Call came in around 6:45 PM; they said in an automated message that our card had been suspended because fraudulent use was suspected and if we wanted to reauthorize our card use I should hit 1.  I hung up because I would never do that, type in a credit card number to an automated system.  The call didn't say anything about which card or which bank.  The caller ID on my phone gave the phone number but nothing else.

recording said it was Bragg Federal Credit Union and a credit card was suspended and press 1 to contact security department. When you press 1 they ask for your card number. I hung up.

Both my daughter and I received the same recorded message on our cell phones purporting to be from Liberty Bank.  We both just hung up.

I also had a call from this number, and my experience was almost identical to "Dave."  I do not have an account with Liberty Bank.  I reported the scam on the FBI web-site, but am not too hopeful about it.

Similar here as well - except they did have my bank name correct? sort of.  They called during normal business hours (7/20/2009 at 9:39AM) so that wasn?t the red flag.  My red flag was my bank uses there initials anytime they call or you call them.  Well, this automated system stated my banks entire name.  Nope, I didn?t buy it.  In fact, I did not even entertain myself by pressing '1'.  I simply hung up and called my bank.  I was scared if I pressed the 1 they could scan my phone using some type of sophisticated device and have all of my information.  LOL.  Sounds crazy but who knows right?

My call came from an automated system saying that my credit card from a local credit union (that I don't belong to) was being suspended. I let my answering machine screen it but did try to pick up and press 1 but was disconnected. I was hoping that a person would have answered. I would not enter a card number. Does no one track down and prosecute such blatant scams?

I got a similar message about a credit card being stolen.  I didn't recall them mentioning the name of the place but Citi might be correct.  I did press 1 and did put in a bogus 16 digit number because I was on to it from the get go.  The message said it didn't recognize my card which means its a rather intelligent system trying to find the correct last 4 for Citi's brand of cards.  I don't happen to know what those are, but it did scare the crap out of me thinking they might have one of my new cards from the mail or something.
