This is the 3rd call from "Preferred Long Distance" in 3 weeks. They want to offer me a "HUGE" reduction in my long distance rates. It's a scam & they won't stop calling.

Just got a call from this 773-321-2119.  It just showed the number on the caller ID and not a name of a company.  They asked to speak to the person in charge of our AT&T account.  I told them they weren't available but I could take a message and give it to them.  They said no that's ok we'll call back later.

It seems strange that someone affiliated with AT&T wouldn't leave a message.  If you are a legitimate company with legitimate business to be had then why would you not want someone to call you back or stay in contact with the provider you are trying to reach.  This is the second time a scam call has come to us from someone who was "affiliated" with AT&T.  I contacted AT&T on the first call we got and they informed me that this was a scam and there were many scams out there that are playing off of the changes AT&T is making i.e. changing everyone to U-Verse.  They also told me that they would be the only ones who ever contacted us about anything related to changing services, etc.  I would suggest calling your current provider and asking them questions and become as educated as possible before making a choice.  If the people who contacted you are rude to you because you want to do that then why would you want to do business with them anyways.

This number is a scam .......   5/14/13 Received a call from 773-321-2119, Lady named Lorie with Preferred contracted with ATT. She stated that they are contracted to help us get better rates for our phone service. 5/20/13 I contacted ATT and asked if they could tell me who "Preferred" is. The gentleman stated to me that they are not contracted with ATT and it is a totally different company trying to change your long distance service. Therefore this is "Preferred's" way of scamming you into changing your long distance.

I answered with my business greeting and there was dead air. I held the line for quite awhile and no answer. I said good-bye and hung up. Such a waste of my precious time since I had to answer the call, then research the a**hole calling me thus leading me here to leave my comment.

A female caller with a loud call center in the background kept saying hello over and over then she hung up.

Looks like the number has been reassigned to Preferred Long Distance, who has been constantly harassing me to change phone carriers. Upon checking, this company is not highly rated and has quite a few complaints and lawsuits against them. They want you to change telephone carriers, yet are evasive in their charges. When checking with my regular phone company, they do not sell or work in conjunction with these companies (Preferred Long Distance for one). Run the other way and don't get sucked into this. I've already lodged a complaint with the FCC as they just can't seem to understand what remove my name from your list means!!

Received the call on telephone rate change.  When she asked if I was the person to speak with I said no.  And provided her with our corporate phone number that happens to be a congressional representatives number.  Let Congress deal with these mindless waste of time scam calls and maybe they'll do something about it for the rest of us.  But all they'll end up doing is making it illegal for telemarketers to call them but more than legal to harass us, if they haven't already done so. And of course when someone gets scammed, phone slammed or receives over priced goods not ordered, they feel our pain.  Representatives are no better than telemarketers, I've got a deal for you, trust me!

They called my home phone, got my machine and just said Hello? 3 times and hung up. I'm on the no-call list.

Claimed to be from Centrury Link.  Claimed was not a sales call.  When I gave a time limit to identify why they were callling they hung up.  Added to my blocked caller list.

They keep calling my phone and not saying anything. They've already called 3 times in one day.

Caller posing to be our long distance carrier, informing us of rates going down. Sounded like a scam. When I challenged her, she got indignant saying she was required by FCC to notify us, and then tried to confirm our billing number. She said her company was Advantage and they were the carrier for my local company Century Link. I told her she was full of bologna and called Century Link. Rep told me it was a slammer trying to change us over to their long distance. Very deceiving tactics. SCAM!

Just had a call on my office line from this number - no-one there when I picked up, when I called it back, a  network announcement says the number is unassigned.  Go figure.

Had a call from this number at 12:19 today (EDT) but when I picked up no-one was there.

called stating they are going to lower my AT & T bill- the rates they were quoting were actually higher then our statement shows.    the caller hung up on me, when I told her we were paying less then what she quoted.  Was telling me by law she is to call all small business AT&T customers to let them know of this rate change- SCAM!

We just got this call too.  Very rude person.  We are calling our local phone company to report them.

I called back -- Carnival Cruise Lines

This is the 2nd time they have called. The last time was a month ago on March 14 (posted on page 3). I had their number, so I put the call straight to hold without saying a word. Maybe they will eventually stop calling.

I had a call at work from this number this morning, they claim they are an AT&T preferred supplier and can reduce my AT&T bills significantly.  I think it's a scam.  If you press them for information or ask them to confirm any information in writing, they usually hang up.

I got a call from "Jeremy" from "Advantage".  Claimed to be the long distance provider for Century Link.  Said he could take my phone bills from $17/mo to $7/mo.  
When I questioned why it wasnt my phone carrier calling, he was very cocky and rude. Said they could never give me discounted rates as he had offered.  I told him I was not going to do business w/ a company other than century link, especially over the phone.  I told him Id call Century Link and verify that he was who he claimed to be, and asked for a number I could call him back on to take advantage of his wonderful offer.
He again, pulled out his cocky attitude and said, "well, theyre not going to give you this kind of an offer.  It just wont happen."
I thanked him for his time, told him I was not interested and he hung up on me.

Received a call on a company business line.  I asked some questions to determine what line number and carrier they were calling for.  They asked for the person who handles the phones and I said I was.  It was Operator 2002 on a caller id of CHIGOZNO6.  
This lady offered a discount to our long distance and then wanted information to confirm the deal.  I asked her to give me her name and number, I would call my carrier and present long distance provider and then call her back and she hung up the phone.
The name Advantage came up.  I tried dialing this number back, but I get a busy signal.
IT IS A SCAM NO DOUBT.  Last week our organization experienced someone disconnecting some of our lines and I am suspicious  that these scam artists have hit us before now.

call came to my business line - caller disconnected  when I answered so I dialed back from caller ID so I know I didn't enter the number incorrectly.  I received a recording that my annonymous caller rejection had been activated!!  I was able to deactive using *87.

On the do not call list, where do they get the numbers?

Just got a call.  Didn't answer.  They didn't leave a message.  I'm on the NO CALL list, so how can they do this?  How can I report them?

Just rec'd a call from 773-321-2119.  It was a recording, "Congratulations, you have..."  I immediately recognized it as a scam and hung up.  My number is on the National Do Not Call Registry.  These people have no scruples.

Received a call from this number about 3:15 today - 4/4/12 and did not answer.  Another cruise line - thanks for posting.  I don't answer unless I know who is calling.  If they know my number and they don't reveal themselves on my ID, I don't answer.  This was on my cell.
