i got the call last week, I didn't answer.

rec'd call on 01/11/12.  when phone rings and you don't recognize the number, ignore it.  If it's important they'll leave a msg or call back immediately.  Then file a complaint asap.

My call was from 773-449-5055 (instead of 5056) and to tell me I had signed up to win a cruise.  But, of course, I had not signed up.  I know those sign ups are scams just to get your address or email address.

Got the call this morning (Saturday of all days) answered because I do business all over the country. No body was there, so I hung up. Fifteen minutes later got call again for lowering some interest rate. These people need to have there fingers removed. What a joke. This government is a joke, the FCC is a joke, the do not call registery is a joke.

Found Blacklist for the iPhone and bought it from the iTunes store. Let's see how it works.

Recorded message about a free cruise scam. Press 1 to speak to a rep. Press 2 to be added to their do not call list (my phone is already on the federal do not call list). Hung up.

Calling about free cruise winner, but I never filled out any contest form for a cruise. Spam call.

Called my Cell - Did not answer (Never answer any of these unknown numbers.) They didn't leave a message.
I have been getting these crap calls now for a while so I invested $0.99 in a little application for my Blackberry called Call Blocker Pro. Works a charm once I get the number plugged in there.
Another number with the same comments I've already blocked is 773-449-5061.
The logs show they have called 5 times since I put it in. Persistant beggars.

I  do agree with this responce:

NEVER reply to scammers.  It only confirms that it's a live working number belonging to a live human being.  Once you respond, they will NEVER stop.

The only way to handle this is to put in official complaints for each and every telemarketing call or text at the government web page for the Do Not Call list.  Sooner or later they'll have to do something.

Got the call said it was from Chicago.  Did not answer.  Came here.  The number is now on Blacklist (go to andoid market - great free app) and also on the block list on my android.  Don't answer these jokers, just block them!

From Peg again.  It also is my cell and I am on the no call list.  How do we go about reporting them?

They called me this afternoon on my cell phone, which is on the Do Not Call list.

Have no idea who this call was from!!!  Did not answer!

These F#$%ers are still calling me.  BTW if you need therapy please try to get it professionally rather than typing insults at each other on 800 notes folks.

By the way, I used to work for a magazine company where I filled lost/missing subscriptions.  I had access to customers' demographic and with that info - the comp was able to sort thru and sell certain demographic to certain companies - depending what they are asking for.  It was amazing how much the company sold them for.  I was never involved in the transaction but had overheard the their business deal.

That is true!  DO NOT CALL BACK to remove your number from their list.  Just ignore it or at least block the number from ringing thru your cell.  

Once you confirm - they know your number is valid and will sell your number to various marketing companies out there.  There is no law that says they can't sell your number.  At least none that I know of anyway.

AGAIN - DO NOT CALL THEM BACK TO REMOVE YOUR NUMBER.  JUST IGNORE THEM OR BLOCK THEIR NUMBERS.  Good luck!

PT Barnum is correct - NEVER reply to anything you do not know who they are - and they do use ligit names to get you suckered in. They even use the Internal Revenue and credit card companies. I got an email about pay-pal wanting me to confirm something - I reported them to the spam/phishing sights and pay-pal.

i also recvd a call I did not answer but I did receive a post card from Southwest for a free cruise also.  I fly Southwest alot so they probably got my number from there.  NOTHING is FREE
