Three calls two to the house and one to cell

It's American Express. Trying to call if you are one day late on payment. They now treat it as equal to 30 days late. Beware! Your interest rate will at least double. Mine went to 27%. I tried to discuss it, no interest from them. Now I'm filing bankruptcy. If they won't work with you, there are few options left.

These people are calling me at least 6 times a day both on my home phone and cell. I have an AmEx account and it is paid up.  This is a scam.

They are calling everyone to let them know that a spending limit has been placed on your account.  They are doing it to practically everyone. I got the call and then the letter in the mail and an email.  They don't want you to be "surprised" if a charge is denied.

What is up with these people?  They have called 10 times. I don't have an AMEX card. nothing, but they continue to call.  I have asked to be removed from their list.  I'm filing an FTC and do not call complaint today.

They have called me 3 times today and I do not even own an Amex.  Does anyone know where they get your number from and how to make them stop?

this number continues to call our home!  We do not owe anything late to Amex!  This is a scam I would say.

I can't believe "Kristie" was stupid enough to place that comment.  Why would any one give their credit card # ?  I recieved the call on my cell phone.  Missed it.  Noticed I had missed a call & fortunately decided to look up the phone number before I returned the call. BE CAREFUL - THE SCAM ARTIST COME IN ALL FORMS!

I got calls from : 773-266-7390
They even left a voicemail a few times asking me to keep my AMEX card handy.

Most of the times when i called back this particular number, I got an busy tone.
Once it got connected and the automated machine answered saying I reached AMEX, asked for my account number and I did not enter, soon I got connected to a guy named Andrew.

He told he is calling from West Virginia and did not give this exact address
I said thank you and said I am not willing to give my card number to a con artist.

I just got off the phone with American Express.  Spoke with Sara in the customer service department.  She has verified that 1-800-678-0738 is 100% INVALID!! SCAM SCAM SCAM.  

She stated exactly "American Express will never call you asking you for your account number.  You should only give your account number out when you have called the phone number on the back of your card or one of the listed phone numbers on our website.  American Express also will never call you from a cell phone as we are all located at call centers and will show up as a toll free call and it is not possible for us to use a cell phone to call you."

Please - Do not call 800-678-0738.  It is a scam, 100%.

Indian accet guy stating that he is calling from american express for an urgent business matter and I must call by the end of the business day.  Says to call 800-678-0738.  Checked that # on here and everyone seems to think the same thing.  Scam.

I have an amex and I just checked the website and am up to date.  Actually, made 2 payments this month so I wouldnt be getting any calls from their collections.

I've been in trouble in the past with credit (14 years ago) and if they are calling in regards to your account, they reference what account, generally last 4 digits of the account #.

Regardless, I'm guessing this is a scam.  Think I'm going to call amex and check up on this.

I never answer these calls, but yesterday this number actually left me a message:

"This matter is urgently needed by the end of the day. Please call us at 1-800-678-0738, and please have your American Express account number available when you call.  We can be reached 24 hours a day.  Thank you."

Yeah, that totally sounds legitimate...  : \

Called tonight at 8 PM.  Asked for someone not associated with our phone number.. When I said "wrong number" they proceeded to ask how to reach this person?! These people are OBNOXIOUS

This number called our company today.  As soon as I answered, I could hear the occasional "beeping" noise in the background as though the call was immediately being recorded on the other end of the line.  The woman on the other end of the line asked for an employee that had retired a couple of years ago.  When I informed her that the person she was looking for had not been with our company for the past couple of years, she just started asking me if I knew a way to contact this person, which of course I don't - she stated that she would remove our number from their records.  The woman on the line continued to record the entire time we were on the phone and never identified herself or the company that she was calling from.

I got the same call...it says amex collection call....

At least spell it right if you are trying to run a scam.   This is not a collections number or amex.  This is a phone scam
