Fitzgerald Law Firm (in GA), calling about 22 year old student loan debt that's been PAID. The woman demanded immediate partial payment right then over the phone and  said that they only accept a credit card # or check by phone payments (seems suspicious right?). Luckily i did not give her any financial info!
THIS SEEMS LIKE A SCAM TO GET PEOPLE'S FINANCIAL INFO so they can empty bank accounts and make credit card charges etc. I've googled this number and seen posts (on other websites) from other people who have been called by Fitzgerald about very old student loans and very old debts that were already paid OR that Fitgerlad is not authorized to collect on....
Their call back #  is 877-475-7616 and Fitzgerald Law Firm is also known as Endeavor Financial Partners owned by the same owner Donald Fitzgerald .

My recommendation is to log all calls and the jist of the conversations, which are usually one sided unless they think you're giving them information they can use against you. Every time these people call about a debt that isn't owed, they are breaking the law  The way they handle the calls is outright bullying.

I'm seriously considering a class action suit against them just to put them out of business, have Donald Fitzgerald disbarred, and send a message to other collection agencies that don't think they have to follow the laws.

I started getting calls several months ago about a student loan that was taken care of 19 years ago.

Miss Bigsby, breaks a law every time she calls to harass me. The woman, no lady by any means, called four times in one night and within a two minute span of time. Each time I picked up the phone she proceeded to yell at me, so each time I hung up on her. She was actually getting pleasure from what she was doing. What a mess, let me clarify, I'm referring to the woman.

My advice is to log all calls that come in from 1-770-882-0004 or from anyone claiming to be from the Law Office of Donald Fitzgerald. If you are called at work tell them not to call you at work, if they still do, make sure it is logged because after the initial "do not call me at work" that you give them, they are breaking the law.

I'm glad I found this website because I am going to start I am going to hit these a__holes with anything and everything that I possibly can.

I have reported these people to the AG and FTC.  They are calling me on a student loan from 1992 that has been paid off in full. They DEMAND I prove it to them but I don't owe them any proof. If they make a false claim to ANY of the collection agencies, I will see them in court.  You can dispute frivoulous attempts to damage your credit by sending the credit bearues proof of payment. I will send this company nothing but a letter from my lawyer and I suggest you all do the same. You really need to file a complaint with the FTC and AG offices.

This number and lady calls my house several times a week looking for someone that I don't even know.  I've called the company several times and made them aware that she is calling the wrong number to find this person that she is looking for, and everytime she reassures me that she will delete my number from her call list and a few days later, it never fails, the same number and same lady is calling me again.

I don't believe there is an actual post from Fitzgerald Law Firm employee. They are a bogus organization. How can you send a certified letter to an address they are not willing to provide. So here is the story. I keep getting a call on my cell phone from this "Fitzgerald Law Firm" asking to speak to Kellie Cullen. I keep telling them there is no Kellie Cullen here and they are calling a cell phone that I got this past Christmas. Of course, they do not believe me and insist on speaking with this Kellie Cullen. So, since we can't get anywhere, they tell me they are going to send the Sheriff to my house and serve me. Fifteen phone calls later, I am still waiting for the Sheriff. I have asked the caller for their address, no luck. They are just wasting their time and using my cell minutes. Idiots.

Hi Everyone
I have successfully resolved my problems with Fitzgerald Law firm. Here's what to do. Send a certified letter to Fitzgerald Law Firm requesting that they validate the loan. This means they need to send you the name of the original lender, proof that the loan has not already been paid AND proof that they have the right to collect it. You MUST be provided this information by them if you request it in writing.
I had requested it on the phone for 2 months and got nothing. They kept telling me they were going to get it to me. Then I was told there was no way they were going to give me that info and that I'd just better prove to them that my loan was paid.
Once they got my letter, within 2 business days they called to tell me that they didn't have any paperwork and that the matter was closed. I requested a letter stating that the matter was closed and am still chasing that, but haven't heard from them since. That was a over month ago.
As for the very happy Fitzgerald Law Firm employee, your office could NOT validate my loan and I have documentation that my loans were paid off years ago. It may be a great place to work, but when I am treated unprofessionally, lied to, threatened, and called at dinner time and bullied until I am in tears in front of my four kids I don't think anyone I dealt with at Fitzgerald Law Firm has anything to be proud of.

