I'm guessing this is a scam.  I got a text saying my "account had unusual activity...." Weird thing is I don't have an account with Langley whatever it is.  Anyway- I suggest you NOT talk to anyone who calls you from here.

I got this text message like four times:

I got a text message from this jerk saying to contact him using an 888 number...  It hasbeen disconnected.  I called Verizon and did a "text message block" on this guy so shouldn't get anymore.  Dang crooks, scum, thieves, idiots!!!

i got a text from 3607 sayings "8008683258"@snmail18.tmomail.net//CHASE. Please call us immediately at 1-800-868-3258 regarding recent restriction placed on your account. Thank you.

I got a text just the other day saying my LFCU account had been closed. I've never even had an account with them. It came from (515)678 9538 and that's an Iowa number. Its a SCAM

Its a SCAM!!

I got the same text for LFCU last night. (01/19/2009)I did not call the number!  I decided to wait and call direct (which I will do as soon as they open).

I got the same text on my phone, my sister also got it. SCAM!!

Text msg to my cell.  Re: LFCU account closed, etc.  Call 773-256-9016.

Got the same message about an LFCU account. The sender was at 624-647-7828.  The 624 area code isn't assigned.  Go figure ....

773-256-9016 SCAM!!! They send a text stating that your account has been closed due to unusual activity...when i called it asks for card #, expiration & 3 digit code on back. CALL THE POLICE!!! ITS A SCAM!!!

I used to have an account there years ago.
If it's that important they'll send a certified letter.

i got the same text. i text "STOP" as my phone company recommended but i just got a message back saying invalid destination account. I never tried calling the number. do they just text random numbers?

Yep, I got it from LANGLEYFCU, too. My account with LFCU was closed about 14 years ago. New take on a simple scam. I'm gonna head over to the LFCU website and toss them tidbit.

The folks in Chicago need to watch the local paper for the Feds busting a scammer.

Called the number,automated voice telling me I need to give 3 forms of identification,starting with my account #,since I don't have a PSCU account to the best of my knowledge this must be some kinda phishing scam,looking for somebody that has an account to give them enough info to steal they're identity. (this last is my wild guess)
I tried returning the text,requesting that PSCU contact me regarding the account closure,"Your MSG could not be DELIVERED because Invalid Destination Account" Spelled exactly that way...

PSCU - Probably refers to Public Service Credit Union
