So glad I googled this chick!  She sent me that exact same email for my wedding dress on Craigslist!  Thanks so much for helping me avoid getting scammed!

me too! the exact same message from ammytaylor1@gmail.com!!!! i'm selling my wedding dress on ebay, and she sent me the same message she sent to CB. i told her no.

I just got the exact same message today.

This is the email I got from ammytaylor1@gmail.com after I refused to sell to the Mrs. Thomas person:

Hello,

 Thanks for your response. I saw some pictures and it's quite a lovely dress
and i would love to buy it,
i`ll like to have the wedding dress .
This is my first thing am buying off craigslist.org
I really want to come see it and try it on but i cannot
as i am out of town due to work and preparation for my wedding.
I think i have seen enough pictures so far so i would love
to buy it off from you as will be relying on your judgment.

  My method of payment would be through a Certified Check
since am not around and can not remit cash from here as this
is coming impromptu.  Please let me know the final asking price
so i can make arrangements as i will handle the shipment
myself and i will be sending my mover down to pick up
the dress at your place.

Kindly provide me with your full name and mailing address
to which the Certified check  would be sent so we can wrap
this up real quick as the wedding is just around the corner.
NB: I also want to inform you that there will be an excess
amount of funds which you will forward to my mover
(for shipment purposes)

I had the exact same conversation.  Once I said cash only I never heard back again.  I was then emailed by Ammy Taylor with almost the exact same situation except she's the one getting married and her shipper will pick up the dress.  She then said I will over pay you so that you can give the additional money to my shipper.  This is the same as all the money order scams.  Just strange that they would do this on Wedding Dresses!

Just adding to the list... got the scam message on my phone right now... why why why are they doing this? Makes me mad that there is nothing we can do to stop it.. there are many of us who know it's a scam but lots that do not.... just stick to cash deposits or local meet up and pick up.

The same story, I posted my wedding dress for sale too, why would they do that on wedding dresses only?

She isn't very original because I got the same message about my wedding dress ad! I sure hope that anyone who tries to buy or sell anything online checks these numbers out and never gives any personal information. I got messages from 773-609-0378, 636-525-1211 and 424-225-1508 advising they are sending a certified check/money order, etc. It's sad that all we want to do is sell something online and people try to rip you off! I responded with "Let me know when you want to meet to try it on....", no response! This girl will not be fooled!!

My story is just like the other stories posted.  This lady is a scam artist (or tries to be).  Don't give out any personal information.  

Our conversation went like this.  (I posted my wedding dress for sale)

Me:  It is still available.  Does the dress need to be tried on?

Scammer:  Thanks for the prompt response to my message.  I will be buying from you so please kindly withdraw the advert online.  i must tell you i am very much interested in the purchase because i really need it for my Daughter wedding and want it to be a surprise thing for her with all this planning because she is all i have after her Dad passed away... I will be paying you securely with a check which will be cleared.  

Then I responded by telling her I need to meet my buyers in person and accept cash only.  

She never responded back.

Same here! I got the exact same message as described by Cristyana. I did go a little further by saying I noticed it was an out of state number.
They said they live in Illinois, and to "Kindly get back to me with your name and address to mail out the check and i will wait till it clears your bank before the planner will come to you pick up of the dress... await your details to mail out the check."
My response was that it is a cash only deal.
I don't know what they're trying to gain with this, but don't fall for it. The way they type seems to be someone that doesn't fully know the English language or how to put the sentences together fully. Don't be fooled!

They contacted me about a wedding dress I have for sale. The conversation between the scammer and myself is as follows (Taken directly from the conversation):

8:34 A.M.
Scammer: "Good Morning Do you still have this Dress available for sale.I'm interested.Mrs Lea Thomas."

Me: "Good Morning! I do still have the dress available for sale."

3:23 P.M.
Scammer: "Thanks for the prompt response to my message. I stopped responding at this point obviously (all typos are exactly the way they spelled them). If you get contact from this number IGNORE IT! IT IS A SCAM! NEVER give any personal information.

Same thing, I post a wedding dress. Same day they text me and said they would pay in full, write a check, and it would be cleared, but needed my info.

The person raised suspicion when they said their "husband passed away" and the the person wanted the dress asap.

I posted a wedding dress online and they said they would buy it right away, without any further questions they automatically wanted my information so they could cut me a check.

Looks like a scam.
