A lady just called me telling me I have won a chance at four prizes, one of which is a Lincoln Navigator.  To call Mr. Russell at 1866-516-7311.  She said I filled something out on the web to win.  She didn't know what the web site was.  Just to call the number and talk with Mr. Russell.  She called on 8-19-08 at 1:14pm.

I receive an call stating I won a 0210 Linclon Nav. or a trip to Mexico or a bif screen televison. And I would hear from them in a couple of weeks. I haven't heard anything I call back and figure this is a scam .
I have contacted the FTC and submit a complaint this has to stop. Because a lot of people are having hard times and might believe they have won the prize. Then they will be upset to know this is a scam.

Please people do not call thise people back. The number I was to call was 8662156066 and aske for Bill Russell

Event Reminder
At approximately 2:03pm on the 17th of July this year - I recv'd a call on my unlisted - non published number - from a Mr. Russel @ 866-377-5547
I contacted the U.S.Attorney General's Office, the Massachusetts Attorney General, and the FTC, along with my attorneys...

People like this should no long breathe the air the rest of us get to breathe... The solution - drop them from a B-52 from 40,000 feet without a parachute over North Korea.

I got three calls:

1st call came from 773-385-9816 A woman said that she was calling from Global Vacations and I had won of the top four prizes in a contest with the Lincoln Navigator being the top prize.  This was a contest that they had with another company and that they had to get somethings straighten out between them.  I was to call 1-866-965-6374 and talk to a Mr. Russell.  I called and the guy said on the message to leave your name and number and he would call back in 5 minutes so I left my name and phone number.

2nd call came from 773-622-8623 called to make sure my information was right (address and my name) and asked if I could be reached at this number in the next 2 to 3 minutes I said yes.  She even had the nerve to tell me congratulations and to have a blessed day.

3rd call came from 773-637-4879 they had my address right.  They flubbed on two details my email address and they asked was I still married.  I said no and she said she need to transfer me.  A guy got on the line and said that the contest was for couples.  Then I got switched back to the woman who said that it was alright if I am not married and then she told me the top four prizes.  A 2008 Lincoln Navigator, 7 days 6 nights Florida vacation, $2,500, and a 32 inch flat screen tv.  I had to go pick up my prize at 855 Gold Hill Road Suite 106 Fort Mill, S.C. 29708 my prize number is ITCHOW and I would be given a scatch off ticket to determine which prize I would get.  The reason they where so urgent in getting in contact with me is because the event was on December 3 and that they start giving away prizes at 5:30P and that at 7:30P they would give away the big prize.  The event was also supposedly an opening for a new store. She then asked which one would I be able to attend and I told her neither.  Then she asked if I still had Mr. Russell's number I said yes then she said that just in cause the event was postponed or delayed for any reason I should call him to check and see.

That may be the scam!

Just got the same call and spiel! Allegedly the next "grand opening" is in Orlando at 2295 S. Hiawassee Rd Suit 406, Orlando FL 32835 tomorrow 11 OCT 2008 at 6pm and 8pm. I was reading this blog as I was listening to the 3rd caller and sure enough EVERYTHING you have posted here they were saying.

The explanation they gave for the strange marketing technique was that do a direct sales approach through sweepstakes actually is more cost effective than print and TV advertising. That seemed to me to be a perfectly placed counterargument for all the posts and doubts expressed here.

If you have time and are really curious I can't imagine its dangerous, but it is definitely not on the up and up.

They used the same names when they called me - Mr. Russell, etc.

I called it back and left my information since they already had it anyways. It is from a company called Global Vacations Network. You have to go sit through a 90 minute presentation and then are guaranteed on the spot a navigator (or $45,000), 3 day 2 night bahamas cruise, $2500 cash, or a 32 inch flat screen tv. It is based on the lotto ticket you scratch off, but you are "guaranteed" one of the prizes. My boyfriend and I have an appointment tonight (not sure that we'll keep it now that I have seen people have trouble getting the prize). We know we won't sign up for the program, but we might go just to argue with them for the fun of it and see if the free prize works out. Assume it doesn't work out, but if we do go, and if it does work out, I'll let you know.

Yep, same thing happened to me today.  All the same details, except I received a voicemail stating this.  I called and left a message on 'Bill Russell' or whoever, and someone called me back w/in 5 mins.  My email address and physical address they used are 6 and 4 years old, respectively, so i dont know where they are getting the personal info, but its an old database as i havent lived in Midwest for almost 3 years now.

When i said that i had moved to CA, they said that they would get back to me w/in 24 hours.  I havent heard back so far, and i doubt i will.

1-773-622-8564

A solicitor called from Prize Comm 1-773-622-8564 (This is a Chicago, Illinois prefix) telling me I have won a chance at four prizes, one of which is a Lincoln Navigator. She asked me if such and such is my phone number, my address, my name, email address, I said yes to all of those questons. She said I filled something out on the web to win, but wouldn't say where.  She didn't know what the web site was.  She said I had to call a Mr. Russell at 1-866-388-1526 to find out what prize I had won and where to pick it up. When I asked why she couldn't tell me more about this she said I should just call the number and talk with Mr. Russell. I called the number and got his voice mail and the recording said he would call back in 5 minutes. I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes and no call back. Then I called the first number that had called me. It rang and rang, there was no answer. I felt it was a scam of some kind and since they had a lot of my personal information I started researching the number on line and found this site. After an additional hour they finally called me back. It was the supposed Mr. Russell calling this time from 1-773-385-9865. This is a Chicago, Illinois number. He gave me his shpiel about the prizes. A 2008 Lincoln Navigator worth $45,000 and I can choose to take the cash if I want instead, or $2500.00 cash, or 4days and 5 nights on a Bahamas Cruise, or a 32" Flat Screen TV. He said it was being given away by Global Vacations 9465 Counselors Row Suite 200 Indianapolis, Indiana( as if I would drive that far to hear a 90 min sales pitch "for a chance to win" ).  He congratulated me and then said he had to have another girl call me back to confirm things. So I said ok and in a few minutes she called me back telling me all the same stuff again followed with another conversation with her supervisor. Then after the supervisor's conversation she had to put me though to yet another person, I was sick of this by then. I told them to forget it and to not call me again. I am glad I did because I now have found another place where more complaints were posted on line about the same company!

I just got the same msg. from 773-637-4973 & the msg said I also won a Lincoln Navigator. The only difference was that they had my address wrong. To claim my prize the msg said call back 866-534-6599.  I knew it sounded fishy. When I called the 866# I also got Bill Russell's voicemail telling me to leave my name & number & that he'd call me right back. At that point I hung up! SCAM!!!!!!

At about 9pm EST, I received the same call from Prize Comm, 773-385-9816, telling me I'd won a Navigator or other prize.  They had my email, home address, and tel #.  They told me to call Mr. Russell, the Prize Director.  The woman couldn't confirm what company sponsored the giveaway and said they weren't selling anything.  She said she worked for Prize Center in Illinois.  I called the 800# (just out of curiousity) and Mr. Bill Russell's voicemail said to leave a name and phone number and he'd call back within 5 minutes - I hung up.  Definitely some sort of scam...
