY NUMBER CALL SAYING THEY ARE GOIN TO MAGSTRAIG FOR THE FRAUD CLAIM I FILED

Received call from 770-788-8393 which is a collection service for online no fax payday loans services. I was advised that the only way I could settle my debt is by giving them my checking info if I have one or by purchasing a prepaid visa/debit card. I advised caller that I will send in payment if they provide me an actual address (because I did take out the payday loan which everyone on here did and I defaulted on it) I would send the payment in by monthly installments until paid in full. Caller advised me this wasn't possible and I advised her to kiss my (well you fill in the blank). There is nothing any court can do because most of these loans are from Deleware and other states which have no jurisdiction here in Texas.

They tell you they are a law office but they really are collectors who have brought old debt files. You need to report them to the BBB.

I received a call from Angelina stating she was from the office of Shapio and Associates. That she received a file today regarding a 11/14/05 deposit in an old bank account for a nofax/payday loan for $810.00. I could settle for $567.00 if I paid today and could put on my current debit or credit card and hold for 24 hrs. The thing is I do not have either and now they will not hold, I have till 5:00 today. Why would they barely inform me of this matter? I do not remember this trasaction and its been so long that I am not sure if this is real! I have been a victim of fraud and I am very leary of giving my information and I don't know these people. This is the first time I have heard of them! OH and she said her call back # was 678-691-3769 different from caller ID!

I have been getting calls at work from a Ms. Harris stating there is a legal matter pending against me and I will have to appear in "Magistrate" court.  I don't have any legal matters pending.  She has left several return numbers, one of which is 770-788-8393.  I have not returned her calls, nor do I intend to, but his is very annoying at my place of business.

Called me today at work, left a voicemail on the mainline phone voicemail, whcih was all automoated to begin with.  Stating that it was a legal matter and that if I did not contact them I would be put through to the Magistrate court, not sure what this bill is for or who they are, they did not mention the compnay name in the voicemail.  Is this scam?

I've received a call from this number that I have a judgement against me and may need to meet with the courts.  I don't own anything, so I believe this is a scam

They actually called me from 678-691-3769. I didn't recognize the number, so I didn't answer. They left me a voice mail saying that it was an attempt to collect a debt and that it was going to a magistrate court. I have no idea who they are or what it's for. She left me a message to call 770-788-8393. I don't have an outstanding debt; they can take a flying leap.
