ROBO Caller SCAM about air duct cleaning
Toni 2013-03-15 19:56:02 Unknown
They call constantly. No message left on answering machine.
Paper shredder 2013-03-02 16:38:13 Unknown
I keep some paper near the shredder. Push whatever # they indicate to talk with them, then feed the shredder.
Reporting them to do not call or asking the co. to stop both useless.

THIS IS THE ANNOYING COMPANY THAT IS CALLING YOU!
Chicago Furnace Repair
500 North Michigan Avenue
Chicago, IL 60611
773-377-5920
I have no idea if they are legit or just a front.
Either way, who wants to hire a company that harasses you?

I got 3 calls from this number today, and have received many more in that past couple of weeks.. The first 2 calls came up 'error' on my caller ID. The 3rd came up this number. With each call, as soon as I answer, without saying a word, it goes straight into an air duct cleaning recording. I'm on the 'do not call' registry too. This company is very annoying. Let's just say, even if my air ducts where spewing chunks, this is the last company I would ever use.

Received several calls from this number. The last time they phoned was 2/21/13. They don't leave messages on answering machine, hang up when I pick up.
Even though we're on the 'Do Not Call List, ' I'm going to make complaints with the addresses, Smash Them and Don B recommended. Thanks to you both.
I hope others do the same so these IDIOTS stop calling.

Have calls everyday from this number, never leaves a message.
Jen 2013-02-19 18:28:00 Unknown
I receive weekly calls from 773-377-5920. I'm on the national do not call list. I ask the operator to stop calling me but they just hang up.

Robo-call on my answering machine today at (approx.) 12:30 PM Machine picked up mid-call. I have not ever done business with this company! And I certainly have not given permission to robo-call me - I am on the national do not call registry!
Don B 2013-02-18 20:47:54 Unknown
Have received several calls from this number. At end of their computer message they say "press 2 to 'stop being calls'" so I have each time.
Today I received call again, but pressed 1 to talk with someone. I told the person I did not want to be called again and my number was on the National Do Not Call list. Person hung up on me Fifteen minutes later received another call again. Tried to talk with person again, told her I was going to file a complaint and was hung up again.
So I am filing the complaint today. If every one posting here would do the same maybe it will do some good.
Go to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
Keep a log of calls - number, date and time

If you get more than 2 messages from the same company and are on the do not call list, contact a consumer attorney --- email them ---- tell them you are interested in suing the company. If they get enough complaints or the company is financially viable...they will sue. I am in process now of suing a company that called me 5 times in 2 months. Attorney is in Chicago. I pay nothing if I lose.

Receive calls from these people at least three times a week even tho I am on the DO NOT CALL list. I know who they are and I won't answer their telemarketer calls. They let the phone ring 15 to 20 times before hanging up. Very annoying.

I've been on the Do Not Call list since it came out. Been asking these dopes to stop calling me for longer than that. Is there anyone out there who can explain the definition of "no" the these imbeciles!?

Just filed a complaint with the Chicago BBB, as their website showed the BBB logo.
Business Name: Chicago Furnance Repair
Business Addr: 500 North Michigan Avenue
Chicago IL 60611
Website: furnacerepairchicagoil.com/
I live in the northwest suburbs, so why would I call a furnance business all the way in downtown Chicago for service? DUH!

It doesn't matter where they got the number from, that doesn't absolve them from their responsibiility to check it against the Do Not Call list. Once you are on the DNC list, you're on the list.
Unless you actually somehow formed a business relationship directly with them, or they are "affiliated" with a company that you have a relationship with and that company provides your info to their affiliates (which they should be disclosing in their Customer Privacy notices that they send you annually), they do not have permission to call you if you are on the DNC list.
You entry never expires. From the DNC web site: "Your registration will not expire. Telephone numbers placed on the National Do Not Call Registry will remain on it permanently due to the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008."

they called me at home....during lunch, so yes I was eating. I asked her the name of the company and she said "listen, lady...listen...first chew, then swallow...then choke" and hung up.
WTH???

Everybody needs to file a do not call complaint for every unwanted call you receive. www.fcc.gov/complaints.
The FCC won't do anything for one call, but if enough people file a complaint on the same number, maybe some action might be taken.

Got a call about air duct cleaning, I did the prompt, when I told them I do not have a furnace, I have hot water heat , they hanged up on me. I just got another call today. If you try to call back their number it goes to a busy. I am in the do not call registry, for whatever good that does.

got a call, no message.
Diablo135 2013-01-15 20:46:36 Unknown
The problem with the Do Not Call lists is that it isn't permanent. It can't be. If you fill out a form anywhere or anytime (lets say for a contest or something) then your number gets back out there, typically sold from the company that collected it. It can even be from a Credit card app or car loan or just about anything. So I'm not saying these guys didn't violate the Do Not Call list, I'm just saying that they might not have. They got your number from somewhere.
As for suing? It's not that big of deal. Just don't answer it. Better yet, ANSWER it and request to be taken off their list. You cannot win a law suit because they would either have to keep calling and calling and calling, or you would have to show damages, which you didn't have.

Answering machine picked it up, but the first part was cut out. Said something about a furnace inspection. Blocking call. Stupid Telemarketers.

I don't think that helps - since you don't have a legit company name to go after.
You have only the phone #e
The FCC has a site for reporting calls to people on the do-not-call list,
http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
I presume there is no money or funding to do any good as there is a true plague of robo calls to (probably) sequential numbers thus including DNC numbers. -- or worst case, TO people on the DNC list.

Just called today in illinois NW Suburbs.
Let's face it the gov't has no funds to go after these "mosquitos", and it is a shame the do-not-call can't be enforced. Any legitimate decent alternate solutions would be appreciated! e.g. find the phone companies supporting the lines as indicated above (Thanks!) and going after them for supporting illegal activity, etc.