All Debts can be validated with documentation which we have readily available and the account history. There is no statue of limitation for a student loan. I am offended by the things I have read here. This is a great place to work and we are doing a service by helping people resolve these outstanding issues. It is not fair that people just write such ridiculous things about such a great organization.

In re: Post dtd Feb 25. Why do you think this is a scam? They are just another sorry-assed bill collector. Problem is, student loans have no statute of limitations, and unless there is some kind of hardship involved, these loans cannot be discharged in bankruptcy. And yes, your wages can be garnisheed, even if your particular state doesn't allow it for other debts. Texas, for example doesn't allow garnishment except for IRS and student loans. Collection laws for student loans have real teeth, but I don't know why they haven't come at me real hard, since I owe in excess of $14k, and if I wanted, could pay it in a lump sum.

Correction 22 on Jan 2008 post above:
The above post was worded incorrectly. It was not meant to say that this firm is trying to get people's financial info to empty bank accounts or make credit card charges etc. Maybe they made a mistake..In general, it's just not wise to give out any financial info over the phone.

This company tries to collect old student loan debts that they have paid pennies on the dollar to possess.  The issuing banks consider these matters closed once they are forfeited and bought by these zombie debt collectors.  After seven years, THESE DEBTS NO LONGER APPEAR ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT.  By law, they CANNOT legally collect one penny.  If you acknowledge the debt in any way, they can place the account back on your credit reports and destroy your credit.  If they call, hang up.  If they send a letter, follow the steps outlined in this article: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Savingan ... HardToKill.aspx

Check the state in which the debt originated as well as the state in which you live.  These loans are TIME-BARRED (meaning they cannot collect any money if you don't acknowledge the debt).  They may keep sending you letters, but if ask them to stop, you can file a complaint with your state's attorney general as well as Georgia's (where this "company" exists).  They'll attempt to "settle" because they know they cannot collect the money any other way.  They CANNOT garnish your wages; they CANNOT serve you; they CANNOT have you arrested; they CANNOT place a lien on any of your property.  They are liars, manipulators, scam artists and thieves, but you have protection rights under the law.  Remember: NEVER speak to anyone about your financial information over the phone, ever.

Debt Collector
Have been harrassed by Fitzgerald Law Firm (aka Endeavor Financial Partners) all year. They are a DEBT COLLECTION agency -- they buy old debt for pennies and then falsely charge you an even larger amount than what you actually owe. DO NOT pay these people anything. They do NOT have license or bonds to do anything with your debt. You need to write them a letter telling them to CEASE ALL COMMUNICATION with you. You have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). In section 805c of FDCPA, it says they cannot continue to contact you after you request in writing that they do not. IF they continue to harrass you, then they are in FEDERAL violation. REPORT THEM: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ or 877-382-4357. Remember - do NOT give out credit card numbers or bank account numbers - NEVER NEVER do this!
***********************************************************************
The correct address to send Fitzgerald Law Firm (aka Endeavor Financial Partners - web address www. endfin.com) a letter to CEASE ALL COMMUNICATION with you is PO Box 4558 Alpharetta, GA 30023-4558. The address they have listed on their website www.endfin.com is a FAKE address. I tried sending them a cease communication letter to the address on their website and it returned. Had to have my post office track them down. The CEO is Donald P Fitzgerald. He is an attorney and ONLY licensed in 2 states: Florida and Georgia. He does not have bonds or licenses in any other states.

Too have gone thru the same thing first with the number of 1-877-475-7617 and after I told them I would have them sued, because of the harassment, because I had paid off my loan over 10 yrs ago. The calls stopped, but now they are calling with this 770-882-0004 number, and they don't stop. I have not spoken to them since I assumed they are the same scam artist. Or someone is selling them our old student loans. Does anyone know how to stop them?

These idiots keep calling for a Michelle .......

Despite our message saying you have reached "matt & shannon" they leave messages for Michelle.  We've told them a number of times that they have the wrong #.  They stop calling for a week or two, then start up again.  We've now just started answering and screaming at them that MICHELE DOES NOT LIVE HERE! We don't know her, even after the idiot asked what our address was and it was in a different town than Michelle...you'd think that would stop, but no, they keep calling.

These people are borderline retarded.
